A. Test
Do the operational test of the general illumination AMM 33-12-00-710-001.
NOTE: Do this test for the instrument lighting, the supplementary reading lights, the map table lights and the center pedestal light only.
Subtask 33-12-00-710-080-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Test
   (1) Do the operational test of the general illumination AMM 33-12-00-710-001.
NOTE: Do this test for the F/O main-instrument-panel light (36LE), the Captain main-instrument-panel light (37LE) and the center main-instrument-panel light (38LE) only.
   (2) If light(s) is(are) off during the test:
Refer to the ASM 331200.
     (a) If they occur independently:
       1 If only the Captain sliding table light of the Captain main-instrument-panel light (37LE) does not come on:
  • Go to Para. A.
       2 If only the Captain lighting and loud-speaker control-panel 301VU of the Captain main-instrument-panel light (37LE) does not come on:
  • Go to Para. B.
       3 If only the F/0 sliding table light of the F/O main-instrument-panel light (36LE) does not come on:
  • Go to Para. C.
       4 If only the F/O lighting and loud-speaker control-panel 500VU of the F/O main-instrument-panel light (36LE) does not come on:
  • Go to Para. D.
       5 If only the left side of the center main-instrument-panel light (38LE) does not come on:
  • Go to Para. E.
       6 If only the right side of the center main-instrument-panel light (38LE) does not come on:
  • Go to Para. F.
     (b) If they not occur independently:
       1 If the two lights of the Captain main-instrument-panel light (37LE) do not come on:
  • Go to Para. G.
       2 If the two lights of the F/O main-instrument-panel light (36LE) do not come on:
  • Go to Para. H.
       3 If the two lights of the center main-instrument-panel light (38LE) do not come on:
  • Go to Para. J.
       4 If the lights of the Captain lighting and loud-speaker control-panel 301VU and the left side of the center main-instrument-panel light (38LE) do not come on:
  • Go to Para. K.
       5 If the lights of the F/O lighting and loud-speaker control-panel 500VU and the right side of the center main-instrument-panel light (38LE) do not come on:
  • Go to Para. L.
4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 33-12-00-810-065-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. If, during the operational test:
   (1) One main instrument-panel light (center, Captain or First Officer) does not come on:
     (a) If there is 28VDC:
     (b) If there is no 28VDC:
   (2) The FLOOD LT/MAIN PNL rheostat (35LE) is inoperative:
   (3) The center main instrument panel lights do not come on:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring between the center main instrument-panel light (38LE) and the ground terminal ASM 331202.
   (4) One of the main instrument-panel lights on the First Officer side (36LE) and one of the center main instrument-panel lights (38LE) do not come on:
  • Do a check for continuity between pin A/1 and pin A/2 of the FLOOD LT/MAIN PNL rheostat (35LE).
     (a) If there is no continuity:
     (b) If there is continuity:
  • Do a check for 28VDC at pin A/1 of the FLOOD LT/MAIN PNL rheostat (35LE) ASM 331202.
       1 If there is no 28VDC:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring between the FLOOD LT/MAIN PNL rheostat (35LE) pin A/1 and the circuit breaker (2LE).
       2 If there is 28VDC:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring from the FLOOD LT/MAIN PNL rheostat (35LE) pin A/2 to the first terminal block ASM 331202.
   (5) One of the main instrument-panel lights on the Captain side (37LE) and one of the center main instrument-panel lights (38LE) do not come on:
  • Do a check for continuity between pin A/5 and pin A/4 of the FLOOD LT/MAIN PNL rheostat (35LE).
     (a) If there is no continuity:
     (b) If there is continuity:
  • Do a check for 28VDC at pin A/5 of the FLOOD LT/MAIN PNL rheostat (35LE) ASM 331202.
       1 If there is no 28VDC:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring between the FLOOD LT/MAIN PNL rheostat (35LE) pin A/5 and the circuit breaker (1LE) ASM 331202.
       2 If there is 28VDC:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring from the FLOOD LT/MAIN PNL rheostat (35LE) pin A/4 to the first terminal block ASM 331202.
   (6) The rheostat of the main instrument panel, on the First Officer side (36LE) is not operative:
     (a) If the fault continues:
  • Repair the wiring from the First Officer main instrument panel light (36LE) pin A/B to the first terminal block ASM 331202
   (7) The rheostat of the main instrument-panel on the Captain side (37LE) is not operative:
     (a) If the fault continues:
  • Repair the wiring from the Captain main instrument panel light (37LE) pin A/B to the first terminal block ASM 331202
Subtask 33-12-00-810-065-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. If, during the operational test:
   (1) One Captain or center main instrument-panel-light does not come on:
     (a) If there is 28VDC:
     (b) If there is no 28VDC:
   (2) One F/O main instrument-panel-light does not come on:
  • Remove the defective bulb of the LT-MAIN INSTRUMENT PNL, F/O [36LE] AMM 33-12-13-960-801.
  • Make sure that there is 28VDC at the bulb socket.
     (a) If there is 28VDC:
     (b) If there is no 28VDC:
  • Do a check for continuity of the wiring related to the defective bulb ASM 331202.
       1 If there is no continuity:
       2 If there is continuity:
         a If the fault continues:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring from:
    . The F/O main instrument-panel-light (36LE) pin A/A to the relay (172LE) pin A/B2
    . The relay (172LE) pin A/X1 to the first terminal block
    . The relay (172LE) pin A/B1 to the rheostat (35LE) pin A/2.
    * If the fault continues:
    * - Do a check for ground and repair the wiring from the relay (172LE) pin A/X2 to the first terminal block.
   (3) The FLOOD LT/MAIN PNL rheostat (35LE) is inoperative:
   (4) The center main instrument-panel-lights do not come on:
     (a) Disconnect the electrical connector A of the LT-MAIN INSTRUMENT PNL, CENTER [38LE] AMM 33-12-13-000-001.
     (b) On the connector A, do a check for ground at pin A/10.
       1 If there is no ground signal:
  • Repair the wiring from the center main instrument-panel-light (38LE) pin A/10 to the ground terminal.
       2 If there is a ground signal:
         a If the fault continues:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring from:
    . The center main instrument-panel-light (38LE) pin A/9 to the relay (172LE) pin A/A2
    . The relay (172LE) pin A/A1 to the ground terminal.
   (5) One lamp of the F/O main instrument-panel-light (36LE) and one lamp of the center main instrument-panel-light (38LE) do not come on:
  • Do a check for continuity between pin A/1 and pin A/2 of the FLOOD LT/MAIN PNL rheostat (35LE).
     (a) If there is no continuity:
     (b) If there is continuity:
  • Do a check for 28VDC at pin A/1 of the FLOOD LT/MAIN PNL rheostat (35LE) ASM 331202.
       1 If there is no 28VDC:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring between the FLOOD LT/MAIN PNL rheostat (35LE) pin A/1 and the circuit breaker (2LE).
       2 If there is 28VDC:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring from the FLOOD LT/MAIN PNL rheostat (35LE) pin A/2 to the first terminal block ASM 331202.
   (6) One light of the Captain main-instrument-panel light (37LE) and one light of the center main-instrument-panel light (38LE) do not come on:
  • Do a check for continuity between pin A/5 and pin A/4 of the FLOOD LT/MAIN PNL rheostat (35LE).
     (a) If there is no continuity:
     (b) If there is continuity:
  • Do a check for 28VDC at pin A/5 of the FLOOD LT/MAIN PNL rheostat (35LE) ASM 331202.
       1 If there is no 28VDC:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring between the FLOOD LT/MAIN PNL rheostat (35LE) pin A/5 and the circuit breaker (1LE) ASM 331202.
       2 If there is 28VDC:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring from the FLOOD LT/MAIN PNL rheostat (35LE) pin A/4 to the first terminal block ASM 331202.
   (7) The rheostat of the F/O main instrument-panel-light (36LE) is not operative:
     (a) If the fault continues:
  • Repair the wiring from the F/O main instrument-panel-light (36LE) pin A/B to the first terminal block ASM 331202.
   (8) The rheostat of the Captain main instrument-panel-light (37LE) is not operative:
     (a) If the fault continues:
  • Repair the wiring from the Captain main instrument-panel-light (37LE) pin A/B to the first terminal block ASM 331202.
Subtask 33-12-00-810-065-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. The Captain sliding table light of the Captain main-instrument-panel light (37LE) does not come on:
  • Do a check for 28VDC at pin A/B of the receptacle of the Captain main-instrument-panel light (37LE) ASM 331202.
   (1) If there is 28VDC:
   (2) If there is no 28VDC:
  • Repair the wiring between the pin A/B of the receptacle of the Captain (37LE) and the first terminal block.

B. The Captain lighting and loud-speaker control-panel 301VU does not come on:
  • Do a check for continuity between the pin A/A of the receptacle of the Captain main-instrument-panel light (37LE) and the first terminal block ASM 331202.
   (1) If there is no continuity:
  • Repair the wiring .
   (2) If there is continuity:

C. The F/0 sliding table light of the F/O main-instrument-panel light (36LE) does not come on:
  • Do a check for 28VDC at pin A/B of the receptacle of the F/O main-instrument-panel light (36LE) ASM 331202.
   (1) If there is 28VDC:
   (2) If there is no 28VDC:
  • Repair the wiring between the pin A/B of the receptacle of the F/O main-instrument-panel light (36LE) and the first terminal block.
Subtask 33-12-00-810-074-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
D. The F/O lighting and loud-speaker control-panel 500VU of the F/O main-instrument-panel light (36LE) does no come on:
  • Do a check for continuity between the pin A/A of the receptacle of the F/O main-instrument-panel light (36LE) and the pin A/B2 of the receptacle of the relay (172LE) ASM 331202.
   (1) If there is no continuity:
  • Repair the wiring .
   (2) If there is continuity:
  • Do a check for continuity between the pin A/B2 of the receptacle of the relay (172LE) and the first terminal block ASM 331200.
     (a) If there is no continuity:
  • Repair the wiring .
     (b) If there is continuity:
       1 If the fault continues:
  • Replace the relay 172LE .
Subtask 33-12-00-810-075-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
E. The left side of the center main-instrument-panel light (38LE) does not come on:
  • Do a check for a ground signal at pin A/10 of the receptacle of the center main-instrument-panel light (38LE) ASM 331202.
   (1) If there is no ground signal:
  • Repair the wiring between the pin A/10 of the receptacle of the center and the ground terminal.
   (2) If there is a ground signal:
  • Do a check for continuity between the pin A/8 of the receptacle of the center main-instrument-panel light (38LE) and the first terminal block ASM 331202:
     (a) If there is no continuity:
  • Repair the wiring.
     (b) If there is continuity:

F. The right side of the center main-instrument-panel light (38LE) does not come on:
  • Do a check for continuity between the ASM 331200:
    - Pin A/9 of the receptacle of the center main-instrument-panel light (38LE) and the pin A/A2 of the receptacle of the relay (172LE)
    - Pin A/7 of the receptacle of the center main-instrument-panel light (38LE) and the pin A/C2 of the receptacle of the relay (172LE).
   (1) If there is no continuity:
  • Repair the related wiring .
   (2) If there is continuity:
  • Do a check for continuity between the pin A/C1 of the receptacle of the relay (172LE) and the first terminal block ASM 331200.
     (a) If there is no continuity:
  • Repair the wiring .
     (b) If there is continuity:
  • Do a check for a ground signal at pin A/A1 of the receptacle of the relay (172LE) ASM 331202.
       1 If there is no ground signal:
  • Repair the wiring pin A/A1 of the receptacle of the relay (172LE) and the ground terminal.
       2 If there is a ground signal:
         a If the fault continues:
  • Replace the relay 172LE .

G. The two lights of the Captain main-instrument-panel light (37LE) do not come on:
  • Do a check for a ground signal at pin A/C of the receptacle of the Captain main-instrument-panel light (37LE) ASM 331202.
   (1) If there is no ground signal:
  • Repair the wiring .
   (2) If there is a ground signal:

H. The two lights of the F/O main-instrument-panel light (36LE) do not come on:
  • Do a check for a ground signal at pin A/C of the receptacle of the F/O main-instrument-panel light (36LE) ASM 331202.

  • Repair the wiring between the pin A/C of the receptacle of the F/O main-instrument-panel light (36LE) and the ground terminal.
   (2) If there is a ground signal:

  • Do a check for continuity between the ASM 331200:
    - Pin A/4 of the receptacle of the flood light/main panel double-control-box (52LE) and first branch point
    - Pin A/5 of the receptacle of the flood light/main panel double-control-box (52LE) and first branch point.
   (1) If there is no continuity:
  • Repair the related wiring .
   (2) If there is continuity:

K. The F/O lighting and loud-speaker control-panel 500VU and the right side of the center main-instrument-panel light (38LE) do not come on:
  • Do a check for a ground signal at pin A/X2 of the receptacle of the flood light/main panel double-control-box (52LE) ASM 331202.
   (1) If there is no ground signal:
  • Repair the wiring between pin A/X2 of the receptacle of the flood light/main panel double-control-box (52LE) and the ground terminal.
   (2) If there is a ground signal:
  • Do a check for 28VDC at pin A/X1 of the receptacle of the center main-instrument-panel light (38LE) ASM 331202.
     (a) If there is no 28VDC:
  • Repair the wiring between the pin A/X1 of the receptacle of the center main-instrument-panel light (38LE) and the first terminal block.
     (b) If there is 28VDC:
  • Do a check for 28VDC at pin A/1 of the receptacle of the receptacle of the flood light/main panel double-control-box (52LE) ASM 331202.
       1 If there is no 28VDC:
  • Repair the wiring between the pin A/X1 of the flood light/main panel double-control-box (52LE) and the first terminal block.
       2 If there is 28VDC:
  • Do a check for continuity between the pin A/2 of the receptacle of the flood light/main panel double-control-box (52LE) and the first terminal block.
         a If there is no continuity:
  • Repair the wiring .
         b If there is continuity: Replace CTL BOX-DOUBLE, FLOOD LT/ MAIN PANEL [52LE] AMM 33-12-17-000-802 and AMM 33-12-17-400-802.
* If the fault continues:
* - Replace the relay 172LE .
