A. Job set-up
   (1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are de-energized AMM 24-41-00-862-002.
   (2) On the overhead panel, on the ELEC panel 35VU, make sure that the BAT 1 and BAT 2 pushbutton switches are released.

C. Test
   (1) On the overhead panel, on the ELEC panel 35VU, push the BAT 1 pushbutton switch (7PB1).
  • Make sure that the OFF legend of the BAT 2 pushbutton switch comes on.
     (a) If the OFF legend of the BAT 2 pushbutton switch does not come on:
  • Do the trouble shooting given in para. 4.A.
       1 If the OFF legend of the BAT 2 pushbutton switch comes on:
  • Release the BAT 1 pushbutton switch and go to the subsequent step.
       2 On the overhead panel, on the ELEC panel 35VU, push the BAT 2 pushbutton switch (7PB2).
  • Make sure that the OFF legend of the BAT 1 pushbutton switch comes on.
         a If the OFF legend of the BAT 1 pushbutton switch does not come on:
  • Do the trouble shooting given in para. 4.B.
         b If the OFF legend of the BAT 1 pushbutton switch comes on:
  • Release the BAT 2 pushbutton switch and go to the subsequent step.
   (2) On the EMER ELEC PWR section of the panel 21VU, push and hold the EMER GEN TEST pushbutton switch (23XE).
     (a) If the upper ECAM DU and CAPT PFD are supplied:
  • Do the trouble shooting given in para. 4.C.
     (b) If the upper ECAM DU and CAPT PFD are not supplied:
  • Do the trouble shooting given in para. 4.D.
4. Fault Isolation

A. If the test confirms the fault:
   (1) If the fault continues:
   (2) If the fault continues:
  • Do a check of the wiring ASM 243801 between:
    . The ground terminal block and the negative (-) pin of the battery 1 shunt (3PB1)
    . The positive (+) pin of the battery 1 shunt (3PB1) and the negative (-) pin of the battery 1 (2PB1)
    . The positive (+) pin of the battery 1 (2PB1) and the pin A/E of the battery 1 line contactor (6PB1)
    . The pin A/F of the battery 1 line contactor (6PB1) and the pin 1 of the battery 1 fuse holder (4PB1)
    . The pin 2 of the battery 1 fuse holder (4PB1) and the 28VDC BAT BUS terminal block (3PP)
    . The 28VDC BAT BUS terminal block (3PP) and the pin A/D of the DC normal-busbar 1 switching-contactor (1PC1)
    . The pin A/E of the DC normal-busbar 1 switching-contactor (1PC1) and the pin 1 of the circuit breaker (11PB)
    . The pin 2 of the circuit breaker (11PB) and the pin 2 of the 28VDC BAT BUS terminal block (301PP).
     (a) If the wiring is not correct:
  • Repair the wiring .
     (b) If the wiring is correct:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring ASM 243801 between:
    . The pin A/G of the BCL 1 (1PB1) and the pin B/5 of the battery 1 line contactor (6PB1)
    . The pin B/3 of the battery 1 line contactor (6PB1) and the pin 1 of the circuit breaker (22CE1).

B. If the test confirms the fault:
   (1) If the fault continues:

  • Do a check of the wiring ASM 243802 between:
    . The ground terminal block and the negative (-) pin of the battery 2 shunt (3PB2)
    . The positive (+) pin of the battery 2 shunt (3PB2) and the negative (-) pin of the battery 2 (2PB2)
    . The positive (+) pin of the battery 2 (2PB2) and the pin A/E of the battery 2 line contactor (6PB2)
    . The pin A/F of the battery 2 line contactor (6PB2) and the pin 1 of the battery 2 fuse holder (4PB2)
    . The pin 2 of the battery 2 fuse holder (4PB2) and the 28VDC BAT BUS terminal block (3PP).
     (a) If the wiring is not correct:
  • Repair the wiring .
     (b) If the wiring is correct:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring ASM 243802 between:
    . The pin A/G of the BCL 2 (1PB2) and the pin B/5 of the battery 2 line contactor (6PB2)
    . The pin B/3 of the battery 2 line contactor (6PB2) and the pin 1 of the circuit breaker (5PB2).

  • Do a check of the wiring ASM 242801 between:
    . The pin 2 of the circuit breaker (14XB) and the pin B/9 of the battery 2 line contactor (6PB2)
    . The pin B/7 of the battery 2 line contactor (6PB2) and the pin B/9 of the battery 1 line contactor (6PB1)
    . The pin B/7 of the battery 1 line contactor (6PB1) and the pin A/A3 of the speed condition relay (7XB).
     (a) If the wiring is not correct:
  • Repair the wiring .
     (b) If the wiring is correct:
  • Replace the RELAY-SPD COND (7XB).

D. If the test confirms the fault:
   (1) If the fault continues:
  • Do a check of the wiring ASM 242801 between:
    . The ground terminal block and the negative (-) pin of the battery 2 (2PB2)
    . The positive (+) pin of the battery 2 (2PB2) and the 28VDC HOT BUS terminal block (704PP)
    . The 28VDC HOT BUS terminal block (704PP) and the pin 1 of the circuit breaker (14XB)
    . The pin 2 of the circuit breaker (14XB) and the pins A/A1, A/X1 of the speed condition relay (7XB) and the pin B/9 of the battery 2 line contactor (6PB2).
     (a) If the wiring is not correct:
  • Repair the wiring .
     (b) If the wiring is correct:
  • Do a check of the wiring ASM 242801 between:
    . The pin A/A2 of the speed condition relay (7XB) and the pin A/X1, A/A2 of the static inverter control relay (6XB) through the bus 1XP control relay (15XC), the bus 2XP control relay (16XC) and the emergency condition relay (12XE)
    . The pin A/X2 of the static inverter control relay (6XB) and the ground terminal block.
    . The pin A/A1 of the static inverter control relay (6XB) and the pin B/3 of the static inverter contactor (2XB)
    . The pin B/5 of the static inverter contactor (2XB) and the ground terminal block.
       1 If the wiring is not correct:
  • Repair the wiring .
       2 If the wiring is correct:
  • Replace the RELAY-BUS 1XP CTL [15XC] .
         a If the fault continues:
  • Replace the RELAY-BUS 2XP CTL [16XC] .
         b If the fault continues:
  • Replace the RELAY-SPD COND (7XB).
         c If the fault continues:
  • Replace the RELAY-EMER CONDITION (12XE).
         d If the fault continues:
  • Replace the RELAY-STAT INV CTL [6XB] .
