3. Fault Confirmation
Subtask 24-28-00-710-050-A
A. Test
  • Do the operational test of the static inverter AMM 24-28-00-710-001.
  • On the overhead control and indicating panel 25VU, set the INT LT/DOME switch to the BRT position.
  • On the overhead control and indicating panel 21VU, in the EMER ELEC PWR section, open the guard, push and hold the EMER GEN TEST pushbutton switch.
   (1) If the dome light is not on, the FAC 1 indicator light is not on and the Captain PFD and the Upper ECAM DU are off:
  • On the overhead control and indicating panel 25VU, set the INT LT/DOME switch to the OFF position.
  • On panel 21VU, in the EMER ELEC PWR section, release the EMER GEN TEST pushbutton switch and go to Para. 4. A.
   (2) If the dome light is not on, the FAC 1 indicator light is on or the Captain PFD or the Upper ECAM DU is on:
  • On the overhead control and indicating panel 25VU, set the INT LT/DOME switch to the OFF position.
  • On panel 21VU, in the EMER ELEC PWR section, release the EMER GEN TEST pushbutton switch and go to Para. 4. B.
   (3) If the dome light is on, the FAC1 indicator light is not on and the Captain PFD and the Upper ECAM DU are off:
  • On the overhead control and indicating panel 25VU, set the INT LT/DOME switch to the OFF position.
  • On panel 21VU, in the EMER ELEC PWR section, release the EMER GEN TEST pushbutton switch and go to Para. 4. C.
   (4) If the dome light is on, the FAC1 indicator light is on and the Captain PFD and the Upper ECAM DU are off:
  • On the overhead control and indicating panel 25VU, set the INT LT/DOME switch to the OFF position.
  • On panel 21VU, in the EMER ELEC PWR section, release the EMER GEN TEST pushbutton switch and go to Para. 4. D.
   (5) If the dome light is on, the FAC 1 indicator light is not on and the Captain PFD and the Upper ECAM DU are on:
  • On the overhead control and indicating panel 25VU, set the INT LT/DOME switch to the OFF position.
  • On panel 21VU, in the EMER ELEC PWR section, release the EMER GEN TEST pushbutton switch and go to Para. 4. E.
4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 24-28-00-810-050-A
A. If the dome light is not on, the FAC 1 indicator light is not on and the Captain PFD and the Upper ECAM DU are off:
  • Disconnect connector B of the static inverter contactor (2XB) ASM 242801.
  • On panel 21VU, in the EMER ELEC PWR section, open the guard, push and hold the EMER GEN TEST pushbutton switch.
  • Do a check to make sure that the voltage is more than 25VDC between pins B/3 and B/5 of the static inverter contactor (2XB) ASM 242801.
   (1) If the voltage is correct (more than 25VDC):
   (2) If the voltage is not correct (equal to or less than 25VDC):
  • Connect connector B of the static inverter contactor (2XB).
  • Disconnect the static-inverter control relay (6XB) ESPM 204650.
  • Do a check to make sure that the voltage is more than 25VDC between pins A/X1 and A/X2 of the static-inverter control relay (6XB) ASM 242801.
     (a) If the voltage is correct (more than 25VDC):
  • Replace RELAY-STAT INV CTL [6XB] ESPM 24204650.
       1 If the fault continues:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring ASM 242801 between:
    . Pin B/5 of the static inverter contactor (2XB) and the ground
    . Pin B/3 of the static inverter contactor (2XB) and pin A/A1 of the static-inverter control relay (6XB)
    . Pins A/A2 and A/X1 of the static-inverter control relay (6XB)
    . Pin A/X2 of the static-inverter control relay (6XB) and the ground.
     (b) If the voltage is not correct (equal to or less than 25VDC):
  • Connect the static-inverter control relay (6XB) ESPM 204650.
  • Disconnect the bus 1XP control-relay (15XC) ESPM 204650.
  • Do a check to make sure that the voltage is more than 25VDC between pin A/C2 of the bus 1XP control-relay (15XC) and the ground ASM 242801.
       1 If the voltage is correct (more than 25VDC):
  • Replace RELAY-BUS 1XP CTL [15XC] ESPM 204650.
         a If the fault continues:
  • Replace RELAY-BUS 2XP CTL [16XC] ESPM 204650.
         b If the fault continues:
  • Replace the emergency-condition relay (12XE) ESPM 204650.
         c If the fault continues:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring ASM 242801 between:
    . Pin A/C3 of the bus-1XP control relay (15XC) and pin A/C2 of the bus 2XP control-relay (16XC)
    . Pin A/C3 of the bus-2XP control relay (16XC) and pin A/D2 of the emergency condition relay (12XE)
    . Pin A/D3 of the emergency condition relay (12XE) and the first terminal block.
       2 If the voltage is not correct (equal to or less than 25VDC):
  • Connect the bus-1XP control relay (15XC) ESPM 204650.
  • Disconnect the speed condition relay (7XB) ESPM 204650.
  • Do a check to make sure that the voltage is more than 25VDC ASM 242801 between:
    . Pins A/X1 and A/X2 of the speed condition relay (7XB)
    . Pins A/A1 and A/X2 of the speed condition relay (7XB).
         a If the voltage is correct (more than 25VDC):
  • Replace the speed condition relay (7XB) ESPM 204650.
    * If the fault continues:
    *- Do a check and repair the wiring between pin A/C2 of the bus-1XP control relay (15XC) and pin A/A2 of the speed condition relay (7XB) ASM 242801.
         b If the voltage is not correct (equal to or less than 25VDC):
  • Connect the speed condition relay (7XB) ESPM 204650.
  • Do a check to make sure that the voltage is more than 25VDC between pin A/X1 of the speed condition relay (7XB) and the ground ASM 242801.
    * If the voltage is not correct (equal to or less than 25VDC):
    *- Do a check and repair the wiring between pin A/X1 of the speed condition relay (7XB) and the second terminal block ASM 242801.
    * If the voltage is correct (more than 25VDC):
    *- Replace the diode module (1802VD).
    ** If the fault continues:
    **- Replace P/BSW-EMER ELEC PWR/EMER GEN TEST [23XE] .
    ** If the fault continues:
    **- Do a check and repair the wiring between:
    **. Pin A/34 of the diode module (1802VD) and pin A/X2 of the speed condition relay (7XB) ASM 242801
    **. Pin A/33 of the diode module (1802VD) and pin 4 of the EMER ELEC PWR/EMER GEN TEST pushbutton switch (23XE) ASM 242801
    **. Pin 3 of the EMER ELEC PWR/EMER GEN TEST pushbutton switch (23XE) and the ground ASM 242402.
   (3) Release the EMER GEN TEST pushbutton switch.
Subtask 24-28-00-810-051-A
B. If the dome light is not on, the FAC 1 indicator light is on or the Captain PFD or the Upper ECAM DU is on:
  • On panel 21VU, in the EMER ELEC PWR section, open the guard, push and hold the EMER GEN TEST pushbutton switch.
  • Do a check to make sure that the voltage is more than 25VDC between pin A/E of the static inverter contactor (2XB) and the ground ASM 242801.
   (1) If the voltage is correct (more than 25VDC):
  • Do a check and repair the wiring between pin A/E of the static inverter contactor (2XB) and pin A/D of the essential TR contactor (3PE) ASM 246201.
   (2) If the voltage is not correct (equal to or less than 25VDC):
     (a) Use a MULTIMETER - STANDARD and do a check of the fuse (6PH) for continuity.
       1 If the fuse is not correct:
  • Replace the fuse (6PH).
       2 If the fuse is correct:
       3 If the fault continues:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring between pin A/N of the static inverter contactor (2XB) and pin A/D of the BAT 2 line contactor (6PB2) through fuse (6PH) ASM 246201.
   (3) Release the EMER GEN TEST pushbutton switch.
Subtask 24-28-00-810-052-A
C. If the dome light is on, the FAC1 indicator light is not on and the Captain PFD and the Upper ECAM DU are off:
  • Disconnect the connector A of the static inverter (3XB) ASM 242801.
  • On panel 21VU, in the EMER ELEC PWR section, open the guard, push and hold the EMER GEN TEST pushbutton switch.
  • Do a check to make sure that the voltage is more than 25VDC between pins A/D and A/F of the static inverter (3XB) ASM 242801.
   (1) If the voltage is correct (more than 25VDC):
   (2) If the voltage is not correct (equal to or less than 25VDC):
  • Connect the connector A of the static inverter (3XB).
     (a) Use a MULTIMETER - STANDARD and do a check of the AC static inverter bus-supply fuse (5XB) for continuity.
       1 If the fuse is not correct:
  • Replace the AC static-inverter bus-supply fuse (5XB)
       2 If the fuse is correct:
       3 If the fault continues:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring ASM 242801 between:
    . Pin A/E of the BAT 1 line-contactor (6PB1) and pin A/K of the static inverter contactor (2XB)
    . Pin A/F of the static inverter contactor (2XB) and pin A/D of the static inverter (3XB)
    . Pin A/C of the static inverter (3XB) and the ground
    . Pin A/F of the static inverter (3XB) and the ground.
   (3) Release the EMER GEN TEST pushbutton switch.
Subtask 24-28-00-810-053-A
D. If the dome light is on, the FAC1 indicator light is on and the Captain PFD and the Upper ECAM DU are off:
  • Disconnect the right connector B (15XE1) of the AC essential-bus switching contactor (15XE) ASM 242402.
  • On panel 21VU, in the EMER ELEC PWR section, open the guard, push and hold the EMER GEN TEST pushbutton switch.
  • Do a check to make sure that the voltage is more than 110VAC at pins T1, T2, T3 of the AC essential-bus switching contactor (15XE) ASM 242402.
   (1) If the voltage is correct (more than 110VAC):
  • Do a check to make sure that the voltage is more than 110VAC between pin C of the right connector B (15XE1) of the AC essential-bus switching contactor (15XE) and the ground.
     (a) If the voltage is correct (more than 110VAC):
       1 If the fault continues:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring ASM 242402 between:
    . Pin K of the left connector A (15XE2) of the AC essential-bus switching contactor (15XE) and pin A of the right connector B (15XE1) of the AC essential-bus-switching contactor (15XE)
    . Pin L of the left connector A (15XE2) of the AC essential-bus switching contactor (15XE) and the ground.
     (b) If the voltage is not correct (equal to or less than 110VAC):
  • Replace the contactor-3XC monitoring relay 1 (13XC) ESPM 204650.
       1 If the fault continues:
  • Replace the contactor-3XC monitoring relay 2 (14XC) ESPM 204650.
       2 If the fault continues:
  • Replace the speed condition relay (7XB) ESPM 204650.
       3 If the fault continues:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring ASM 242402 between:
    . Pin T1 of the AC essential-bus switching contactor (15XE) and pin 1 of the circuit breaker (10XE)
    . Pin 2 of the circuit breaker (10XE) and pin A/B2 of the speed condition relay (7XB)
    . Pin A/B1 of the speed condition relay (7XB) and pin A/B2 of the contactor-3XC monitoring relay 1 (13XC)
    . Pin A/B3 of the contactor-3XC monitoring relay 1 (13XC) and pin A/B2 of the contactor-3XC monitoring relay 2 (14XC)
    . Pin A/B3 of the contactor-3XC monitoring relay 2 (14XC) and pin C of the right connector B (15XE1) of the AC essential-bus switching contactor (15XE).
   (2) If the voltage is not correct (equal to or less than 110VAC):
  • Connect the right connector B (15XE1) of the AC essential-bus switching contactor (15XE).
  • Do a check and repair the wiring between pin T3 of the AC essential-bus switching contactor (15XE) and pin A/A of the static inverter (3XB) ASM 242402.
     (a) If the fault continues:
  • Remove and do a visual inspection of the circuit-breaker and contactor shunt (1000XE) AMM 24-24-55-000-002.
       1 If the circuit-breaker and contactor shunt (1000XE) is broken:
   (3) Release the EMER GEN TEST pushbutton switch.
Subtask 24-28-00-810-054-A
E. If the dome light is on, the FAC 1 indicator light is not on and the Captain PFD and the Upper ECAM DU are on:
  • Disconnect the connector A of the static inverter (3XB) ASM 242801.
  • On panel 21VU, in the EMER ELEC PWR section, open the guard, push and hold the EMER GEN TEST pushbutton switch.
  • Do a check to make sure that the voltage is more than 110VAC between pins A/B and A/C of the static inverter (3XB) ASM 242801.
   (1) If the voltage is correct (more than 110VAC):
  • Do a check and repair the wiring ASM 242801 between:
    . Pin A/B of the static inverter (3XB) and pin 1 of the circuit breaker (12XB)
    . Pin 2 of the electrical-static-inverter bus-901XP supply-circuit-breaker (12XB) and 115VAC static-inverter bus 901XP.
   (2) If the voltage is not correct (equal to or less than 110VAC):
   (3) Release the EMER GEN TEST pushbutton switch.
