Subtask 36-22-00-710-121-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Test
NOTE: The overheat detection threshold is between 117 and 131 degrees Celsius.
An overheat detection by one loop can occur in these conditions:
  • High Outside Air Temperature (OAT)
  • ECS supplied with hot bleed air.
    In these conditions, the ambient air around the sensing elements can increase to the detection threshold but there is not an air leak.
    If there is an air leak, there will be an AIR L(R) WING LEAK warning on the ECAM.
    No other maintenance action is necessary if:
  • The overheat detection was by one loop only with high OAT and ECS supplied with hot bleed air.
  • The result of the EBAS BITE test is TEST OK.
   (1) Do the BITE test of the EBAS AMM 36-11-00-740-802.
4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 36-22-00-810-142-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. If the test gives the maintenance message:
L WING LOOP A
  • Remove BMC1 (1HA1) AMM 36-11-34-000-001.
  • On shelf 95VU, connect the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP between connector 1HA1-AA/4G and the ground ASM 362201.
  • Do a check of the impedance read on the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP.
   (1) If the impedance is more than 10 kOhms:
  • Disconnect the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP from the BMC1 connector.
  • Install BMC1 (1HA1) AMM 36-11-34-400-001.
  • Refer to Para. 4.C.
  • Do a check of the correct installation of the sensing elements along the bleed duct.
  • Do a wiring check ASM 362201.
   (2) If the impedance is less than 10 kOhms:
  • Do a visual inspection of the sensing elements and cables on the L wing loop A.
     (a) If a sensing element or cable is damaged:
     (b) If no sensing element is damaged:
The elements that follow can be found in the WING:
  • Disconnect the connector between sensing elements 28HF and 29HF.
  • Connect the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP between connector 1HA1-AA/4G and the ground.
  • Do a check of the impedance read on the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP.
NOTE: You must use a dichotomy method to find the defective sensing element:
  • Disconnect a connector in the middle of the loop.
  • Measure the resistance of one of the halves.
    If the measurement is correct, you must do a check of the other half.
    If the measurement is not correct, do the same operation in the defective half again until you find the defective sensing element.
       1 If the impedance is less than 10 kOhms:
  • Disconnect the connector between cables 24HF and 25HF.
  • Do a check of the impedance read or the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP.
         a If the impedance is less than 10 kOhms:
  • Disconnect the connector between sensing elements 81HF and 22HF.
  • Do a check of the impedance read on the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP.

    * If the impedance is less than 131 kOhms:
    - Disconnect the connector between cable 21HF and sensing element 81HF.
    - Do a check of the impedance read on the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP.

    ** If the impedance is less than 10 kOhms:
    - Replace the CABLE-CONNECTING, L WING LOOP A [21HF] AMM 36-22-16-000-002 and AMM 36-22-16-400-002.
    - Do a check of the impedance read on the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP.

    *** If the impedance is less than 10 kOhms:
    - Do a check and repair the wiring between pin AA/4G of BMC1 (1HA1) and cable 21HF ASM 362201.
    - Connect all the cables or connectors disconnected.
    - Disconnect the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP from the BMC1 connector.
    - Install BMC1 (1HA1) AMM 36-11-34-400-001.
    - Refer to Para. 4.C.

    *** If the impedance is more than 10 kOhms:
    - Connect all the cables or connectors disconnected.
    - Disconnect the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP from the BMC1 connector.
    - Install BMC1 (1HA1) AMM 36-11-34-400-001.
    - Refer to Para. 4.C.

    ** If the impedance is more than 10 kOhms:
    - Replace the SNSG ELEM-OVHT, L WING LOOP A [81HF] AMM 36-22-16-000-001 and AMM 36-22-16-400-001.
    - Connect all the cables or connectors disconnected.
    - Disconnect the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP from the BMC1 connector.
    - Install BMC1 (1HA1) AMM 36-11-34-400-001.
    - Refer to Para. 4.C.

    * If the impedance is more than 131 kOhms:
    - Disconnect the connector between sensing elements 22HF and 23HF.
    - Connect the connector between sensing elements 81HF and 22HF.
    - Do a check of the impedance read on the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP.

    ** If the impedance is less than 10 kOhms:
    - Replace the SNSG ELEM-OVHT, L WING LOOP A [22HF] AMM 36-22-16-000-006 and AMM 36-22-16-400-007.
    - Connect all the cables or connectors disconnected.
    - Disconnect the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP from the BMC1 connector.
    - Install BMC1 (1HA1) AMM 36-11-34-400-001.
    - Refer to Para. 4.C.

    ** If the impedance is more than 10 kOhms:
    - Disconnect the connector between sensing element 23HF and cable 24HF.
    - Connect the connector between sensing elements 22HF and 23HF.
    - Do a check of the impedance read in the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP.

    *** If the impedance is less than 10 kOhms:
    - Replace the SNSG ELEM-OVHT, L WING LOOP A [23HF] AMM 36-22-16-000-005 and AMM 36-22-16-400-005.
    - Connect all the cables or connectors disconnected.
    - Disconnect the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP from the BMC1 connector.
    - Install BMC1 (1HA1) AMM 36-11-34-400-001.
    - Refer to Para. 4.C.

    *** If the impedance is more than 10 kOhms:
    - Replace the CABLE-CONNECTING, L WING LOOP A [24HF] AMM 36-22-16-000-003 and AMM 36-22-16-400-003.
    - Connect all the cables or connectors disconnected.
    - Disconnect the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP from the BMC1 connector.
    - Install BMC1 (1HA1) AMM 36-11-34-400-001.
    - Refer to Para. 4.C.
         b If the impedance is more than 10 kOhms:
  • Disconnect the connector between sensing elements 26HF and 27HF.
  • Connect the connector between cables 24HF and 25HF.
  • Do a check of the impedance read on the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP.

    * If the impedance is less than 10 kOhms:
    - Disconnect the connector between cable 25HF and sensing element 26HF.
    - Do a check of the impedance read on the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP.

    ** If the impedance is less than 10 kOhms:
    - Replace the CABLE-CONNECTING, L WING LOOP A [25HF] AMM 36-22-16-000-007 and AMM 36-22-16-400-008.
    - Connect all the cables or connectors disconnected.
    - Disconnect the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP from the BMC1 connector.
    - Install BMC1 (1HA1) AMM 36-11-34-400-001.
    - Refer to Para. 4.C.

    ** If the impedance is more than 10 kOhms:
    - Replace the SNSG ELEM-OVHT, L WING LOOP A [26HF] AMM 36-22-16-000-004 and AMM 36-22-16-400-004.
    - Connect all the cables or connectors disconnected.
    - Disconnect the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP from the BMC1 connector.
    - Install BMC1 (1HA1) AMM 36-11-34-400-001.
    - Refer to Para. 4.C.

    * If the impedance is more than 10 kOhms:
    - Disconnect the connector between sensing elements 27HF and 28HF.
    - Connect the connector between sensing elements 26HF and 27HF.
    - Do a check of the impedance read on the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP.

    ** If the impedance is less than 10 kOhms:
    - Replace the SNSG ELEM-OVHT, L WING LOOP A [27HF] AMM 36-22-16-000-005 and AMM 36-22-16-400-005.
    - Connect all the cables or connectors disconnected.
    - Disconnect the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP from the BMC1 connector.
    - Install BMC1 (1HA1) AMM 36-11-34-400-001.
    - Refer to Para. 4.C.

    ** If the impedance is more than 10 kOhms:
    - Replace the SNSG ELEM-OVHT, L WING LOOP A [28HF] AMM 36-22-16-000-006 and AMM 36-22-16-400-007.
    - Connect all the cables or connectors disconnected.
    - Disconnect the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP from the BMC1 connector.
    - Install BMC1 (1HA1) AMM 36-11-34-400-001.
    - Refer to Para. 4.C.
       2 If the impedance is more than 10 kOhms:
  • Disconnect the connector between sensing elements 32HF (found in the fuselage) and 33HF (found in the fuselage).
  • Connect the connector between sensing elements 28HF (found in the wing) and 29HF (found in the wing).
  • Do a check of the impedance read on the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP.
         a If the impedance is less than 10 kOhms:
  • Disconnect the connector between sensing elements 73HF and 31HF.
  • Do a check of the impedance read on the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP.

    * If the impedance is less than 10 kOhms:
    - Disconnect the connector between sensing elements 29HF (found in the wing) and 90HF (found in the fuselage).
    - Do a check of the impedance read on the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP.

    ** If the impedance is less than 10 kOhms:
    - Replace the SNSG ELEM-OVHT, L WING LOOP A [29HF] (found in the wing) AMM 36-22-16-000-001 and AMM 36-22-16-400-001.
    - Connect all the cables or connectors disconnected.
    - Disconnect the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP from the BMC1 connector.
    - Install BMC1 (1HA1) AMM 36-11-34-400-001.
    - Refer to Para. 4.C.

The elements that follow can be found in the FUSELAGE:

** If the impedance is more than 10 kOhms:
- Connect the connector between sensing elements 29HF (found in the wing) and 90HF (found in the fuselage).
- Disconnect the connector between sensing elements 73HF (found in the fuselage) and 90HF (found in the fuselage).
- Do a check of the impedance read on the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP.

*** If the impedance is less than 10 kOhms:
- Replace the INTERCONNECTING CABLE [90HF] AMM 36-22-18-000-001 and AMM 36-22-18-400-001.
- Connect all the cables or connectors disconnected.
- Disconnect the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP from the BMC1 connector.
- Install BMC1 (1HA1) AMM 36-11-34-400-001.
- Refer to Para. 4.C.

*** If the impedance is more than 10 kOhms:
- Replace the OVHT SENS ELEMENT [73HF] AMM 36-22-18-000-001 and AMM 36-22-18-400-001.
- Connect all the cables or connectors disconnected.
- Disconnect the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP from the BMC1 connector.
- Install BMC1 (1HA1) AMM 36-11-34-400-001.
- Refer to Para. 4.C.

* If the impedance is more than 10 kOhms:
- Disconnect the connector between sensing elements 31HF and 32HF.
- Connect the connector between sensing elements 73HF and 31HF.
- Do a check of the impedance read on the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP.

** If the impedance is less than 10 kOhms:
- Replace the OVHT SENS ELEMENT [31HF] AMM 36-22-18-000-001 and AMM 36-22-18-400-001.
- Connect all the cables or connectors disconnected.
- Disconnect the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP from the BMC1 connector.
- Install BMC1 (1HA1) AMM 36-11-34-400-001.
- Refer to Para. 4.C.

** If the impedance is more than 10 kOhms:
- Replace the OVERHEAT SENSING ELEM [32HF] AMM 36-22-18-000-001 and AMM 36-22-18-400-001.
- Connect all the cables or connectors disconnected.
- Disconnect the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP from the BMC1 connector.
- Install BMC1 (1HA1) AMM 36-11-34-400-001.
- Refer to Para. 4.C.
         b If the impedance is more than 10 kOhms:
  • Disconnect the connector between sensing elements 35HF and 36HF.
  • Connect the connector between sensing elements 32HF and 33HF.
  • Do a check of the impedance read on the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP.

    * If the impedance is less than 10 kOhms:
    - Disconnect the connector between sensing elements 33HF and 34HF.
    - Do a check of the impedance read on the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP.

    ** If the impedance is less than 10 kOhms:
    - Replace the OVHT SENS ELEMENT [33HF] AMM 36-22-18-000-001 and AMM 36-22-18-400-001.
    - Connect all the cables or connectors disconnected.
    - Disconnect the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP from the BMC1 connector.
    - Install BMC1 (1HA1) AMM 36-11-34-400-001.
    - Refer to Para. 4.C.

    ** If the impedance is more than 10 kOhms:
    - Disconnect the connector between sensing elements 34HF and 35HF.
    - Connect the connector between sensing elements 33HF and 34HF.
    - Do a check of the impedance read on the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP.

    *** If the impedance is less than 10 kOhms:
    - Replace the OVHT SENS ELEMENT [34HF] AMM 36-22-18-000-001 and AMM 36-22-18-400-001.
    - Connect all the cables or connectors disconnected.
    - Disconnect the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP from the BMC1 connector.
    - Install BMC1 (1HA1) AMM 36-11-34-400-001.
    - Refer to Para. 4.C.

    *** If the impedance is more than 10 kOhms:
    - Replace the OVHT SENS ELEMENT [35HF] AMM 36-22-18-000-001 and AMM 36-22-18-400-001.
    - Connect all the cables or connectors disconnected.
    - Disconnect the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP from the BMC1 connector.
    - Install BMC1 (1HA1) AMM 36-11-34-400-001.
    - Refer to Para. 4.C.

    * If the impedance is more than 10 kOhms:
    - Disconnect the connector between sensing element 36HF and the cable 30HF.
    - Connect the connector between sensing elements 35HF and 36HF.
    - Do a check of the impedance read on the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP.

    ** If the impedance is less than 10 kOhms:
    - Replace the OVHT SENS ELEMENT [36HF] AMM 36-22-18-000-001 and AMM 36-22-18-400-001.
    - Connect all the cables or connectors disconnected.
    - Disconnect the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP from the BMC1 connector.
    - Install BMC1 (1HA1) AMM 36-11-34-400-001.
    - Refer to Para. 4.C.

    ** If the impedance is more than 10 kOhms:
    - Replace the CABLE ASSY [30HF] AMM 36-22-18-000-001 and AMM 36-22-18-400-001.
    - Connect all the cables or connectors disconnected.
    - Do a check of the impedance read on the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP.

    *** If the impedance is less than 10 kOhms:
    - Do a check and repair the wiring between pin AA/5G of BMC1 (1HA1) and cable 30HF ASM 362201.
    - Disconnect the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP from the BMC1 connector.
    - Install BMC1 (1HA1) AMM 36-11-34-400-001.
    - Refer to Para. 4.C.

    *** If the impedance is more than 10 kOhms:
    - Disconnect the 9240SI CONTROLLER-LOOP from the BMC1 connector.
    - Install BMC1 (1HA1) AMM 36-11-34-400-001.
    - Refer to Para. 4.C.
