DME 2 System Inoperative

1. Possible Causes

INTRG-DME, 2 [2SD2]
wiring of the DISTANCE DATA OUTPUT 2 bus from the DME interrogator 2 (2SD2) to the first terminal block
DMC-1 [1WT1]
wiring of the DME 2 INPUT bus from the DMC 1 (1WT1) to the first terminal block
DMC-3 [1WT3]
wiring of the DME 2 INPUT bus from the DMC 3 (1WT3) to the first terminal block
DMC-2 [1WT2]
wiring of the DME 2 INPUT bus from the DMC 2 (1WT2) to the first terminal block

A. Test
(1) Do the functional test of the DME AMM 34-51-00-720-001.

4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 34-51-00-810-069-A

A. If on the two NDs:
. the DME 2 data do not come into view
. the red flag is shown:

(1) If the BITE test gives a maintenance message:

(2) If the BITE test does not give a maintenance message:

(a) If the fault continues:

do a check and repair the wiring of the DISTANCE DATA OUTPUT 2 bus from the DME interrogator 2 (2SD2) to the first terminal block ASM 345101.

B. If on the CAPT ND only:
. the DME 2 data do not come into view
. the red flag is shown:

make sure that on the center pedestal, on the SWITCHING panel 8VU, the EIS DMC selector switch is at CAPT 3:

(1) If no:

(a) If the fault continues:

do a check and repair the wiring of the DME 2 INPUT bus from the DMC 1 (1WT1) to the first terminal block ASM 345101.

(2) If yes:

(a) If the fault continues:

do a check and repair the wiring of the DME 2 INPUT bus from the DMC 3 (1WT3) to the first terminal block ASM 345101.

Subtask 34-51-00-810-071-A

C. If on the F/O ND only:
. the DME 2 data do not come into view
. the red flag is shown:

make sure that on the center pedestal, on the SWITCHING panel 8VU, the EIS DMC selector switch is at F/O 3:

(1) If no:

(a) If the fault continues:

do a check and repair the wiring of the DME 2 INPUT bus from the DMC 2 (1WT2) to the first terminal block ASM 345101.

(2) If yes:

(a) If the fault continues:

do a check and repair the wiring of the DME 2 INPUT bus from the DMC 3 (1WT3) to the first terminal block ASM 345101.
