A. Test
   (1) Do the operational test of the CVR and the CVR channel recording AMM 23-71-00-710-001.
4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 23-71-00-810-050-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. If during the operational test you do not hear the audio feedback in the loud speakers:
   (1) Do a check for continuity at the RCDR/CVR TEST relay (20RK) (between pins A and 2, pins B and 4, pins C and 6) with the RCDR/CVR TEST pushbutton switch (5RK) pushed ASM 237102.
     (a) If there is no continuity at the relay:
  • do a check for continuity at the RCDR/CVR TEST pushbutton switch (5RK) (between pins 1 and 2) with the RCDR/CVR TEST pushbutton switch (5RK) pushed ASM 237101.
       1 If there is no continuity:
  • replace the P/BSW-RCDR/CVR TEST [5RK] .
       2 If there is continuity:
  • replace the RELAY-RCDR/CVR TEST (20RK).
     (b) If there is continuity at the relay:
  • Continue the trouble shooting procedure.
   (2) If the fault continues:
     (a) Do a check for continuity at the PARKING BRK CTLD relay (14RK) (between pins A and 2, pins B and 4) with the RCDR/CVR TEST pushbutton switch (5RK) pushed ASM 237102.
       1 If there is no continuity:
  • replace the RELAY-PARKING BRK CTLD (14RK).
       2 If there is continuity:
  • do a check and repair the wiring from the RCDR/CVR TEST relay (20RK) to the PARKING BRK CTLD relay (14RK) ASM 237102.
   (3) If the fault continues:
     (a) Do a check for continuity at the Parking Brake Electrical Control Valve (102GG) (between pins B/5 and B/4) ASM 237101.
       1 If there is no continuity:
       2 If there is continuity:
  • do a check and repair the wiring from the PARKING BRK CTLD relay (14RK) pin Z to the ground terminal block ASM 237101.
   (4) If the fault continues:
     (a) Do a check for continuity to the RESISTOR [50RK] ESPM 205221.
       1 If there is no continuity:
       2 If there is continuity:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring between RELAY-PARKING BRK CTLD (14RK pin 2) and RELAY-RCDR/CVR TEST (20RK pin 4) ASM 237102.
   (5) If the fault continues:

A. If during the operational test you do not hear the audio feedback in the loud speakers:
   (1) Do a check for continuity at the RCDR/CVR TEST relay (20RK) (between pins A and 2, pins B and 4, pins C and 6) with the RCDR/CVR TEST pushbutton switch (5RK) pushed ASM 237102.
     (a) If there is no continuity at the relay:
  • do a check for continuity at the RCDR/CVR TEST pushbutton switch (5RK) (between pins 1 and 2) with the RCDR/CVR TEST pushbutton switch (5RK) pushed ASM 237101.
       1 If there is no continuity:
  • replace the P/BSW-RCDR/CVR TEST [5RK] .
       2 If there is continuity:
  • replace the RELAY-RCDR/CVR TEST (20RK).
     (b) If there is continuity at the relay:
  • Continue the trouble shooting procedure.
   (2) If the fault continues:
     (a) Do a check for continuity at the PARKING BRK CTLD relay (14RK) (between pins A and 2, pins B and 4) with the RCDR/CVR TEST pushbutton switch (5RK) pushed ASM 237102
       1 If there is no continuity:
  • replace the RELAY-PARKING BRK CTLD (14RK).
       2 If there is continuity:
  • do a check and repair the wiring from the RCDR/CVR TEST relay (20RK) to the PARKING BRK CTLD relay (14RK) ASM 237102.
   (3) If the fault continues:
     (a) Do a check for continuity at the Parking Brake Electrical Control Valve (72GG) (between pins B/E and B/D) ASM 237101.
       1 If there is no continuity:
       2 If there is continuity:
  • do a check for continuity at the Parking Brake Pressure Switch (86GG) (between pins A/B and A/A) ASM 237101.
         a If there is no continuity:
         b If there is continuity:
  • do a check and repair the wiring from the PARKING BRK CTLD relay (14RK) pin Z to the ground terminal block ASM 237101.
   (4) If the fault continues:
     (a) Do a check for continuity to the RESISTOR [50RK] and the RESISTOR [52RK] ESPM 205221.
       1 If there is no continuity:

  • Do a check for continuity between RELAY-PARKING BRK CTLD (14RK pin 2) and RELAY-RCDR/CVR TEST (20RK pin 4) ASM 237102.
  • Do a check for continuity between RELAY-PARKING BRK CTLD (14RK pin 4) and RELAY-RCDR/CVR TEST (20RK pin 6) ASM 237102.
   (5) If the fault continues:

  • replace the RELAY-PARKING BRK CTLD (14RK).
       2 If there is continuity:
  • do a check and repair the wiring from the RCDR/CVR TEST relay (20RK) to the PARKING BRK CTLD relay (14RK) ASM 237102.
   (3) If the fault continues:
     (a) Do a check for continuity at the Parking Brake Electrical Control Valve (102GG) (between pins B/5 and B/4) ASM 237101.
       1 If there is no continuity:
       2 If there is continuity:
  • do a check and repair the wiring from the PARKING BRK CTLD relay (14RK) pin Z to the ground terminal block ASM 237101.
   (4) If the fault continues:
     (a) Do a check for continuity to the RESISTOR [50RK] and the RESISTOR [52RK] ESPM 205221.
       1 If there is no continuity:

  • Do a check for continuity between RELAY-PARKING BRK CTLD (14RK pin 2) and RELAY-RCDR/CVR TEST (20RK pin 4) ASM 237102.
  • Do a check for continuity between RELAY-PARKING BRK CTLD (14RK pin 4) and RELAY-RCDR/CVR TEST (20RK pin 6) ASM 237102.
