Left Flap Disconnect Proximity Sensor

TASK 32-31-00-810-828-A
Left Flap Disconnect Proximity Sensor

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.
WARNING: PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
  • THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
  • THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
  • THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
  • COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
MOVEMENT OF COMPONENTS CAN KILL OR CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
1. Possible Causes
  • LGCIU-1 [5GA1]
  • LGCIU-2 [5GA2]
  • SENSOR-L FLAP ATTACHMENT FAILURE DETECTION [37CV]
  • SENSOR-L FLAP ATTACHMENT FAILURE DETECTION [39CV]
  • aircraft wiring

3. Fault Confirmation
Subtask 32-31-00-740-068-A
A. Test
   (1) Do a BITE test with the LGCIU (1 or 2) that is the source of the CFDS message AMM 32-69-00-740-001.
     (a) If the test gives a message that includes DISC PROX SNSR do the fault isolation.
NOTE: If a fault occurs on the two proximity sensors of the same interconnecting strut (the RH wing: 38CV and 40 CV or the LH wing: 37CV and 39CV)
  • a F/CTL FLAPS FAULT, ECAM WARNING is shown on top of the SFCS Maintenance Status when flaps are in configuration 1, 2 or 3.
4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 32-31-00-810-079-A
A. Procedure
   (1) Interchange the LGCIUs AMM 32-31-71-000-001 and AMM 32-31-71-400-001.
NOTE: This will cause each LGCIU to get a new identification.
   (2) Do the test in Para. 3. A. (1) with the new LGCIU (1 or 2).
   (3) If the test is OK (does not give the same message as shown during the initial BITE test):
     (a) Replace the LGCIU-1 [5GA1] or LGCIU-2 [5GA2] used for the initial test.
     (b) Make sure that the serviceable LGCIU is installed in its initial position.
   (4) If the test is not OK (gives the same message as shown during the initial BITE test):
     (a) Replace the applicable SENSOR-L FLAP ATTACHMENT FAILURE DETECTION [37CV] or SENSOR-L FLAP ATTACHMENT FAILURE DETECTION [39CV] , AMM 27-51-15-000-002 and AMM 27-51-15-400-002.
     (b) If the fault continues:
  • Do a check of the aircraft wiring between the applicable proximity sensor and the related LGCIU ASM 275106 or ASM 275107
  • Do the repair
  • Do the test in Para. 3. A. (1).
