A. Job Set-up
Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
AMM 24-41-00-861-002.
   (2) Do the EIS start procedure (Upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
AMM 31-60-00-860-001.
   (3) Pressurize the aircraft hydraulic systems
AMM 29-24-00-863-001, AMM 29-23-00-863-001, AMM 29-10-00-863-003.
   (4) On the overhead panel 23VU:
  • Make sure that the FLT CTL/ELAC1 and FLT CTL/SEC1 pushbutton switches are pushed (the OFF legends of these pushbutton switches are off).
   (5) On the overhead panel 24VU:
  • Make sure that the FLT CTL/ELAC2 and FLT CTL/SEC2 pushbutton switches are pushed (the OFF legends of these pushbutton switches are off).

ACTION
RESULT
1.On the center pedestal:
  • Move the pitch-trim control wheels in the nose-up direction to the mechanical stop.
On the SD:
  • The PITCH TRIM Indicator shows:
    13.5 +0.4 -0.6 deg..
2.On the center pedestal:
  • Move the pitch-trim control wheels in the nose-down direction to the mechanical stop.
On the SD:
  • The PITCH TRIM Indicator shows:
    4 +0.3 -0.5 deg..
3.On the center pedestal:
  • Move the pitch-trim control wheels to the 0 position.
On the SD:
  • The PITCH TRIM Indicator shows:
    0 +0.3 -0.3 deg..
4.Do the operational test of the THS actuator electrical control AMM 27-96-00-710-022.
4. Fault Isolation

A. If one ground setting fails:
If all the ground settings fail:

B. On the SD, if the THS positions are in the tolerances:
  • No other maintenance action is necessary.
Subtask 27-40-00-810-066-A
C. On the SD, if the THS positions are out of the tolerances:
   (1) Replace the corresponding MON sensor AMM 27-44-56-000-001, AMM 27-44-56-400-001.
   (2) Install the 0U190834 TOOL-ZERO POSITIONING,THS ACTUATOR on the screw jack of the THS actuator.
   (3) Install the 0U190360 PIN-RIGGING,THS ACTUATOR,MECHANICAL INPUT LEVER on the input lever of the THS actuator.
   (4) Do the adjustment of the THS zero position AMM 27-41-00-820-001.
   (5) Do the adjustment of the THS control cables AMM 27-41-00-820-002.
   (6) Remove and install in the correct position the pitch-trim control mechanism AMM 27-41-41-000-001 and AMM 27-41-41-400-001.
   (7) If the fault continues:
   (8) Remove the 0U190834 TOOL-ZERO POSITIONING,THS ACTUATOR and 0U190360 PIN-RIGGING,THS ACTUATOR,MECHANICAL INPUT LEVER
