A. Test
(1) Do the operational test of the windshield anti-icing and defogging AMM 30-42-00-710-001.

B. If the test gives maintenance message L WINDSHIELD SENSOR associated with ECAM warning ANTI-ICE L WINDSHIELD or ANTI-ICE L WINDOW:
(1) If the ECAM warning is triggered on ground with OAT greater than 40 deg.C or if the cockpit window/windshield is directly heading to the sun and air conditioning packs selected off:
(a) On the AIR COND panel 30VU:

Select air conditioning PACK on (OFF legend off).
After 5 minutes, open and close C/B 5DG1 to reset WHC1.
Select air conditioning PACK off (OFF legend on).

(2) If the fault continues:

Disconnect the electrical connector from the L windshield (3DG1) and do a check of the resistance between pin A/C and pin A/D on the receptacle of the L windshield (3DG1).
L Windshield Electrical Connector ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(a) If the resistance is out of the limits (more than 715 ohms (open circuit) or less than 370 ohms (short circuit)) or is not correct (see 'sensor resistance versus temperature' abacus):

NOTE: If only one sensor is available we recommend the replacement of the L windshield (3DG1) if you operate in icing conditions.

Make sure that the connector pins are not damaged.
Do a check of the resistance of sensor 3 between pins A/D and A/E for correct value.
L Windshield Electrical Connector ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

1 If the resistance of sensor 3 is correct:

Disconnect the wiring from pin A/D (or A/F) and connect it to pin A/E AWM 304201 and ASM 304201.
Disconnect the wiring from pin A/C (or A/E) and connect it to pin A/D AWM 304201 and ASM 304201.

2 If the resistance of sensor 3 is out of the limits (more than 715 ohms (open circuit) or less than 370 ohms (short circuit)) or is not correct (see 'sensor resistance versus temperature' abacus) and if a third sensor is installed in the windshield (in relation with the part number) :

Make sure that the connector pins are not damaged.
Do a check of the resistance of sensor 2 between pins A/E and A/F for correct value.
L Windshield Electrical Connector ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

a If the resistance of sensor 2 is correct:

Disconnect the wiring from pin A/C and connect it to pin A/E AWM 304201 and ASM 304201.
Disconnect the wiring from pin A/D and connect it to pin A/F AWM 304201 and ASM 304201.

b If the sensor 2 resistance is not correct or is out of the limits:

Replace the WINDSHIELD-L [3DG1] , AMM 56-11-11-000-001 and AMM 56-11-11-400-001.
Put the wiring back to its serviceable configuration AWM 304201 and ASM 304201.

3 If the fault continues:

Replace the WHC-1 [2DG1] , AMM 30-42-34-000-001 and AMM 30-42-34-400-001.

4 If the fault continues:

Do a check and repair the wiring from the WHC 1 (2DG1) to the L windshield (3DG1) pin B/A and pin B/B to pins A/C and A/D or pins B/A and B/B to pins A/E and A/F or pins B/A and B/B to pins A/D and A/E.

(b) If the resistance is correct:

Replace the WHC-1 [2DG1] , AMM 30-42-34-000-001 and AMM 30-42-34-400-001.

1 If the fault continues:

Do a check and repair the wiring from the WHC 1 (2DG1) to the L windshield (3DG1) pin B/A and pin B/B to pins A/C and A/D or pins B/A and B/B to pins A/E and A/F or pins B/A and B/B to pins A/D and A/E.

2 If the fault continues:

Replace the WINDSHIELD-L [3DG1] , AMM 56-11-11-000-001 and AMM 56-11-11-400-001.

B. If the test gives maintenance message L WINDSHIELD SENSOR:

Disconnect the electrical connector from the L windshield (3DG1) and do a check of the resistance between pin A/C and pin A/D on the receptacle of the L windshield (3DG1).

(1) If the resistance is out of the limits (more than 715 ohms (open circuit) or less than 370 ohms (short circuit)) or is not correct (see 'sensor resistance versus temperature' abacus):

NOTE: If only one sensor is available we recommend the replacement of L windshield (3DG1) if you operate in icing conditions.

(a) If the resistance of sensor 3 is correct:

Connect pins B/A and B/B of the WHC1 (2DG1) to pins A/D and A/E of sensor 3 ESPM 2044110 and ASM 304201.

(b) If the resistance of sensor 3 is out of the limits (more than 715 ohms (open circuit) or less than 370 ohms (short circuit)) or is not correct (see 'sensor resistance versus temperature' abacus):

Make sure that the connector pins are not damaged.
Do a check of the resistance of sensor 2 between pins A/E and A/F for correct value.
L Windshield Electrical Connector

1 If the resistance of sensor 2 is correct:

Connect pins B/A and B/B of the WHC1 (2DG1) to pins A/E and A/F of sensor 2 ESPM 2044110 and ASM 304201.

2 If the resistance of sensor 2 is not correct:

Replace WINDSHIELD-L [3DG1] , AMM 56-11-11-000-001 and AMM 56-11-11-400-001.

Replace WHC-1 [2DG1] , AMM 30-42-34-000-001 and AMM 30-42-34-400-001.

(d) If the fault continues:

Do a check and repair the wiring from the WHC 1 (2DG1) to L windshield (3DG1) pin B/A and pin B/B to pins A/C and A/D or pins B/A and B/B to pins A/E and A/F.

(2) If the resistance is correct:

Replace WHC-1 [2DG1] , AMM 30-42-34-000-001 and AMM 30-42-34-400-001.

(a) If the fault continues:

Do a check and repair the wiring from the WHC 1 (2DG1) to L windshield (3DG1) pin B/A and pin B/B to pins A/C and A/D or pin B/A and pin B/B to pins A/E and A/F.

(b) If the fault continues:

Replace WINDSHIELD-L [3DG1] , AMM 56-11-11-000-001 and AMM 56-11-11-400-001.
