3. Fault Confirmation
Subtask 27-93-00-860-110-A
A. Side Stick Identification
   (1) Do the identification of the side stick installed on the aircraft AMM 27-92-41-860-801.
     (a) If a new-generation side-stick unit is installed on the aircraft, refer to the trouble shooting procedure (Ref. TSM TASK 27-93-00-810-988).
     (b) If the side stick installed on the aircraft is not a new-generation side-stick unit, continue this procedure.
Subtask 27-93-00-700-181-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Test
   (1) Do a check of the Post Flight Report (PFR) and the Previous Leg Report to see if the ELAC1 OR INPUT OF CAPT ROLL CTL SSTU 4CE1 or ELAC1 OR INPUT OF F/O ROLL CTL SSTU 4CE2 maintenance message is shown:
     (a) If one of these maintenance messages is shown, refer to the applicable trouble shooting procedure as follows:
  • If the maintenance message is related to the CAPT side stick, do the trouble shooting procedure "Loss of the Roll Signal on the CAPT Side Stick for the ELAC 1" (Ref. TSM TASK 27-93-00-810-801).
  • If the maintenance message is related to the F/O side stick, do the trouble shooting procedure "Loss of the Roll Signal on the F/O Side Stick for the ELAC 1" (Ref. TSM TASK 27-93-00-810-802).
     (b) If none of these maintenance messages is shown, examine again the PFR:
  • If the ELAC1 AIL ORDER DISAGREE maintenance message is shown in flight phase 05 (PH05):
       1 On the overhead panel, on the FLT CTL panel 23VU: release, then push the FLT CTL/ELAC1 pushbutton switch.
       2 Make an entry in the logbook to monitor the aircraft during the subsequent flight.
       3 During the subsequent flight:
  • If the fault occurs again, continue the trouble shooting procedure.
Subtask 27-93-00-700-181-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Test
   (1) Do a check of the Post Flight Report (PFR) and the Previous Leg Report to see if the ELAC1 OR INPUT OF CAPT ROLL CTL SSTU 4CE1 or ELAC1 OR INPUT OF F/O ROLL CTL SSTU 4CE2 maintenance message is shown:
     (a) If one of these maintenance messages is shown, refer to the applicable trouble shooting procedure as follows:
  • If the maintenance message is related to the CAPT side stick, do the trouble shooting procedure "Loss of the Roll Signal on the CAPT Side Stick for the ELAC 1" (Ref. TSM TASK 27-93-00-810-801).
  • If the maintenance message is related to the F/O side stick, do the trouble shooting procedure "Loss of the Roll Signal on the F/O Side Stick for the ELAC 1" (Ref. TSM TASK 27-93-00-810-802).
     (b) If none of these maintenance messages is shown, examine again the PFR:
  • If the ELAC1 AIL ORDER DISAGREE maintenance message is shown in flight phase 08 (PH08):
       1 On the overhead panel, on the FLT CTL panel 23VU: release, then push the FLT CTL/ELAC1 pushbutton switch.
       2 Make an entry in the logbook to monitor the aircraft during the subsequent flight.
       3 During the subsequent flight:
  • If the fault occurs again, continue the trouble shooting procedure.

   (1) Do a check of the Post Flight Report (PFR) and the Previous Leg Report to see if the ELAC1 OR INPUT OF CAPT ROLL CTL SSTU 4CE1 or ELAC1 OR INPUT OF F/O ROLL CTL SSTU 4CE2 maintenance message is shown:
     (a) If one of these maintenance messages is shown, refer to the applicable trouble shooting procedure as follows:
  • If the maintenance message is related to the CAPT side stick, do the trouble shooting procedure "Loss of the Roll Signal on the CAPT Side Stick for the ELAC 1" (Ref. TSM TASK 27-93-00-810-801).
  • If the maintenance message is related to the F/O side stick, do the trouble shooting procedure "Loss of the Roll Signal on the F/O Side Stick for the ELAC 1" (Ref. TSM TASK 27-93-00-810-802).
4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 27-93-00-810-227-B
A. If the post flight report gives the maintenance message:
ELAC1 AIL ORDER DISAGREE
   (1) Replace the ELAC-1 [2CE1] , AMM 27-93-34-000-001 and AMM 27-93-34-400-001.
   (2) During the subsequent flight, if the fault occurs again:

  • Do a visual inspection for quality of the contacts related to these wirings:
    ANI 1-3 of ELAC-1 and ELAC-2 (COM and MON part),
    ANI 1-4 of ELAC-1 and ELAC-2 (COM and MON part) ASM 279212.
