Subtask 24-21-00-860-082-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Initial Maintenance Practices
   (1) Make sure that there are no fault messages related to the generators or the IDG.
     (a) If there are fault messages related to the generators or the IDG, do the related trouble shooting procedures.
NOTE: The procedures that follow are applicable if there are no BITE or other fault messages related to the aircraft power supply.
   (2) Start engine 2 AMM 71-00-00-710-003.
   (3) Make sure that the related aircraft electrical circuits are energized from engine 2 AMM 24-41-00-861-002.
   (4) Make sure that the aircraft external power stays available.

B. Test
   (1) Do the system test of the IDG frequency AMM 24-21-00-730-040.
   (2) Adjust the engine 2 power to make it stable at 75 per cent of N2.
   (3) On the ECAM control panel, push the ELEC key (on the lower ECAM DU the ELEC page comes into view).
   (4) Apply sufficient electrical load on IDG 2 to cause between a 40 per cent and a 55 per cent of load indication on the lower ECAM page.
   (5) Keep these engine power and electrical load conditions for approximately ten minutes.
   (6) Monitor the IDG 2 AC frequency on the lower ECAM DU.
NOTE: The AC frequency is between 398 Hz and 402 Hz during the last ten seconds of this period of ten minutes. If the AC frequency is not in these limits, it is possible that IDG 2 does not operate correctly.
   (7) Adjust the engine 2 power to idle quickly.
   (8) Adjust the engine 2 power to make it stable at 75 per cent of N2.
   (9) Adjust the engine 2 power to idle.
4. Fault Isolation

C. If the cabin lights do not flicker:
   (1) A one-time transient in the IDG 2 AC power-output, that was not sufficient to give a BITE message caused the start of the first flicker sequence:
  • Go to Para. 5.
NOTE: No more trouble shooting is necessary.

D. If the cabin lights continue to flicker:
   (1) Make sure that the external electrical power is connected to the aircraft AMM 24-41-00-861-002.
   (2) Do a manual switch-over and energize AC buses 212XP and 214XP from the external power supply-unit AMM 24-41-00-861-002.
   (3) Open the circuit breakers that follow:
  • 307LG
