   (1) Do the CIDS1/CIDS BUS test through the CFDS/MCDU.
   (2) Do the CIDS1/DEU-B test through the CFDS/MCDU.

A. Test
   (1) Do the CIDS Interface and Power-Up test through the CFDS
AMM 23-73-00-740-005.
4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 23-73-00-810-778-A
A. If the test gives a different maintenance message, do the trouble shooting procedure related to the maintenance message.
Subtask 23-73-00-810-779-F ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. If the CIDS2/CIDS BUS test gives the maintenance message CIDS MID BUS L:
  • Make sure that at least one cabin door is open.
  • In the cockpit, on the overhead panel 25VU:
    Make sure that the EMER EXIT LT switch (4WL) is in the OFF position.
  • Remove the DIR-CIDS (101RH) AMM 23-73-34-000-001.
  • Close these CBs:
    49VU: 157RH (G02) CIDS/DIR 2/ESS,
    121VU:156RH (M07) CIDS/DIR 2/NORM.
  • Wait for approx. 120 s.
  • Do the CIDS2/CIDS BUS test through the CFDS/MCDU.
   (1) If the CIDS2/CIDS BUS test is OK:
   (2) If the fault continues:
  • Remove the DIR-CIDS, 2 [102RH] AMM 23-73-34-000-001.
  • During the installation of the DIR-CIDS, 1 (101RH) do not close these CBs:
    49VU: 157RH (G02) CIDS/DIR 2/ESS,
    121VU:156RH (M07) CIDS/DIR 2/NORM.
  • Install the DIR-CIDS, 1 [101RH] AMM 23-73-34-400-001.
  • Do the CIDS1/CIDS BUS test through the CFDS/MCDU.
   (3) If the CIDS1/CIDS BUS test is OK:
   (4) If the fault continues:
  • Remove the DIR-CIDS, 1 [101RH] AMM 23-73-34-000-001.
  • Open these CBs:
    49VU: 153RH COM/CIDS/DEU B/ESS,
    121VU: 162RH COM NAV/CIDS/DEU B/NORM.
  • Make sure that the resistance (line to line) at DIR-CIDS (101RH) and (102RH) connector AA/D14 and connector AA/E14 is between approx. 80 and 200 ohms ASM 237306.
   (5) If the resistance (line to line) is between approx. 80 and 200 ohms:
  • Make sure that the resistance (line to GND) is not less than 50 ohms (short circuit) between:
    DIR-CIDS (101RH) and (102RH) connector AA/D14 and GND,
    DIR-CIDS (101RH) and (102RH) connector AA/E14 and GND ASM 237306.
     (a) If there is no short circuit:
       1 If the CIDS BITE test gives the maintenance message DEU-B 300RH5:
       2 If the CIDS BITE test gives the maintenance message CIDS MID BUS L:
     (b) If there is a short circuit:
       1 If there is no short circuit:
       2 If the fault continues:
  • Disconnect the electrical connector 7247VC1 from the DEU mount 2015VU1 AMM 23-73-48-000-001.
  • Do a check for a short circuit again.
         a If there is no short circuit:
         b If the fault continues:
  • Install the removed DEU-B [300RH5] AMM 23-73-47-400-001.
  • Reconnect the electrical connector to the DEU mount 2015VU1 AMM 23-73-48-400-001.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector 7201VC3 from the DEU mount 2011VU3 AMM 23-73-48-000-001.
  • Do a check for a short circuit again.

  • b.1. If there is no short circuit:
  • Do a check for a short circuit at the disconnected connector 7201VC3 between pin 9 and GND (pin 11) and between pin 10 and GND (pin 11).

  • b.1.1. If there is a short circuit:
  • Repair the wiring between the DEU mount 2011VU3 and the DEU mount 2015VU1 ASM 237306.

  • b.1.2. If there is no short circuit:
  • Install a new DEU mount 2011VU3 AMM 23-73-48-400-001.

  • b.2. If there is a short circuit:
  • Reconnect the electrical connector to the DEU mount 2011VU3 AMM 23-73-48-400-001.
  • Do the steps (4. B. (5) (b) 2 b) again for the subsequent DEU(s) and DEU mount(s) until the maintenance message stops: ASM 237306.
    DEU-B [300RH1] and DEU mount 2011VU1
   (6) If the resistance (line to line) is more than 200 ohms (open circuit):
  • Disconnect the electrical connector 7247VC1 from the DEU mount 2015VU1 AMM 23-73-48-000-001.
  • Make sure that the resistance (line to line) is not more than 200 ohms (open circuit) between:
    DEU mount 2015VU1 pin A/1 and pin A/2.
     (a) If there is an open circuit:
     (b) If there is no open circuit:
  • Reconnect the electrical connector to the DEU mount 2015VU1 AMM 23-73-48-400-001.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector 7201VC1 from the DEU mount 2011VU1 AMM 23-73-48-000-001.
  • Do a check of the wiring (continuity-check) between:
    DIR-CIDS (102RH) connector AA/D14 and the connector 7201VC1 pin A/1,
    DIR-CIDS (102RH) connector AA/E14 and the connector 7201VC1 pin A/2.
       1 If there is no continuity:
  • Repair the wiring between the DIR-CIDS (102RH) and the connector 7201VC1 ASM 237306.
       2 If there is continuity:
  • Do a check of the wiring (continuity-check) between:
    DEU mount 2011VU1 pin A/1 and pin A/9,
    DEU mount 2011VU1 pin A/2 and pin A/10.
         a If there is no continuity:
         b If there is continuity:
  • Reconnect the connector 7201VC1 to the DEU mount 2011VU1 AMM 23-73-48-400-001.
  • Do the steps 4. B. (6) again for the subsequent DEU mounts until the maintenance message stops:
    DIR-CIDS (102RH) and DEU mount 2011VU3 /connector 7201VC3,
    DIR-CIDS (102RH) and DEU mount 2015VU1 /connector 7247VC1.
   (7) If the resistance (line to line) is less than 80 ohms (short circuit):
     (a) If there is no short circuit:
     (b) If there is a short circuit:
       1 If there is a short circuit:
  • Reconnect the electrical connector to the DEU mount 2015VU1 AMM 23-73-48-400-001.
  • Do the steps 4. B. (7) again for the subsequent DEU(s) and DEU mount(s) until the maintenance message stops: ASM 237306.
    DEU mount 2011VU3 ,
    DEU-B [300RH1] and DEU mount 2011VU1 .
       2 If there is no short circuit:
  • Do a check for a short circuit at the disconnected connector between the pins A/9 and A/10 ASM 237306.
         a If there is a short circuit:
  • Repair the wiring between the related DEU mount 2011VUxx and the DEU mount 2015VUxx/2011VUxx ASM 237306.
         b If there is no short circuit:

B. If the CIDS2 Interface and Power-Up Test gives the maintenance message CIDS MID BUS L/ DIR2 (102RH):
  • make sure that at least one cabin door is open,
  • remove the DIR-CIDS (101RH) AMM 23-73-34-000-001,
  • close these CBs:
    49VU: 157RH COM CIDS/DIR ESS/2,
    49VU: 18WH AIR COND/CIDS/SDF/DIR 2 ESS,
    120VU: 156RH COM NAV/CIDS/DIR NORM/2,
    122VU: 14WH AIR COND/CIDS/SDF/DIR NORM/2,
  • wait for approx. 120 s,
  • do the CIDS2 Interface and Power-Up Test via the CFDS/MCDU AMM 23-73-00-740-005.
   (1) If the test is OK:
   (2) If the fault continues:
  • remove the DIR-CIDS, 2 [102RH] AMM 23-73-34-000-001.
  • during the installation of the DIR-CIDS, 1 (101RH) do not close these CBs:

  • Do the test given in Para. 3.
   (3) If the test is OK:
   (4) If the fault continues:
  • remove the DIR-CIDS, 1 [101RH] AMM 23-73-34-000-001
  • open these CBs:
    49VU: 153RH COM/CIDS/DEU B/ESS
    121VU: 162RH COM NAV/CIDS/DEU B/NORM
  • make sure that the resistance (line to line) at DIR-CIDS (101RH) and (102RH) connector AA/D14 and connector AA/E14 is between approx. 80 and 140 ohms ASM 237306.
   (5) If the resistance (line to line) is between approx. 80 and 140 ohms:
  • make sure that the resistance (line to GND) is not less than 7 k ohms (short circuit) between:
    DIR-CIDS (101RH) and (102RH) connector AA/D14 and GND,
    DIR-CIDS (101RH) and (102RH) connector AA/E14 and GND. ASM 237306
     (a) If there is no short circuit:
  • remove the DECODER/ENCODER UNIT B [300RH7] AMM 23-73-47-000-001
  • install the DIR-CIDS (101RH) and DIR-CIDS (102RH) AMM 23-73-34-400-001.
  • close these CBs:
    49VU: 153RH COM/CIDS/DEU B/ESS
    121VU: 162RH COM NAV/CIDS/DEU B/NORM
  • Do the test given in Para. 3.
       1 If the test gives the maintenance message DEU-B 300RH7:
       2 If the test gives the maintenance message CIDS MID BUS L/ DIR2 (102RH):
     (b) If there is a short circuit:
       1 If there is no short circuit:
       2 If the fault continues:
  • disconnect the electrical connector from the DEU TERMINATION BOX [309RH1] ASM 237306.
  • do a check for a short circuit again.
         a If there is no short circuit:
         b If the fault continues:
  • install the removed DECODER/ENCODER UNIT B [300RH7] AMM 23-73-47-400-001,
  • reconnect the electrical connector to the DEU TERMINATION BOX [309RH1] ,
  • disconnect the electrical connector from the DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH5] ,
  • do a check for a short circuit again.

  • b.1. If there is no short circuit:
  • do a check for a short circuit at the disconnected connector between pin 9 and GND (pin 4) and between pin 10 and GND (pin 4).

  • b.1.1. If there is a short circuit:
  • repair the wiring between the DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH5] and the DEU TERMINATION BOX [309RH1] ASM 237306.
  • Do the test given in Para. 3.

  • b.1.2. If there is no short circuit:
  • install a new DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH5] AMM 23-73-42-000-001 and AMM 23-73-42-400-001.
  • Do the test given in Para. 3.

  • b.2. If there is a short circuit:
  • reconnect the electrical connector to the DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH5] ,
  • do the steps (4. B. (5) (b) 2 b) again for the subsequent DEU(s) and DEU CONNECTION BOX(es) until the maintenance message stops for:
    DEU-B [300RH1] and DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH1] .
   (6) If the resistance (line to line) is more than 140 ohms (open circuit):
  • disconnect the electrical connector DEU TERMINATION BOX [309RH1] ASM 237306,
  • make sure that the resistance (line to line) is not more than 140 ohms (open circuit) between:
    DEU TERMINATION BOX [309RH1] pin A/1 and pin A/2
     (a) If there is an open circuit:
     (b) If there is no open circuit:
  • reconnect the electrical connector to the DEU TERMINATION BOX [309RH1] .
  • disconnect the electrical connector from the DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH1] ASM 237306.
  • do a check of the wiring (continuity-check) between:
    DIR-CIDS (102RH) connector AA/D14 and the DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH1] connector pin A/2,
    DIR-CIDS (102RH) connector AA/E14 and the DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH1] connector pin A/1.
       1 If there is no continuity:
  • repair the wiring between the DIR-CIDS (102RH) and the connector DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH1] ASM 237306.
  • Do the test given in Para. 3.
       2 If there is continuity:
  • do a check of the wiring (continuity-check) between:
    DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH1] pin A/1 and pin A/9 ,
    DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH1] pin A/2 and pin A/10.
         a If there is no continuity:
         b If there is continuity:
  • reconnect the connector to the DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH1] .
  • do the steps 4. B. (6) again for the subsequent DEU CONNECTION/ TERMINATION BOX(es) until the maintenance message stops:
    DIR-CIDS (102RH) and DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH5] ,
    DIR-CIDS (102RH) and DEU TERMINATION BOX [309RH1] .
   (7) If the resistance (line to line) is less than 80 ohms (short circuit):

   (5) If the resistance (line to line) is between approx. 80 and 140 ohms:
  • make sure that the resistance (line to GND) is not less than 7 k ohms (short circuit) between:
    DIR-CIDS (101RH) and (102RH) connector AA/D14 and GND,

  • disconnect the electrical connector from the DEU TERMINATION BOX [309RH1] ASM 237306.
  • do a check for a short circuit again.
         a If there is no short circuit:

  • install the removed DECODER/ENCODER UNIT B [300RH7] AMM 23-73-47-400-001,
  • reconnect the electrical connector to the DEU TERMINATION BOX [309RH1] ,
  • disconnect the electrical connector from the DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH5] ,
  • do a check for a short circuit again.

  • b.1. If there is no short circuit:
  • do a check for a short circuit at the disconnected connector between pin 9 and GND (pin 4) and between pin 10 and GND (pin 4).

  • b.1.1. If there is a short circuit:
  • repair the wiring between the DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH5] and the DEU TERMINATION BOX [309RH1] ASM 237306.
  • Do the test given in Para. 3.

  • b.1.2. If there is no short circuit:
  • install a new DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH5] AMM 23-73-42-000-001 and AMM 23-73-42-400-001.
  • Do the test given in Para. 3.

  • b.2. If there is a short circuit:
  • reconnect the electrical connector to the DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH5] ,
  • do the steps (4. B. (5) (b) 2 b) again for the subsequent DEU(s) and DEU CONNECTION BOX(es) until the maintenance message stops for:
    DEU-B [300RH1] and DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH1] .
   (6) If the resistance (line to line) is more than 140 ohms (open circuit):
  • disconnect the electrical connector DEU TERMINATION BOX [309RH1] ASM 237306,
  • make sure that the resistance (line to line) is not more than 140 ohms (open circuit) between:
    DEU TERMINATION BOX [309RH1] pin A/1 and pin A/2
     (a) If there is an open circuit:
     (b) If there is no open circuit:
  • reconnect the electrical connector to the DEU TERMINATION BOX [309RH1] .
  • disconnect the electrical connector from the DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH1] ASM 237306.
  • do a check of the wiring (continuity-check) between:
    DIR-CIDS (102RH) connector AA/D14 and the DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH1] connector pin A/2,
    DIR-CIDS (102RH) connector AA/E14 and the DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH1] connector pin A/1.
       1 If there is no continuity:
  • repair the wiring between the DIR-CIDS (102RH) and the connector DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH1] ASM 237306.
  • Do the test given in Para. 3.
       2 If there is continuity:
  • do a check of the wiring (continuity-check) between:
    DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH1] pin A/1 and pin A/9 ,
    DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH1] pin A/2 and pin A/10.
         a If there is no continuity:
         b If there is continuity:
  • reconnect the connector to the DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH1] .
  • do the steps 4. B. (6) again for the subsequent DEU CONNECTION/ TERMINATION BOX(es) until the maintenance message stops:
    DIR-CIDS (102RH) and DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH5] ,
    DIR-CIDS (102RH) and DEU TERMINATION BOX [309RH1] .
   (7) If the resistance (line to line) is less than 80 ohms (short circuit):

  • make sure that the resistance (line to line) at DIR-CIDS, 1 [101RH] and DIR-CIDS, 2 [102RH] connector AA/D14 and connector AA/E14 is between approx. 80 and 140 ohm ASM 237306.
   (5) If the resistance (line to line) is between approx. 80 and 140 ohm:
  • make sure that the resistance (line to GND) is not less than 7k ohm (short circuit) between:
    DIR-CIDS (101RH) and (102RH) connector AA/D14 and GND,
    DIR-CIDS (101RH) and (102RH) connector AA/E14 and GND. ASM 237306
     (a) If there is no short circuit:
  • remove the DECODER/ENCODER UNIT B [300RH7] AMM 23-73-47-000-001,
  • install the DIR-CIDS, 1 [101RH] and DIR-CIDS, 2 [102RH] AMM 23-73-34-400-001.
  • close these CBs:
    49VU: 153RH COM/CIDS/DEU B/ESS,
    121VU: 193RH COM NAV/CIDS/DEU B/NORM FWD,
    2001VU: 194RH DEU B/NORM AFT.
  • Do the test given in Para. 3.
       1 If the test gives the maintenance message DECODER/ENCODER UNIT B [300RH7] :
       2 If the test gives the maintenance message CIDS MID BUS L/DIR2 (102RH):
     (b) If there is a short circuit:
       1 If there is no short circuit:
       2 If the fault continues:
  • disconnect the electrical connector from the DEU TERMINATION BOX [309RH1] ASM 237306,
  • do a check for a short circuit again.
         a If there is no short circuit:
         b If the fault continues:
  • install the removed DECODER/ENCODER UNIT B [300RH7] AMM 23-73-47-400-001,
  • reconnect the electrical connector to the DEU TERMINATION BOX [309RH1] ,
  • disconnect the electrical connector from the DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH5] ,
  • do a check for a short circuit again.

  • b.1. If there is no short circuit:
  • do a check for a short circuit at the disconnected connector between pin 9 and GND (pin 4) and between pin 10 and GND (pin 4).

  • b.1.1. If there is a short circuit:
  • repair the wiring between the DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH5] and the DEU TERMINATION BOX [309RH1] ASM 237306.
  • Do the test given in Para. 3.

  • b.1.2. If there is no short circuit:
  • install a new DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH5] AMM 23-73-42-000-001 and AMM 23-73-42-400-001.
  • Do the test given in Para. 3.

  • b.2. If there is a short circuit:
  • reconnect the electrical connector to the DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH5] ,
  • do the steps (4. B. (5) (b) 2 b) again for the subsequent DEU(s) and DEU CONNECTION BOX(es) until the maintenance message stops for:
    DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH3]
    DEU-B [300RH1] and DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH1] .
   (6) If the resistance (line to line) is more than 140 ohm (open circuit):
  • disconnect the electrical connector DEU TERMINATION BOX [309RH1] ASM 237306,
  • make sure that the resistance (line to line) is not more than 140 ohm (open circuit) between:
    DEU TERMINATION BOX [309RH1] pin A/1 and pin A/2
     (a) If there is an open circuit:
     (b) If there is no open circuit:
  • reconnect the electrical connector to the DEU TERMINATION BOX [309RH1] ,
  • disconnect the electrical connector from the DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH1] ASM 237306.
  • do a check of the wiring (continuity-check) between:
    DIR-CIDS (102RH) connector AA/D14 and the DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH1] connector pin A/2,
    DIR-CIDS (102RH) connector AA/E14 and the DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH1] connector pin A/1.
       1 If there is no continuity:
  • repair the wiring between the DIR-CIDS (102RH) and the connector DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH1] ASM 237306.
  • Do the test given in Para. 3.
       2 If there is continuity:
  • do a check of the wiring (continuity-check) between:
    DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH1] pin A/1 and pin A/9 ,
    DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH1] pin A/2 and pin A/10.
         a If there is no continuity:
         b If there is continuity:
  • reconnect the connector to the DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH1] .
  • do the steps 4. B. (6) again for the subsequent DEU CONNECTION/ TERMINATION BOX(es) until the maintenance message stops:
    DIR-CIDS (102RH) and DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH3] ,
    DIR-CIDS (102RH) and DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH5] ,
    DIR-CIDS (102RH) and DEU TERMINATION BOX [309RH1] .
   (7) If the resistance (line to line) is less than 80 ohm (short circuit):
     (a) If there is no short circuit:
     (b) If there is a short circuit:
       1 If there is a short circuit:
  • reconnect the electrical connector to the DEU TERMINATION BOX [309RH1] ,
  • do the steps 4. B. (7) again for the subsequent DEU(s) and DEU CONNECTION/ TERMINATION BOX(es) until the maintenance message stops for: ASM 237306
    DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH3] ,
    DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH5] ,
    DEU-B [300RH1] and DEU CONNECTION BOX [308RH1] .
       2 If there is no short circuit:
  • do a check for a short circuit at the disconnected connector between the pins A/9 and A/10 ASM 237306.
         a If there is a short circuit:
  • repair the wiring between the related DEU CONNECTION BOX 308RHxx and the DEU CONNECTION/ TERMINATION BOX(es) 308RHxx/309RHxx ASM 237306.
  • Do the test given in Para. 3.
         b If there is no short circuit:

  • Reconnect all the DEU CONNECTION/ TERMINATION BOX-connectors to the related DEU CONNECTION/ TERMINATION BOX ASM 237306.
  • Make sure that all previously opened CBs are closed.
