Subtask 32-31-00-860-103-A
A. Procedure
NOTE: Maintenance work before the last flight is a possible cause of the fault message(s) 'LG EXT PROX SNSR TGT POS' and(or) 'LG SHOCK ABSORBER'. This includes:
  • Work done on the MLG or NLG shock absorber(s)
  • Aircraft lifted on jacks
  • False targets installed on the MLG or NLG shock absorber proximity sensor(s).
   (1) If one or more of the fault message(s) that follow is(are) shown on the PFR, with no ECAM warning shown:
  • R LG EXT PROX SNSR(20GA) TGT POS
  • L LG EXT PROX SNSR(21GA) TGT POS
  • R LG EXT PROX SNSR(22GA) TGT POS
  • L LG EXT PROX SNSR(23GA) TGT POS
  • N LG EXT PROX SNSR(24GA) TGT POS
  • N LG EXT PROX SNSR(25GA) TGT POS
  • N LG SHOCK ABSORBER (2526GM)
  • L LG SHOCK ABSORBER (2501GM)
  • R LG SHOCK ABSORBER (2502GM).
NOTE: The fault messages are related to the components installed.
NOTE: The Fault Confirmation that follows is only applicable to LGCIU PN 80-178-0X-8801X (where X = 2 or 3).
     (a) Get access to the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST L/G page AMM 31-32-00-860-009.
     (b) Select LGCIU-1 or LGCIU-2.
     (c) Select trouble shooting data (TSD).
     (d) The TSD shows 1X00 on word 4:
  • 1 shows the aircraft on ground
  • X is not applicable
  • 00 shows the BITE recording command from the CFDS was null.
     (e) Refer to Table 1:
Table 1
! Word 1! Word 2! Word 3! Word 4! Word 5!
! XXXX ! XXXX ! XXXX ! 1X00 ! XXXX !
! XXXX ! XXXX ! XXXX ! XXXX ! XXXX !
! XXXX ! XXXX ! XXXX ! XXXX ! XXXX !

NOTE: This shows that the fault has occurred on the ground.
       1 If:
  • The aircraft was lifted on jacks
    or
  • False targets were installed on the shock absorber proximity sensor(s)
    or
  • Maintenance was done on the L(R) MLG shock absorber(s) before the flight
    and(or)
  • Maintenance was done on the NLG shock absorber before the flight:
a No more maintenance steps are necessary.
b Go to the Para. Close-Up.
       2 If:
  • The aircraft was not lifted on jacks
    or
  • False targets were not installed on the shock absorber proximity sensor(s)
    or
  • No maintenance was done on the L(R) MLG shock absorber(s) before the flight
    and(or)
  • No maintenance was done on the NLG shock absorber before the flight:
a Do the Fault Isolation from Para. 4. A. (1).
4. Fault Isolation
