A. If the fault symptom is identified by the maintenance message
HP BLEED-V 4000HA2 OR SENSE LINE:
  • Do a check of the unions of the sense line at the VALVE-BLEED PRESS REG [4001HA] and at the VALVE-HP BLEED [4000HA] .
   (1) If the unions are loose:
  • TORQUE to between 1.76 and 1.44 m.daN (12.98 and 10.62 lbf.ft ) T.
   (2) If the unions are correctly tightened:
     (a) Do the leak test of the sense line between the VALVE-BLEED PRESS REG [
4001HA] and the VALVE-HP BLEED [4000HA] AMM 36-11-00-720-008.
       1 If there are leaks:
  • Repair or replace the sense line between the HP bleed valve (4000HA2) and the Pressure Regulating Valve (4001HA2) AMM 36-11-49-000-820 and AMM 36-11-49-400-820.
  • TORQUE the coupling nut on the HP sense line to between 1.76 and 1.44 m.daN (12.98 and 10.62 lbf.ft ) T.
2 If there are no leaks:
  • Continue with troubleshooting.
     (b) Make sure that the position indication of the HP bleed valve on the lower ECAM DU is correct:
1 Operate the shaft valve manually:
a Turn the manual shaft of the HP Bleed valve to OPEN.
b Let the manual shaft go back to CLOSED.
     (c) If the position on the lower ECAM DU does not agree with the position indicator, or if the valve does not go back to the closed position:
     (d) If the position on the lower ECAM DU agrees with the position indicator:
1 If the test is not OK:
2 If the test is OK:
         a If the fault continues:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring from the HP bleed valve to the BMC2, pins A/1 and A/5 to pins AA/14A and AA/15A ASM 361102.
  • Refer to Para. 4D.
Subtask 36-11-00-710-662-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. If the fault symptom is identified by maintenance message AIR ENG 2 HP VALVE FAULT and there were large bleed pressure changes during flight phase 2 (ground idle) and/or flight phase 6 (top of descent):
   (1) Make sure that the IPCV is in the correct condition and not blocked in the open position AMM 36-11-41-200-001.
     (a) If the IPCV is damaged:
     (b) If the IPCV is in the correct condition:
  • Continue the trouble shooting procedure.
Subtask 36-11-00-810-264-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
C. In all other conditions:
   (1) If the fault continues:
  • Do a check of the unions of the sense line from the VALVE-BLEED PRESS REG [4001HA] and the SOLENOID-BLEED PRESS REG V CTL, ENG 2 [10HA2] .
     (a) If the unions are loose:
     (b) If the unions are correct:
1 If the bleed pressure-regulator valve does not open:
2 If the bleed pressure-regulator valve opens:
a Do a leak check of the sense line between the VALVE-BLEED PRESS REG [4001HA] and SOLENOID-BLEED PRESS REG V CTL, ENG 2 [10HA2] AMM 36-11-00-720-007.
  • If the pressure decreases very slowly:
    * Replace the VALVE-BLEED PRESS REG [4001HA] AMM 36-11-52-000-042 and AMM 36-11-52-400-042.
  • If the pressure decreases to 0 bar (0.0000 psi) in less than 20 sec:
    * Do an internal leak check of the SOLENOID-BLEED PRESS REG V CTL, ENG 2 [10HA2] AMM 36-11-55-720-001.
    * Disconnect the sense line at the SOLENOID-BLEED PRESS REG V CTL, ENG 2 [10HA2] .
    * Put a CAP - BLANKING on the sense line.
    * Pressurize the sense line to 2.07 bar (30.0228 psi) then close the shutoff valve of the pressure source.
    * If the pressure decreases:
  • Repair or replace the sense line between the VALVE-BLEED PRESS REG [4001HA] and the SOLENOID-BLEED PRESS REG V CTL, ENG 2 [10HA2] AMM 36-11-49-000-820 AMM 36-11-49-400-820.
