A. Test
(1) If the automatic fuel transfer, stops when the ACT 2 gets to low level, do the steps that follow:
(b) Push (in) the P/BSW-24QH (to set the ACT transfer mode to MANUAL).
(c) Look at the ECAM FUEL page for the items that follow:
1 As specified in step (c)
a Do Para. 4.A - For FLSCU-3, ACT 2 low level sensor channel outputs to the relay-panel 802VU troubleshooting and th
b Do Para. 4.B. - If a serviceable spare relay-panel 802VU is available.
c Do Para. 4.C. - If a serviceable spare relay-panel 802VU is not available - for internal troubleshooting of ACT 2 low level sensor automatic/manual (series/parrallel) relay switching.
2 Not as specified in step (b) and remain unchanged, do ACT 2 Manual Transfer/Sequence Failure (On The Ground) (Ref. TSM TASK 28-28-00-810-807).
4. Fault Isolation(1) If the automatic fuel transfer, stops when the ACT 2 gets to low level, do the steps that follow:
NOTE: During an automatic ACT fuel transfer the outputs, from the FLSCU-3, ACT 2, two low level sensor channels, are connected in series to the control logic of the relay-panel 802VU. If all the usable fuel from ACT 2 has been transfered a fault, in one of the items that follow, can cause the automatic fuel transfer to stop (at that point in the sequence):
During a manual ACT fuel transfer the same two low level sensor outputs from the FLSCU-3 are connected in parallel. The output from one sensor (at low level) is sufficient to give an empty signal (a ground) to the control logic and cause the fuel transfer to changeover from ACT 2 to ACT 1.
The trouble-shooting logic assumes that there is only one fault at a given time.
(a) Connect the RIN28108706000 TESTBOX-ACT 802VU to the RELAY PANEL (802VU): - the FLSCU-3 (47QJ) ACT 2 low level sensor channel LS2 - 66QT2
- the FLSCU-3 (47QJ) ACT 2 low level sensor channel LS8 - 65QT2
- the ground input to FLSCU-3, pin 9A (low level sensor channel LS2 - 66QT2)
- the aircraft wiring between the FLSCU-3 and the relay-panel 802VU (related low level sensor channel outputs)
- the related low level relay contacts and the (series) wiring connection between the contacts, inside the relay-panel (800VU).
- Use a clamp to connect the test box to the nearest bonding cable to electrically ground it.
NOTE: The lights on the test box will come on if there is 28VDC on the applicable pin.
1 Use the RIN28108706000 TESTBOX-ACT 802VU to monitor the Low Level ACT2 (LS2) LOW and the LOW Level ACT2 (LS8) lights. (b) Push (in) the P/BSW-24QH (to set the ACT transfer mode to MANUAL).
(c) Look at the ECAM FUEL page for the items that follow:
- the green triangular ACT transfer symbol changes from open to filled
- the fuel quantity of the ACT 1 starts to decrease
- the fuel quantity of the center tank starts to increase by a similar amount.
