Subtask 27-51-00-710-070-A
A. Check
(1) Do a check of the Post Flight Report (PFR) and identify the related wing on which the fault message was recorded.
If you cannot identify the wing, do the procedure on each wing.
Usually you cannot confirm this fault on the ground.
4. Fault Isolation(1) Do a check of the Post Flight Report (PFR) and identify the related wing on which the fault message was recorded.
If you cannot identify the wing, do the procedure on each wing.
Usually you cannot confirm this fault on the ground.
Subtask 27-51-00-810-090-A
A. Procedure
(1) Do the wing tip brake (WTB) reset procedure,
but do not reset the torque limiter(s) at this time AMM 27-50-00-869-006.
(2) Do the operational test of the flap system AMM 27-54-00-710-001.
(a) If a FLAPS LOCKED is triggered:
(3) Do the detailed visual inspection of the flap transmission system , AMM 27-54-00-200-001. Repair or correct any defect found.
(a) After the repair/replacement:
(a) If a tripped torque limiter was found:
Examine the related drive station, AMM 27-54-00-200-001. If necessary lubricate the items which were before cleaned for inspection, AMM 12-22-27-640-004.
2 If you find a fault, correct or repair as necessary. Refer to AMM 27-5X-XX for the applicable repair, or removal and installation procedures.
3 If you find no fault, replace the rotary actuators which have a tripped torque limiter.
(5) If no tripped torque limiter was found, examine the flap actuator assemblies on the identified wing:
(b) Install the inspection plugs (1) and (2) into the actuators:
(e) While the flaps move, do a check for incorrect noise at the WTB.
(f) If there is an incorrect noise at the WTB, replace the WING TIP BRAKE [33CV] or WING TIP BRAKE [34CV] ,
AMM 27-51-51-000-001 and AMM 27-51-51-400-001.
(g) If there is no incorrect noise at the WTB, disconnect the transmission shafts on each side of the WTB (Ref. see above).
(h) Make sure that the WTB is easily turned, if it is not easily turned, replace the WTB (Ref. see above).
(7) If the fault continues:
Remove each transmission shaft, one at a time to do a check for friction in each in each component of the flap system, (Ref. AMM chap. 27, removal and installation procedures).
(a) If you find a fault, correct or repair as necessary. Refer to the AMM 27-5X-XX for the applicable repair, or removal and installation procedures.
(b) Make sure that you install all components which were removed.
- Go to the FLAP System Status of SFCC 1 or 2.
- Make sure if a FLAP TRANSMISSION RUNAWAY or ASYMMETRY is shown.
- Do the WTB reset procedure again (Ref. step (1), but also do not reset the torque limiter(s) at this time).
- Continue with step 4.A.(3).
(3) Do the detailed visual inspection of the flap transmission system , AMM 27-54-00-200-001. Repair or correct any defect found.
(a) After the repair/replacement:
- Do the reset of the torque limiter(s) AMM 27-50-00-866-010.
- Do the operational test of the flap system AMM 27-54-00-710-001.
- Make sure that the flap system is serviceable and make sure that there are no fault messages.
(a) If a tripped torque limiter was found:
Examine the related drive station, AMM 27-54-00-200-001. If necessary lubricate the items which were before cleaned for inspection, AMM 12-22-27-640-004.
NOTE: At this drive station (where the tripped torque limiter was found):
The failure will be downstream of the output shaft of the rotary actuator.
So it will be necessary to inspect all the mechanical items (Track beam, carriage and flap actuator lever etc.).
1 Do a detailed visual inspection of all the mechanical items (see NOTE above). The failure will be downstream of the output shaft of the rotary actuator.
So it will be necessary to inspect all the mechanical items (Track beam, carriage and flap actuator lever etc.).
- For the LH wing
FLAP ACTUATOR 1 [6205CM]
FLAP ACTUATOR 2 [6211CM]
FLAP ACTUATOR 3 [6221CM]
FLAP ACTUATOR 4 [6233CM] . - For the RH wing
FLAP ACTUATOR 1 [6255CM]
FLAP ACTUATOR 2 [6261CM]
FLAP ACTUATOR 3 [6271CM]
FLAP ACTUATOR 4 [6283CM] .
(b) Install the inspection plugs (1) and (2) into the actuators:
- seal the inspection plugs with Titanine JC5A
- torque the inspection plugs (1) to between 0.44 and 0.36 m.daN (38.94 and 31.86 lbf.in )

- torque the inspection plugs (2) to between 0.66 and 0.54 m.daN (58.41 and 47.79 lbf.in )
.
- for actuator assembly 6205CM (6255CM): AMM 27-54-49-000-001 and AMM 27-54-49-400-001
- for actuator assembly 6211CM (6261CM): AMM 27-54-49-000-002 and AMM 27-54-49-400-002
- for actuator assembly 6221CM (6271CM): AMM 27-54-49-000-003 and AMM 27-54-49-400-003
