Subtask 27-10-00-860-105-A
A. Side Stick Identification
   (1) Do the identification of the side stick installed on the aircraft AMM 27-92-41-860-801.
     (a) If a new-generation side-stick unit is installed on the aircraft, refer to the troubleshooting procedure (Ref. TSM TASK 27-10-00-810-845).
     (b) If the side stick installed on the aircraft is not a new-generation side-stick unit, continue this procedure.
4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 27-10-00-810-091-A
A. If the AIL TEST NOT POSSIBLE message and a BITE code other than 3F3F are shown on the MCDU for the L and R ailerons:
   (1) Do the decoding procedure.
NOTE: The decoding procedure gives the cause of the damping test failure and helps to identify a failure message during the next step (ground scanning).
   (2) Do the BITE test of the EFCS (ground scanning) AMM 27-96-00-740-001.
  • Identify the failure message related to the cause you found during the decoding procedure, then
  • Do the related troubleshooting procedure.
NOTE: For example, for fault code 3F1F from ELAC1, the condition of R AIL E1M AVAIL is 0 instead of 1. This means that ELAC1 MON (E1M) detected a failure on the right aileron servo-control (R AIL). It is necessary to find the aileron servo control fault-message detected by ELAC1 in the BITE test of the EFCS (ground scanning).
   (3) Do the operational test of the damping measurement (aileron) AMM 27-96-00-710-007.
Subtask 27-10-00-810-092-A
B. If the AIL TEST NOT POSSIBLE message and BITE code 3F3F for ELAC1 and/or ELAC2 are shown on the MCDU:
   (1) If the ground scanning gives a maintenance message related to aileron servo control 33CE1, 33CE2, 33CE3 or 33CE4:
  • Do the troubleshooting procedure related to this message.
   (2) If the ground scanning does not give a maintenance message related to aileron servo control 33CE1, 33CE2, 33CE3 or 33CE4:
     (a) If the fault continues:
       1 If the fault continues:
Replace the defective aileron servo-control:
