3. Fault Confirmation
Subtask 28-46-00-710-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Test
   (1) Use the procedure AMM 28-46-00-710-001 and do a test of the HI LVL lights, do not include Para. 4.B.
NOTE: The OPEN DEFUEL/XFR lamp (21QU) should also come on during the time the TEST switch is set at LTS.
The OPEN DEFUEL/XFR indicator lamp (21QU):
  • 28VDC supply is from a different C/B
  • switched ground/earth uses the same contacts of SWITCH-TEST/HIGH/LTS (2QJ).
4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 28-46-00-810-075-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Procedure
   (1) At the CTL PNL-REFUEL/DEFUEL (800VU), set and hold the TEST switch to LTS.
   (2) If the HI LVL indicator lamps on the CTL PNL-REFUEL/DEFUEL (800VU) fail to come on, Trouble-shoot those indicators as follows:
   (3) If the ACT 1 HI LVL indicator lamp (49QJ) on the CTL PNL-REFUEL/DEFUEL (ACT) (801VU) does not come on:
  • replace the ACT 1 HI LVL indicator lamp filament .
   (4) If the fault continues:
   (5) Do a check, with a MULTIMETER - STANDARD, to see if ASM 284601:
     (a) 28VDC is available at the free connector 4067VC-A, pin B.
     (b) A ground/earth is available at the free connector 4067VC-A, pin C while the TEST switch is set in the LTS position.
   (6) If the 28VDC and the ground/earth is available at the free connector as specified above:
NOTE: If due to airline operational conditions it is not possible to replace the CTL PNL-REFUEL/DEFUEL (ACT) (801VU) and internal Trouble-shooting is required, go to Step (14).
   (7) If the 28VDC is not available in Step (5)(a), do a check of the aircraft wiring ASM 284601:
  • between the free connector 4067VC-A, pin B and the free connector 4023VC-A, pin W (28VDC supply line).
   (8) If the ground/earth is not available in Step (5)(b), do a check of the aircraft wiring ASM 284601:
  • between the free connector 4067VC-A, pin C and the free connector 4023VC-A, pin X (ground/earth line).
   (9) Repair all the unserviceable wiring and connectors.
   (10) Do the test given in Para. 3.A.
   (11) If the fault continues:
   (12) Do a continuity test, at the connector 4023VC between the pins <C and W ASM 282503, the test should show a low resistance.
   (13) If the test between the pins <C and W does not show a low resistance:
NOTE: If due to airline operational conditions it is not possible to replace the CTL PNL-REFUEL/DEFUEL (800VU) and internal Trouble-shooting is required, go to Step (17).
   (14) CTL PNL-REFUEL/DEFUEL (ACT) (801VU) Internal Trouble-shooting, ASM 284601:
     (a) Do a check of and replace as necessary:
  • the [49QJ] , part of 801VU
  • the diode between terminals 1 and 2 of diode module (4003VD), Part of 801VU.
     (b) Do a check of and repair as necessary the CTL PNL-REFUEL/DEFUEL (ACT) (801VU) internal wiring as follows:
  • between the connector 4067VC, pin B and IND-HI LVL ACT (49QJ), terminal 4
  • between the IND-HI LVL ACT (49QJ), terminal 5 and terminals III, II, and I (loop connections)
  • between the IND-HI LVL ACT (49QJ), terminal II and diode module 4003VD, terminal 1
  • between the diode module 4003VD, terminal 2 and connector 4067VC, pin C.
   (15) Install the CTL PNL-REFUEL/DEFUEL (ACT) (801VU) AMM 28-25-58-400-001.
   (16) Do the test given in Para. 3.A.
   (17) CTL PNL-REFUEL/DEFUEL (800VU) Internal Trouble-shooting, ASM 282503:
     (a) Do a check of and repair as necessary the CTL PNL-REFUEL/DEFUEL (800VU) internal wiring as follows:
  • between the connector 4023VC, pin <C and terminal block 4001VT, terminal 5C
  • between the connector 4023VC, pin W and terminal block 4001VT, terminal 5K.
   (18) Install the CTL PNL-REFUEL/DEFUEL (800VU) AMM 28-25-55-400-001.
   (19) Do the test given in Para. 3.A.
