  • hard spot on the rudder pedals control linkages

A. Test
   (1) Do the operational test of the rudder hydraulic actuation AMM 27-24-00-710-001.
   (2) Do the BITE test of the EFCS (Ground Scanning) AMM 27-96-00-740-001.
4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 27-10-00-810-099-A
A. If the BITE test gives the maintenance message L or R PEDALS XDCR UNIT:
   (1) In the cockpit, on the CAPT side and on the F/O side, make sure that the pedals are correctly installed AMM 27-21-42-400-001 and AMM 27-21-42-400-002.
  • If the pedals are correctly installed, continue the procedure.
   (2) On the CAPT side and on the F/O side, fully push the left pedal then the right pedal many times and make sure that there is no hard spot on the rudder pedals control linkages :
     (a) If you find a hard spot:
  • disconnect the adjustable bellcrank rod (1),
  • move the rudder pedals.

  • disconnect the link rod (2) between the CAPT and F/O pedals,
  • move the CAPT pedals:
         a If you do not find a hard spot:
         b If you find a hard spot:
   (3) If the fault continues:
