TASK 33-46-00-810-801-A
Failure of the Taxi Light

1. Possible Causes
  • SW-EXT LT/NOSE (4LR)
  • wiring
  • RELAY-PWR SPLY, TAXI LT (6LR)
  • C/B-LIGHTING/EXT LT/TAXI AND TAKE OFF/TAXI [1LR]

Subtask 33-46-00-710-050-A
A. Test
Do the operational test of the taxi and take off light AMM 33-46-00-710-001.
NOTE: Do this test for the taxi light only.
4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 33-46-00-810-050-A
A. If during the operational test when you set the EXT LT/NOSE switch to the TAXI position, the taxi light does not operate correctly:
NOTE: For the GLS LEDs technology, if there are more than four LEDs that do not come on, Airbus does not make sure that sufficient lighting or a minimum of the same as obtained with the sealed beam lights will come on.
  • Do a check of the taxi and take off/taxi exterior-light lighting circuit-breaker (1LR) status.
   (1) If the circuit breaker is closed:
  • Do a check for 115VAC at pin A/2 of the taxi-light power-supply relay (6LR).
  • Do a check for 28VDC at pin A/X of the taxi-light power-supply relay (6LR).
     (a) If there is no 28VDC at pin A/X:
       1 If the fault continues:
  • Do a check of the wiring ASM 334601 between:
    . Pin 2A of the EXT LT/NOSE switch (4LR) and pin A/X of the taxi-light power-supply relay (6LR)
    . Pin AB/11K of the LGCIU 2 (5GA2) and pin A/Z of the taxi-light power-supply relay (6LR).
a If there is no continuity:
  • Repair the wiring .
         b If there is continuity:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring from pin 1A of the EXT LT/NOSE switch (4LR) to the first terminal block ASM 334601.
     (b) If there is no 115VAC at pin A/2:
       1 If the fault continues:
  • Do a check of the wiring between pin A/1 of the taxi-light power-supply relay (6LR) and the Taxi and take off/taxi exterior-light lighting circuit-breaker (1LR) ASM 334601.
a If there is no continuity:
  • Repair the wiring .
         b If there is continuity:
  • Replace C/B-LIGHTING/EXT LT/TAXI AND TAKE OFF/TAXI [1LR] .
     (c) If there is 115VAC at pin A/2 and 28VDC at pin A/X of the taxi-light power-supply relay (6LR):
1 For GLS LEDs Light Unit technology:
- Replace LT-TAXI [8LR] AMM 33-46-12-000-001 and AMM 33-46-12-400-001.
2 For ECE Light unit with incandescent lamp technology or ECE Light unit and Honeywell Light unit with halogen lamp technology:
a Remove the Lamp from the taxi light (8LR) AMM 33-46-12-960-001.
b Do a check for 28VAC at the lamp socket.
* If there is 28VAC at the lamp socket:
** For ECE Taxi Light with incandescent lamp technology:
. Replace the Lamp of the taxi light (8LR) AMM 33-46-12-960-001.
** For ECE Taxi Light and Honeywell Taxi Light with halogen lamp technology:
. Replace the Halogen Bulb of the taxi light (8LR) AMM 33-46-12-960-002.
* If there is no 28VAC at the lamp socket :
         c If the fault continues:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring ASM 334601 between:
    . Pin A/A of the taxi light (8LR) and pin A/2 of taxi-light power-supply relay (6LR)
. Pin A/B of taxi light (8LR) and the ground.
   (2) If the circuit breaker is open:
     (a) If the fault continues:
  • Replace C/B-LIGHTING/EXT LT/TAXI AND TAKE OFF/TAXI [1LR] .
Subtask 33-46-00-710-051-A
B. Do the test given in Para. 3.
