A. Test

The actuator-6QH, that operates the ACT fuel transfer valve-165QM, has two electrical motors which can turn the valve ASM 282802 and ASM 282803. During a manual mode ACT fuel transfer (both of) the two motors are used to turn the valve to open. During an automatic mode ACT fuel transfer only motor-1 is used to turn the valve to open. The motor-1 is connected through the connector 6QH-A and the motor-2 is connected through the connector 6QH-B. Only the motor-1 is used to turn the valve to the closed (shut) position in an automatic or a manual fuel transfer. The closed armature of motor-2 is not connected at the connector 6QH-B.
   (1) Connect the RIN28108706000 TESTBOX-ACT 802VU to the RELAY PANEL (802VU):
  • Use a clamp to connect the test box to the nearest bonding cable to electrically ground it.
NOTE: The lights on the test box will come on if there is 28VDC on the applicable pin.
   (2) Do the Operational Test of the Individual Motors of the Transfer Valve Actuator (6QH) AMM 28-28-00-710-002.
     (a) Use the RIN28108706000 TESTBOX-ACT 802VU to monitor the Inlet Valve Act. ACT1 (5QH1) (CMD) SHUT (pin X) and the Inlet Valve Act. ACT1 (5QH1) (CMD) OPEN (pin A) lights.
NOTE: This step checks the output signals from the RELAY-INLET VALVE CTL, ACT 1 (19QH), in auto transfer configuration.
     (b) If there is no 28VDC on the specified pins, do Para. 4.A step (2).
   (3) If the Operational Test of the Individual Motors of the Transfer Valve Actuator:
     (a) Does not function as specified and there is 28VDC on the applicable pins, do Para. 4.A. step (1).
     (b) Functions as specified, but the fault continues in an automatic ACT fuel transfer, do all of Para. 4.A.
4. Fault Isolation

A. Procedure
   (1) Replace the ACTUATOR-FUEL TRANSFER VALVE, ACT [6QH] AMM 28-28-53-000-001 and AMM 28-28-53-400-001.
     (a) Do the tests that follow:
1 The Operational Test of the Individual Motors of the Transfer Valve Actuator (6QH) AMM 28-28-00-710-002.
2 The Operational test of the ACT Automatic Fuel Transfer AMM 28-28-00-710-004.
   (2) If, after the actuator has been replaced, the test of its two motors is serviceable but the actuator still fails to open in an automatic fuel transfer, continue as follows:
     (a) If a serviceable spare relay-panel 802VU is available replace it.
1 Do the Operational Test of the Individual Motors of the Transfer Valve AMM 28-28-00-710-002.
2 Do the Operational test of the ACT Automatic Fuel Transfer AMM 28-28-00-710-004.
     (b) If a serviceable spare relay-panel 802VU is not available, continue as follows:
1 Do a check of ASM 282803 and replace, if necessary, the RELAY- INLET VALVE CONTROL, ACT1 [19QH] .
       2 Do a check of the RELAY-PANEL (802VU) wiring ASM 282803 between the connector 4065VC, pin <Q and the RELAY-INLET VALVE CONTROL, ACT1 (19QH), terminal A1.
3 Repair all the unserviceable wiring and connectors ESPM 2053210
4 Do the Operational Test of the Individual Motors of the Transfer Valve AMM 28-28-00-710-002.
5 Do the Operational test of the ACT Automatic Fuel Transfer AMM 28-28-00-710-004.
