Not applicable.
NOTE: After the disconnection of the IDG, do this TSM procedure and replace the components at the next check. Make sure that the IDG does not operate for more than 50 hours in the disconnected mode. If the IDG operates for 50 hours in the disconnected mode, you must replace the IDG and send the removed IDG for a shop inspection. There is a risk of damage to the ball bearing assembly on the input shaft.
4. Fault Isolation

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
AMM 24-41-00-861-002.
   (2) Do the EIS start procedure (Upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
AMM 31-60-00-860-001.
   (3) Safety Precautions
   (4) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
     (b) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) On the overhead maintenance-panel 50VU:
       1 Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
       2 Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

B. Check of the IDG Drain Mast for Leakage
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors AMM 71-13-00-010-802.
     (a) FOR [1000EM1]

   (3) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance AMM 78-30-00-040-805.

       6 Do the operational test of IDG 1(2) disconnect function with engine 1(2) in operation AMM 24-21-00-710-803.
  • Do not do the reset of IDG 1(2) disconnect system in Para 4.D. of the operational test.
       7 Do the flushing of IDG 1(2) and the external lines AMM 24-21-00-612-806.
     (b) If there are leaks at the drain mast and IDG 1(2) is not disconnected:
       1 Continue the trouble shooting procedure and go to the Para. 4.C.
     (c) If there are leaks at the drain mast and IDG 1(2) is disconnected:
On the lower ECAM DU:
  • The amber DISC indication comes into view below the IDG indication.
       1 Continue the trouble shooting procedure and go to Para. 4.D.

C. If There are Leaks at the Drain Mast and IDG 1(2) is not Disconnected
   (1) Clean the drain mast as necessary.
   (2) Close the thrust reverser doors AMM 78-36-00-410-802.

  • Do not do the reset of IDG 1(2) disconnect system in Para 4.D. of the operational test.
   (8) Safety Precautions
     (a) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
       1 Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
     (b) On the overhead maintenance-panel 50VU:

   (8) When the engine is stable at ground idle, let the engine operate for a minimum of five minutes.
   (9) Stop the engine AMM 71-00-00-860-814.
   (10) Safety Precautions
     (a) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
     (b) On the overhead maintenance-panel 50VU:
       1 Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
       2 Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (11) Open the fan cowl doors AMM 71-13-00-010-802.

   (3) In the cockpit, on the center pedestal ENG panel 115VU and on the overhead maintenance-panel 50VU, remove the warning notices.
   (4) Remove the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE.
