FAC 2 FAULT Legend Comes on without ECAM Warning

1. Possible Causes

FAC-2 [1CC2]
wiring of the FAC ENGD SW COM and FAC ENGD SW MON discretes (from the FAC 2 (1CC2) to the FLT CTL/FAC 2 pushbutton switch (12CC2))
wiring of the 28VDC and GND FAC discretes (from the FAC 2 (1CC2) to the FLT CTL/FAC 2 pushbutton switch (12CC2))
RELAY-FAC2 ENGAGED [11CC2]
wiring of the FAC ENGD COM and FAC ENGD MON discretes (from the FAC 2 (1CC2) to the FAC 2 ENGAGED relay (11CC2))

3. Fault Confirmation
Subtask 22-66-00-710-120-A

A. Test
(1) Do the operational tests of the AFS AMM 22-96-00-710-001 and read the result for the FAC 2:
(a) with the FLT CTL/FAC 2 pushbutton switch (12CC2) released.
(b) with the FLT CTL/FAC 2 pushbutton switch (12CC2) pushed.

4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 22-66-00-810-089-A

A. If only the first test gives the maintenance message AFS: FAC2/P-B SW 12CC2:

replace the FAC-2 [1CC2] , AMM 22-66-34-000-002 and AMM 22-66-34-400-002.

(1) If the fault continues:

do a check and repair the wiring of the FAC ENGD SW COM and FAC ENGD SW MON discretes (from the FAC 2 (1CC2) to the FLT CTL/FAC 2 pushbutton switch (12CC2)), ASM 226501.

Subtask 22-66-00-810-090-A

B. If only the second test gives the maintenance message AFS: FAC2/P-B SW 12CC2:

replace the FAC 2 (1CC2) AMM 22-66-34-000-002 and AMM 22-66-34-400-002.

(1) If the fault continues:

do a check of the wiring of the FAC ENGD SW COM and FAC ENGD SW MON discretes (from the FAC 2 (1CC2) to the FLT CTL/FAC 2 pushbutton switch (12CC2)) ASM 226501.

(a) If there is no continuity:

repair the above wiring.

(b) If there is continuity:

do a check and repair the wiring of the 28VDC and GND FAC discretes (from the FAC 2 (1CC2) to the FLT CTL/FAC 2 pushbutton switch (12CC2)), ASM 226501.

Subtask 22-66-00-810-091-A

C. If the two tests do not give the maintenance message:

replace the FAC 2 (1CC2) AMM 22-66-34-000-002 and AMM 22-66-34-400-002.

(1) If the fault continues:

replace the RELAY-FAC2 ENGAGED [11CC2] .

(2) If the fault continues:

do a check and repair the wiring of the FAC ENGD COM and FAC ENGD MON discretes (from the FAC 2 (1CC2) to the FAC 2 ENGAGED relay (11CC2)) ASM 226501.

D. Do the test given in Para. 3.A.1.(b).
