Removal of the Oil Pressure Pump and Filter Assembly
WARNING:
DO NOT LET ENGINE OIL STAY ON YOUR SKIN FOR A LONG TIME. FLUSH THE OIL FROM YOUR SKIN WITH WATER. THE OIL IS POISONOUS AND CAN GO THROUGH YOUR SKIN AND INTO YOUR BODY.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.
CAUTION:
YOU MUST NOT CHANGE THE ADJUSTMENT OF THE OIL PRESSURE PUMP TRIM VALVE. THE ADJUSTMENT OF THE TRIM VALVE IS SET WHEN THE PUMP IS ASSEMBLED. CHANGE OF ADJUSTMENT OF THE TRIM VALVE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO ENGINE COMPONENTS.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

B. Open the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):

A. Disconnect the Air Cooled Oil Cooler (ACOC) oil supply tube
(1) Remove the three bolts (7) and disconnect the ACOC oil supply tube (8) from the oil pressure pump (10).
(2) Drain the oil in to the CONTAINER 50 L(15 USGAL).
(3) Discard the packing (9).
(4) Remove the oil pressure pump and filter assembly
(b) Remove the oil pressure pump and filter assembly (10) from the gearbox casing (1).
(5) Remove the sleeve and the suction strainer.
(b) Discard the packings (2), (4) and (11).
(6) Install the applicable COVER - PROTECTION to all exposed openings.
(1) Remove the three bolts (7) and disconnect the ACOC oil supply tube (8) from the oil pressure pump (10).
(2) Drain the oil in to the CONTAINER 50 L(15 USGAL).
(3) Discard the packing (9).
(4) Remove the oil pressure pump and filter assembly
CAUTION:
HOLD THE WEIGHT OF THE OIL PRESSURE PUMP AND FILTER ASSEMBLY DURING THE REMOVAL OF THE NUTS.
(a) Remove the six nuts (6) and the washers (5) that attach the oil pressure pump (10) to the front flange of the gearbox casing (1). (b) Remove the oil pressure pump and filter assembly (10) from the gearbox casing (1).
(5) Remove the sleeve and the suction strainer.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE SLEEVE AND THE SUCTION STRAINER DO NOT FALL DURING THE REMOVAL OF THE OIL PRESSURE PUMP.
CAUTION:
USE A TOOL WITH A BLUNT EDGE (FOR EXAMPLE A SMOOTH PUTTY KNIFE) TO SEPARATE THE PUMP FROM THE GEARBOX FLANGE. YOU MUST MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT DAMAGE THE SEALING SURFACES OF THE PUMPS PILOTING DIAMETER.
(a) Remove the sleeve (3) and the suction strainer (12). (b) Discard the packings (2), (4) and (11).
(6) Install the applicable COVER - PROTECTION to all exposed openings.
