A. If the warning light on the ATC/TCAS control unit comes on:

Pull the C/B (Panel 49VU for ATC1, Panel 121VU for ATC2) of the selected ATC on the ATC/TCAS control unit.
If the warning light goes off, then the selected ATC is faulty.
do the BITE test of the faulty ATC AMM 34-52-00-740-004.
