L/G Selector Lever Deselection

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.
WARNING: PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
  • THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
  • THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
  • THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
  • COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
MOVEMENT OF COMPONENTS CAN KILL OR CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
NOTE: GROUND SCANNING is applicable to P/N 664700500A4x LGCIU
  • GROUND REPORT is applicable to P/N 80-178-xx LGCIU
1. Possible Causes
  • LGCIU-1 [5GA1]
  • LGCIU-2 [5GA2]
  • LEVER-L/G NORM CTL [6GA]
  • wiring

3. Fault Confirmation
Subtask 32-31-00-710-053-A
A. The ECAM and PFR/CFDS messages show a malfunction of the L/G selector circuit, this circuit is not a BITE test subject.
   (1) Do the fault isolation.
4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 32-31-00-810-060-A
A. Procedure
   (1) Interchange the LGCIU-1 with LGCIU-2 AMM 32-31-71-000-001 and AMM 32-31-71-400-001.
   (2) Do the operational test of the L/G doors AMM 32-31-00-710-002.
     (a) During the L/G doors operational test, if the fault moves to the LGCIU-2 (1) position, the fault is in LGCIU-1 (2).
     (b) If the fault stays in the LGCIU-1 (2) electrical circuit, go to Para. 4.A.(4).
   (3) Replace the faulty LGCIU-1 [5GA1] LGCIU-2 [5GA2] . Refer to Para. 4.(1) and (2).
     (a) Do a check of the UPPER ECAM and make sure that the fault warning clears.
     (b) Do the GROUND SCANNING / REPORT and make sure that the ground log is clear of L/G control lever or LGCIUs fault messages. Print the GROUND SCANNING / REPORT.
NOTE: If the L/G doors have been opened manually by the door ground-control-handle, there will be doors fault messages. Ignore these messages.
   (4) During the procedure in Para. 4.(2)(a), if the fault stays in the LGCIU-1 (2) electrical circuit, replace the LEVER-L/G NORM CTL [6GA] AMM 32-31-11-000-001 AMM 32-31-11-400-001.
   (5) Do the operational test of the L/G doors AMM 32-31-00-710-002.
   (6) If the fault does not clear do a check of the 28Vdc supply from the LEVER-L/G NORM CTL [6GA] to the ARINC tray connecter for LGCIU-1 (2) ASM 323105 ASM 323106.
   (7) If there is a circuit fault do a wiring /connector repair and do the operational test of the L/G doors AMM 32-31-00-710-002.
   (8) Do the GROUND SCANNING / REPORT and make sure that the ground log contains no new messages. Check the time stamps against the previous GROUND SCANNING / REPORT applicable to the L/G control lever or LGCIUs fault messages.
NOTE: The GROUND SCANNING / REPORT is a non-volatile log that can only be cleared by a signal from the CFDS at engine start.
NOTE: If the L/G doors have been opened manually by the door ground-control-handle, there will be doors fault messages. Ignore these messages.
   (9) Do a check of the UPPER ECAM and make sure that the fault warning clears.
5. Close-up
