1. Possible Causes

A. Test
(1) Not applicable, the fault is evident.

4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 30-45-00-810-058-A

A. If the fault is identified by the crew observation:
(1) Do the inspection/check of the operation of the windshield wipers AMM 30-45-00-200-001.
(2) Do a check of the sweeping angle area:

Sweeping Angle

CAUTION: DO NOT OPERATE THE WIPERS WHEN THE WINDSHIELD IS DRY. PUT WATER ON THE WINDSHIELD WHEN THE WIPERS OPERATE.

(a) If the wiper sweeping angle is more than 59 degrees or less than 53 degrees:

Replace MOTOR CONVERTER-WIPER, CAPT [6DB1] MOTOR CONVERTER-WIPER, F/O [6DB2] AMM 30-45-51-000-001 and AMM 30-45-51-400-001.

(b) If the angle of the wiper in the parking position is more than 17 degrees or less than 15 degrees:

Replace MOTOR CONVERTER-WIPER, CAPT [6DB1] MOTOR CONVERTER-WIPER, F/O [6DB2] AMM 30-45-51-000-001 and AMM 30-45-51-400-001.

(3) Do a check of the wiping cycle AMM 30-45-00-720-001:

CAUTION: DO NOT OPERATE THE WIPERS WHEN THE WINDSHIELD IS DRY. PUT WATER ON THE WINDSHIELD WHEN THE WIPERS OPERATE.

(a) If the wiper speed is less than 95 cycles per minute (plus or minus 15 percent) at normal speed:

Replace MOTOR CONVERTER-WIPER, CAPT [6DB1] MOTOR CONVERTER-WIPER, F/O [6DB2] AMM 30-45-51-000-001 and AMM 30-45-51-400-001.

(b) If the wiper speed is less than 140 cycles per minute (plus or minus 15 percent) at high speed:

Replace MOTOR CONVERTER-WIPER, CAPT [6DB1] MOTOR CONVERTER-WIPER, F/O [6DB2] AMM 30-45-51-000-001 and AMM 30-45-51-400-001.

(4) Do a check of the wiper assembly:
(a) If you find damage on the wiper arm:

Replace ARM-WIPER, CAPT [307DM] ARM-WIPER, F/O [306DM] AMM 30-45-52-000-002 and AMM 30-45-52-400-002.

(b) If you find damage on the wiper blade:

Replace BLADE-WIPER, CAPT [305DM] BLADE-WIPER, F/O [304DM] AMM 30-45-53-000-001 and AMM 30-45-53-400-001.

(5) Do a check of the windshield wiper pressure:
(a) If the windshield wiper pressure is more than 5.39 daN (12.12 lbf) or less than 1.96 daN (4.41 lbf):

Do the adjustment of the force of the blade on the windshield AMM 30-45-52-400-002.

(b) If the fault continues:

Replace ARM-WIPER, CAPT [307DM] ARM-WIPER, F/O [306DM] AMM 30-45-52-000-002 and AMM 30-45-52-400-002, replace BLADE-WIPER, CAPT [305DM] BLADE-WIPER, F/O [304DM] AMM 30-45-53-000-001 and AMM 30-45-53-400-001 and replace MOTOR CONVERTER-WIPER, CAPT [6DB1] MOTOR CONVERTER-WIPER, F/O [6DB2] AMM 30-45-51-000-001 and AMM 30-45-51-400-001.
