1. Possible Causes

FAC-1 [1CC1]
wiring of the ELAC OPP HLTY COM discrete from the FAC 1 (1CC1) to the first terminal block
FAC-2 [1CC2]
wiring of the ELAC OWN HLTY MON discrete from the FAC 2 (1CC2) to the first terminal block
FMGC-1 [1CA1]
ELAC-2 [2CE2]
wiring of the ELAC OPP AP DISC MON and ELAC OPP AP DISC COM discretes from the FMGC 1 (1CA1) to the ELAC 2 (2CE2)
FMGC-2 [1CA2]
wiring of the ELAC OWN AP DISC MON and ELAC OWN AP DISC COM discretes from the FMGC 2 (1CA2) to the ELAC 2 (2CE2)

B. Test
(1) Do the test of the AFS AMM 22-96-00-710-001.

NOTE: When the APU is under MMEL, the AFS: ELAC2 message can possibly come into view before the second engine starts.
If the failure message comes into view, it will go out of view when the two engines run (but the failure message will be recorded in the PFR).
If the APU is under MMEL and if the test of the AFS is correct, no maintenance action is necessary.

4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 22-66-00-810-110-A

A. If the test gives the maintenance message AFS: ELAC2 (ISSUED BY: FAC1):

replace the FAC-1 [1CC1] AMM 22-66-34-000-002 and AMM 22-66-34-400-002.

(1) If the fault continues:

do a check and repair the wiring of the ELAC OPP HLTY COM discrete from the FAC 1 (1CC1) to the first terminal block ASM 226801.

Subtask 22-66-00-810-111-A

B. If the test gives the maintenance message AFS: ELAC2 (ISSUED BY: FAC2):

replace the FAC-2 [1CC2] AMM 22-66-34-000-002 and AMM 22-66-34-400-002.

(1) If the fault continues:

do a check and repair the wiring of the ELAC OWN HLTY MON discrete from the FAC 2 (1CC2) to the first terminal block ASM 226801.

Subtask 22-66-00-810-112-A

C. If the test gives the maintenance message AFS: ELAC2 (ISSUED BY: FG1):

replace the FMGC-1 [1CA1] AMM 22-83-34-000-001 and AMM 22-83-34-400-001.

(1) If the fault continues:

replace the ELAC-2 [2CE2] AMM 27-93-34-000-001 and AMM 27-93-34-400-001.

(2) If the fault continues:

do a check and repair the wiring of the ELAC OPP AP DISC MON and ELAC OPP AP DISC COM discretes from the FMGC 1 (1CA1) to the ELAC 2 (2CE2) ASM 228504.

D. If the test gives the maintenance message AFS: ELAC2 (ISSUED BY: FG2):

replace the FMGC-2 [1CA2] AMM 22-83-34-000-001 and AMM 22-83-34-400-001.

(1) If the fault continues:

replace the ELAC-2 [2CE2] AMM 27-93-34-000-001 and AMM 27-93-34-400-001.

(2) If the fault continues:

do a check and repair the wiring of the ELAC OWN AP DISC MON and ELAC OWN AP DISC COM discretes from the FMGC 2 (1CA2) to the ELAC 2 (2CE2) ASM 228504.
