3. Fault Confirmation
Subtask 23-73-00-710-242-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Test
   (1) Do a manual reset of the CIDS as follows:
     (a) In the avionics compartment on the C/B Panel 121VU:
  • Open the C/Bs CIDS DIR2 NORM 156RH and CIDS DIR1 NORM 151RH.
     (b) In the avionics compartment on the C/B Panel 49VU:
  • Open the C/Bs CIDS DIR2 ESS 157RH and CIDS DIR1 ESS 150RH.
     (c) Wait for a minimum of 10 seconds.
     (d) In the avionics compartment on the C/B Panel 49VU:
  • Close the C/Bs CIDS DIR2 ESS 157RH and CIDS DIR1 ESS 150RH.
     (e) Wait for a minimum of 5 minutes.
     (f) In the avionics compartment on the C/B Panel 121VU:
  • Close the C/Bs CIDS DIR2 NORM 156RH and CIDS DIR1 NORM 151RH.
NOTE: It is possible that because of the boot up in ESS mode, there are no internal defects shown.
   (2) Do an Operational test of the Cabin and Flight Crew Interphone System
AMM 23-73-00-710-003.
   (3) Do an Operational test of the Passenger Address (PA) System
AMM 23-73-00-710-005.
Subtask 23-73-00-710-242-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Test
   (1) Do a manual reset of the CIDS as follows:
     (a) In the avionics compartment on the C/B Panel 121VU:
  • Open the C/Bs CIDS DIR2 NORM 156RH and CIDS DIR1 NORM 151RH.
     (b) In the avionics compartment on the C/B Panel 49VU:
  • Open the C/Bs CIDS DIR2 ESS 157RH and CIDS DIR1 ESS 150RH.
     (c) Wait for a minimum of 10 seconds.
     (d) In the avionics compartment on the C/B Panel 49VU:
  • Close the C/Bs CIDS DIR2 ESS 157RH and CIDS DIR1 ESS 150RH.
     (e) Wait for a minimum of 5 minutes.
     (f) In the avionics compartment on the C/B Panel 121VU:
  • Close the C/Bs CIDS DIR2 NORM 156RH and CIDS DIR1 NORM 151RH.
NOTE: It is possible that because of the boot up in ESS mode, there are no internal defects shown.
   (2) Do an Operational test of the Cabin and Flight Crew Interphone System
AMM 23-73-00-710-021.
   (3) Do an Operational test of the Passenger Address (PA) System

  • Make sure that at least one cabin door is open,
  • Make sure that the EMER LT (4WL) switch is in the OFF position,
  • Open these CBs:
    49VU: 150RH COM DIR 1/ESS
    49VU: 157RH COM DIR 2/ESS
    121VU: 151RH CIDS/DIR1/NORM
    121VU: 156RH CIDS/DIR2/NORM
  • Wait for approx. 10 s and close 156RH and 157RH,
  • Stop for approx. 180 s,
  • Do the test given in Para. 3.
   (1) If the fault continues and:
The ECAM shows the Engine Warning (E/W) CIDS 1+2
The CFDS shows DIRECTOR (CIDS2 (ACT))

     (a) If the fault continues:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring if necessary between the:
    CB 156RH and DIR-CIDS2 connector AB/E12
    CB 156RH and DIR-CIDS2 connector AC/4 ASM 237306.
    DIR-CIDS2 connector AC pin 6 and GND.
  • Install a new DIR-CIDS, 1 [101RH] AMM 23-73-34-400-001.
  • Do the test given in Para. 3.
       1 If the fault continues:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring between the:
    CB 151RH and DIR-CIDS1 connector AB/E12
    CB 151RH and DIR-CIDS1 connector AC/4
    DIR-CIDS1 connector AC/6 and GND
    DIR-CIDS1 connector AB/C12 and DIR-CIDS2 connector AB/F12 ASM 237306.
       2 Do the test given in Para. 3.
   (2) If the fault continues and:
The ECAM does not show the Engine Warning (E/W) CIDS 1+2
The CFDS shows CIDS2 (ACT)

     (a) If the fault continues:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring between the:
    CB 151RH and DIR-CIDS1 connector AB/E12
    CB 151RH and DIR-CIDS1 connector AC/4
    DIR-CIDS1 connector AC/6 and GND
    DIR-CIDS1 connector AB/C12 and DIR-CIDS2 connector AB/F12 ASM 237306.
  • Do the test given in Para. 3.

D. If there is confirmation of the fault and:
The ECAM shows the Engine Warning (E/W) CIDS 1+2
The CFDS shows DIR1 ACTIVE

  • Make sure that at least one cabin door is open.
  • Open these CBs:
    49VU: 150RH - COM/CIDS/DIR ESS/1
    49VU: 157RH - COM/CIDS/DIR ESS/2
    49VU: 15WH - AIR COND/CIDS/SDF/DIR 1 ESS
    49VU: 18WH - AIR COND/CIDS/SDF/DIR 2 ESS
    121VU: 151RH - COM NAV/CIDS/DIR/NORM/1
    121VU: 156RH - COM NAV/CIDS/DIR/NORM/2
    122VU: 14WH - AIR COND/CIDS/SDF/DIR NORM/2
    122VU: 17WH - AIR COND/CIDS/SDF/DIR NORM/1.
  • Wait for approx. 10s and close 156RH, 157RH, 14WH and 18WH.
  • Stop for approx. 180s.
  • Do the test given in Para. 3.
   (1) If the fault continues and:
The ECAM shows the Engine Warning (E/W) CIDS 1+2
The CFDS shows 237334 DIR2(102RH) DIR1 ACTIVE

     (a) If the fault continues:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring if necessary between the:
    CB 156RH and DIR-CIDS, 2 [102RH] connector AB/E12
    CB 156RH and DIR-CIDS, 2 [102RH] connector AC/4 ASM 237306
    DIR-CIDS, 2 [102RH] connector AC pin 6 and GND.
  • Install a new DIR-CIDS, 1 [101RH] AMM 23-73-34-400-001.
  • Do the test given in Para. 3.
       1 If the fault continues:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring between the:
    CB 151RH and DIR-CIDS, 1 [101RH] connector AB/E12
    CB 151RH and DIR-CIDS, 1 [101RH] connector AC/4
    DIR-CIDS, 1 [101RH] connector AC/6 and GND
    DIR-CIDS, 1 [101RH] connector AB/C12 and DIR-CIDS, 2 [102RH] connector AB/F12 ASM 237306.
  • Do the test given in Para. 3.
   (2) If the fault continues and:
The ECAM shows the Engine Warning (E/W) CIDS 1+2
The CFDS shows CIDS2, DIR2 ACTIVE

     (a) If the fault continues:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring between the:
    CB 151RH and DIR-CIDS, 1 [101RH] connector AB/E12
    CB 151RH and DIR-CIDS, 1 [101RH] connector AC/4
    DIR-CIDS, 1 [101RH] connector AC/6 and GND
    DIR-CIDS, 1 [101RH] connector AB/C12 and DIR-CIDS, 2 [102RH] connector AB/F12 ASM 237306.
  • Do the test given in Para. 3.

D. If there is confirmation of the fault and:
The ECAM shows the Engine Warning (E/W) CIDS 1+2
The CFDS shows DIR1 ACTIVE

  • Make sure that at least one cabin door is open.
  • Make sure that the EMER EXIT LT switch (4WL) is in the OFF position.
  • Open these CBs:
    49VU: 150RH COM/CIDS/DIR ESS/1,
    49VU: 157RH COM/CIDS/DIR ESS/2,
    49VU: 15WH AIR COND/CIDS/SDF/DIR 1 ESS,
    49VU: 18WH AIR COND/CIDS/SDF/DIR 2 ESS,
    121VU: 151RH COM NAV/CIDS/DIR/NORM/1,
    121VU: 156RH COM NAV/CIDS/DIR/NORM/2,
    122VU: 14WH AIR COND/CIDS/SDF/DIR NORM/2,
    122VU: 17WH AIR COND/CIDS/SDF/DIR NORM/1.
  • Wait for approx. 10s and close 156RH, 157RH, 14WH and 18WH.
  • Stop for approx. 180s.
  • Do the test given in Para. 3.
   (1) If the fault continues and:
The ECAM shows the Engine Warning (E/W) CIDS 1+2
The CFDS shows 237334 DIR2(102RH) DIR1 ACTIVE

     (a) If the fault continues:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring if necessary between the:
    CB 156RH and DIR-CIDS, 2 [102RH] connector AB/E12
    CB 156RH and DIR-CIDS, 2 [102RH] connector AC/4 ASM 237306
    DIR-CIDS, 2 [102RH] connector AC pin 6 and GND.
  • Install a new DIR-CIDS, 1 [101RH] AMM 23-73-34-400-001.
  • Do the test given in Para. 3.
       1 If the fault continues:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring between the:
    CB 151RH and DIR-CIDS, 1 [101RH] connector AB/E12
    CB 151RH and DIR-CIDS, 1 [101RH] connector AC/4
    DIR-CIDS, 1 [101RH] connector AC/6 and GND
    DIR-CIDS, 1 [101RH] connector AB/C12 and DIR-CIDS, 2 [102RH] connector AB/F12 ASM 237306.
   (2) If the fault continues and:
The ECAM shows the Engine Warning (E/W) CIDS 1+2
The CFDS shows CIDS2, DIR2 ACTIVE

     (a) If the fault continues:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring between the:
    CB 151RH and DIR-CIDS, 1 [101RH] connector AB/E12
    CB 151RH and DIR-CIDS, 1 [101RH] connector AC/4
    DIR-CIDS, 1 [101RH] connector AC/6 and GND
    DIR-CIDS, 1 [101RH] connector AB/C12 and DIR-CIDS, 2 [102RH] connector AB/F12 ASM 237306.
  • Do the test given in Para. 3.

    CB 151RH and DIR-CIDS1 connector AB/E12
    CB 156RH and DIR-CIDS2 connector AB/E12
    CB 156RH and DIR-CIDS2 connector AC/4
    DIR-CIDS1 connector AC/6 and GND
