Loss of the DME 2 Tuning Data

1. Possible Causes

FMGC-2 [1CA2]
wiring of the FMGC OWN CB 1 bus from the FMGC 2 (1CA2) to the first terminal block
RMP-COM/NAV FREQ SEL, 2 [1RG2]
wiring of the DATA FROM FMGC bus from the COM/NAV FREQ SEL RMP 2 (1RG2) to the first terminal block
wiring of the NAV DATA OUTPUT bus from the COM/NAV FREQ SEL RMP 2 (1RG2) to the first terminal block
INTRG-DME, 2 [2SD2]
wiring of the FREQ FUNCT SELECT DATA INP A bus from the DME interrogator 2 (2SD2) to the first terminal block

3. Fault Confirmation
Subtask 34-51-00-740-072-A

A. Test
(1) Do the BITE test of the DME AMM 34-51-00-740-002.

4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 34-51-00-810-064-B

A. If the test gives the maintenance message FMGC2(1CA2)/RMP2(1RG2)/DME2(2SD2):

on the center pedestal, on the RMP 2, push the NAV and the VOR pushbutton switches (the green LED on these pushbutton switches comes on)
do the BITE test of the DME AMM 34-51-00-740-002.

(1) If the test does not give the maintenance message FMGC2(1CA2)/RMP2(1RG2)/ DME2(2SD2):

(a) If the Interface test of the IR gives a maintenance message related of a FMGC 2 failure:

1 If the fault continues:

do a check and repair the wiring of the FMGC OWN CB 1 bus from the FMGC 2 (1CA2) to the first terminal block ASM 228602.

(b) If the Interface test of the IR does not give a maintenance message related of a FMGC 2 failure:

replace the RMP-COM/NAV FREQ SEL, 2 [1RG2] AMM 23-13-13-000-001 and AMM 23-13-13-400-001.

1 If the fault continues:

do a check and repair the wiring of the DATA FROM FMGC bus from the COM/NAV FREQ SEL RMP 2 (1RG2) to the first terminal block ASM 231301.

(2) If the test gives again the maintenance message FMGC2(1CA2)/RMP2(1RG2)/ DME2(2SD2):

(a) If the BITE test gives a maintenance message related of a RMP 2 failure:

replace the RMP-COM/NAV FREQ SEL, 2 [1RG2] AMM 23-13-13-000-001 and AMM 23-13-13-400-001.

1 If the fault continues:

do a check and repair the wiring of the NAV DATA OUTPUT bus from the COM/NAV FREQ SEL RMP 2 (1RG2) to the first terminal block ASM 345101.

(b) If the BITE test does not give a maintenance message related of a RMP 2 failure:

1 If the fault continues:

do a check and repair the wiring of the FREQ FUNCT SELECT DATA INP A bus from the DME interrogator 2 (2SD2) to the first terminal block ASM 345101.
