3. Fault Confirmation
Subtask 30-42-00-710-056-A
A. Test
   (1) Do the operational test of the windshield anti-icing and defogging AMM 30-42-00-710-001.
4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 30-42-00-865-052-A
A. Table of the circuit breakers used in this procedure:
PANELDESIGNATIONFINLOCATION
** ON A/C ALL
122VUANTI ICE/WHC/25DG2W13
Subtask 30-42-00-810-053-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. If the test gives the maintenance message R WINDSHIELD SENSOR associated with ECAM warning ANTI-ICE R WINDSHIELD, or ANTI-ICE R WINDOW:
   (1) If the ECAM warning is triggered on ground with OAT greater than 40 deg.C or if the cockpit window/windshield is directly heading to the sun and air conditioning packs selected off:
  • Select air conditioning PACK on.
  • After 5 minutes, open and close C/B 5DG2 to reset WHC2.
   (2) If the fault continues:
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the R windshield (3DG2) and do a check of the resistance between pins A/C and A/D on the receptacle of the R windshield (3DG2).
F R Windshield Electrical Connector ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
     (a) If the resistance is out of the limits (more than 715 ohms (open circuit) or less than 370 ohms (short circuit)) or is not correct (see 'sensor resistance versus temperature' abacus):
NOTE: If only one sensor is available we recommend the replacement of the WINDSHIELD-R (3DG2) if you operate in icing conditions.
  • Make sure that the connector pins are not damaged.
  • Do a check of the resistance of the sensor 3 between pins A/D and A/E for correct value.
F R Windshield Electrical Connector ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
1 If the resistance of the sensor 3 is correct:
2 If the resistance of the sensor 3 is out of the limits (more than 715 ohms (open circuit) or less than 370 ohms (short circuit)) or is not correct (see 'sensor resistance versus temperature' abacus) and if a third sensor is installed in the windshield (in relation with the part number) :
  • Make sure that the connector pins are not damaged.
  • Do a check of the resistance of the sensor 2 between pins A/E and A/F for correct value.
F R Windshield Electrical Connector ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
a If the resistance of the sensor 2 is correct:
b If the resistance of the sensor 2 is not correct or is out of limits:
       3 If the fault continues:
       4 If the fault continues:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring from the WHC 2 (2DG2) to the R windshield (3DG2) pins B/A and B/B to pins A/C and A/D or pins B/A and B/B to pins A/E and A/F or pins B/A and B/B to pins A/D and A/E.
     (b) If the resistance is correct:
       1 If the fault continues:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring from the WHC 2 (2DG2) to the R windshield (3DG2) pins B/A and B/B to pins A/C and A/D or pins B/A and B/B to pins A/E and A/F or pins B/A and B/B to pins A/D and A/E.
       2 If the fault continues:
Subtask 30-42-00-810-053-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. If the test gives maintenance message R WINDSHIELD SENSOR:
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the R windshield (3DG2) and do a check of the resistance between pins A/C and A/D on the receptacle of the R windshield (3DG2).
   (1) If the resistance is out of the limits (more than 715 ohms (open circuit) or less than 370 ohms (short circuit)) or is not correct (see 'sensor resistance versus temperature' abacus):
NOTE: If only one sensor is available we recommend the replacement of the WINDSHIELD-R (3DG2) if you operate in icing conditions.
  • Make sure that the connector pins are not damaged.
  • Do a check of the resistance of sensor 3 between pins A/D and A/E for correct value.

     (b) If the resistance of sensor 3 is out of the limits (more than 715 ohms (open circuit) or less than 370 ohms (short circuit)) or is not correct (see 'sensor resistance versus temperature' abacus):
  • Make sure that the connector pins are not damaged.
  • Do a check of the resistance of sensor 2 between pins A/E and A/F for correct value.
1 If the resistance of sensor 2 is correct:
2 If sensor 2 resistance is not correct:
     (c) If the fault continues:
     (d) If the fault continues:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring from the WHC 2 (2DG2) to R windshield (3DG2) pins B/A and B/B to pins A/C and A/D or pins B/A and B/B to pins A/E and A/F.
   (2) If the resistance is correct:
     (a) If the fault continues:
