3. Fault Confirmation
Subtask 30-21-00-730-066-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Test
   (1) Not applicable, you cannot confirm this fault on the ground.
4. Fault Isolation
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE AFTER SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE CAN STAY HOT FOR A LONG TIME. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS WARNING, INJURY CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU REMOVE ELECTRICAL POWER FROM THE EEC BEFORE YOU REMOVE THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE EEC CAN OCCUR.
Subtask 30-21-00-810-078-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. If there is confirmation of the fault:
   (1) Open the right fan cowl-door AMM 71-13-00-010-802.
   (2) Make sure that electrical connector 4113VC-A of the NAI thermocouple-assembly overheat is correctly engaged in 4113VC of the W04 harness.
     (a) If it is not correctly engaged, engage it.
  • After the subsequent flight, make sure that the fault does not continue.
   (3) Do a visual inspection of the forward NAI duct for discoloration, loose or damaged interfaces or damage along the length of the duct AMM 30-21-49-220-801.
     (a) If you find discoloration, loose or damaged interfaces or damage on the forward NAI duct:
     (b) If the fault continues, or if electrical connector 4113VC-A is correctly engaged, disconnect electrical connector 4113VC-A from electrical connector 4113VC.
  • Examine electrical connector 4113VC-A for bent pins, contamination, corrosion or visual signs of damage.
1 If you find damage on electrical connector 4113VC-A:
2 If you find no damage on electrical connector or the fault continues, do a resistance check of the thermocouple 1 and 2 AWM 715134 between:
. Pin 4113VCA/4 and pin 4113VCA/12 of the NAI thermocouple assembly overheat
. Pin 4113VCA/6 and pin 4113VCA/7 of the NAI thermocouple assembly overheat.
a If the resistance is more than 250 ohm:
b If the resistance is less than 250 ohm:
  • Do a resistance check AWM 715134 between:
    . Pin 4113VCA/3 and pin 4113VCA/11 of RTD 1
    . Pin 4113VCA/8 and pin 4113VCA/9 of RTD 2.
  • * If the resistance is more than 250 ohm:
  • Replace the THERMOCOUPLE ASSEMBLY, OVERHEAT INDICATION, FAN CASE [4160KS] AMM 30-21-24-000-801 and AMM 30-21-24-400-801.
  • After the subsequent flight, make sure that the fault does not continue.
  • * If the resistance is less than 250 ohm:
  • Use PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to disconnect electrical connectors P13 and P5 from the EEC:
  • Examine electrical connectors of P13 and P5 for bent pins, contamination or corrosion or visual signs of damage.
  • If you find damage on the electrical connectors:
  • Replace the W04 HARNESS [4088KS] AMM 73-21-64-000-802 and AMM 73-21-64-400-802.
  • After the subsequent flight, make sure that the fault does not continue.
  • If you find no damage on the electrical connectors:
Do a continuity check of the W04 harness AWM 715134 between:
. Pin P13/m of the EEC and pin J55/12 of the 4113VC
. Pin P13/k of the EEC and pin J55/4 of the 4113VC
. Pin P5/M of the EEC and pin J55/3 of the 4113VC
. Pin P5/N of the EEC and pin J55/11 of the 4113VC.
  • If there is no continuity:
  • Replace the W04 HARNESS [4088KS] AMM 73-21-64-000-802 and AMM 73-21-64-400-802.
  • After the subsequent flight, make sure that the fault does not continue.
  • If there is continuity:
  • Use PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to disconnect electrical connectors P14 and P6 from the EEC:
  • Examine electrical connectors of P14 and P6 for bent pins, contamination or corrosion or visual signs of damage.
  • If you find damage on the electrical connectors:
  • Replace the W03 HARNESS [4087KS] AMM 73-21-63-000-802 and AMM 73-21-63-400-802.
  • After the subsequent flight, make sure that the fault does not continue.
  • If you find no damage on the electrical connectors:
Do a continuity check AWM 715134 of the W03 harness between:
. Pin P14/m of the EEC and pin P107/42 of the 4101VC
. Pin P14/k of the EEC and pin P107/43 of the 4101VC
. Pin P6/M of the EEC and pin P107/44 of the 4101VC
. Pin P6/N of the EEC and pin P107/45 of the 4101VC.
  • If there is no continuity:
  • Replace the W03 HARNESS [4087KS] AMM 73-21-63-000-802 and AMM 73-21-63-400-802.
  • After the subsequent flight, make sure that the fault does not continue.
If there is continuity:
Do a continuity check of the W04 harness AWM 715134 between:
. Pin J107/42 of the 4101VC and pin J55/7 of the 4113VC
