Subtask 79-21-10-860-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 79-21-10-010-061-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.

WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
Subtask 79-21-10-420-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Install the lubrication unit
(2) If lubrication unit drive shaft (480) is removed, apply a thin layer of engine oil (Material No.CP2442) on the AIPC 72-63-00-05-230 O-RING (490).
(3) Install the new O-ring (490) on the lubrication unit drive shaft (480).
(4) Install the lubrication unit drive shaft (480) on the AGB.
(5) Lightly coat the new AIPC 79-21-10-01-180 O-RING (360), AIPC 79-21-10-01-190 O-RING (370), AIPC 79-21-10-01-430 O-RING (430), AIPC 79-21-10-01-410 O-RING (440) and AIPC 79-21-10-01-390 O-RING (450) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
(6) Install the new O-rings (430), (440) and (450) on the nipples (400), (410) and (420).
(7) Install the nipples (400) and (410) in the housing assembly and screw in place.
(8) TORQUE the nipples to between 186 and 168 lbf.in (2.10 and 1.90 m.daN )
. Safety the nipples (400) and (410) with CP8001 lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. or CP8002 lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia or CP8006 safety cable 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. or CP8007 safetywire 0.020 in. (0.50mm) dia or CP8008 safetywire 0.020 in. (0.50mm) dia .
(9) Install the nipple (420) in the housing assembly and screw in place.
(10) TORQUE the nipple to between 80 and 62 lbf.in (0.90 and 0.70 m.daN )
. Safety the nipple (420) with CP8001 lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. or CP8002 lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia or CP8006 safety cable 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. or CP8007 safetywire 0.020 in. (0.50mm) dia or CP8008 safetywire 0.020 in. (0.50mm) dia
(11) Install the O-ring (360) in the groove of the lubrication unit housing.
(12) Install the O-ring (370) in the groove of the drive shaft.
(13) Set the lubrication unit (40) in its position relative to the AGB housing. Align the dowel pin of the unit with the dowel hole of the AGB housing.
(14) Carefully engage the lubrication unit (40) into the AGB drive pad, to prevent damage or mis-installation of the O-rings (360) and (370).
(15) Install the QAD clamp (390) on the mating flanges.
(16) Lubricate the threads of the QAD clamp screw with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) .
(17) Install the nut (380) on the QAD clamp screw.
(18) TORQUE the nut (380) to between 80 and 75 lbf.in (0.90 and 0.85 m.daN )
.
(19) Lubricate the threads of nipples with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
(20) Connect the FWD sump supply tube (60) and the AGB/TGB supply hose (350) to their nipples. TORQUE the union nuts to between 530 and 442 lbf.in (6 and 5 m.daN )
.
(21) Connect the aft sump supply hose (70) to its nipple. TORQUE the union nut to between 309 and 266 lbf.in (3.5 and 3.0 m.daN )
.
(22) Install the scavenge tubes (130), (140), (150) and (160) and the oil supply tube (230) on the lubrication unit (40) as follows:
(a) Untighten the four bolts (460) of the forward sump scavenge tube (150) at AGB housing side.
(b) Make sure that mating faces are clean and in good condition.
(c) Make sure that the gaskets (190) and (200) are serviceable.
(d) Lubricate the gaskets (190) and (200) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) and install them between the mating faces.
(e) Lubricate the bolts (170) and (220) with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) .
(f) Install washers (180) and (210) and bolts (170) and (220) to attach the tubes to the lubrication unit (40).
(g) TORQUE the bolts (170) and (220) to between 53 and 49 lbf.in (0.60 and 0.55 m.daN )
.
(h) TORQUE the four bolts (460) of the forward sump scavenge tube (150) at AGB housing side to between 53 and 49 lbf.in (0.60 and 0.55 m.daN )
.
(23) Lubricate the threads of the union nut with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) and connect the oil supply tube (230) to the oil supply hose (from tank).
(24) TORQUE the union nut to between 1540 and 1340 lbf.in (17.40 and 15.14 m.daN )
. Safety the union nut with CP8001 lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. or CP8002 lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia
(25) Lubricate the threads of bolts (340) with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) .
(26) Install the bracket (320) on the lubrication unit (40) with bolts (340) and nuts (310).
(27) TORQUE the nuts (310) to between 110 and 98 lbf.in (1.24 and 1.11 m.daN )
.
(28) Lubricate the threads of bolts (80), (270) and (290) with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) .
(29) Install the bushings (110), inner spring clip (120) and the outer spring clip (100) on the aft sump supply tube.
(30) Attach the spring clips (100) and (120) to the bracket (320) with the bolt (80) and the nut (90).
(31) Install the bushings (250), inner spring clip (240) and the outer spring clip (260) on the oil supply tube (230).
(32) Attach the spring clips (240) and (260) to the bracket (320) with the bolt (270) and the nut (330).
(33) Attach the clamp (300) which holds the electrical cable (to the hydraulic pump pressure switch) to the bracket (320) with the bolt (290) and the nut (280).
(34) TORQUE the nut (90), (280) and (330) to between 110 and 98 lbf.in (1.24 and 1.11 m.daN )
.
(35) Install the master chip detector (50) on the lubrication unit (40) (Ref. AMM TASK 79-21-50-400-001).
(36) Connect the electrical connector (20) to the main oil filter differential pressure switch (30). Fully tighten by hand.
(37) Connect the electrical connector (10) to the oil temperature sensor (previously installed) on the main oil filter housing. Fully tighten by hand.
(38) Remove the oil drain container from the lubrication unit.
Subtask 79-21-10-710-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL CAUTION:
USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
(1) Remove the blanking caps and plugs from all ports and orifices. - ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
- ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
(2) If lubrication unit drive shaft (480) is removed, apply a thin layer of engine oil (Material No.CP2442) on the AIPC 72-63-00-05-230 O-RING (490).
(3) Install the new O-ring (490) on the lubrication unit drive shaft (480).
(4) Install the lubrication unit drive shaft (480) on the AGB.
(5) Lightly coat the new AIPC 79-21-10-01-180 O-RING (360), AIPC 79-21-10-01-190 O-RING (370), AIPC 79-21-10-01-430 O-RING (430), AIPC 79-21-10-01-410 O-RING (440) and AIPC 79-21-10-01-390 O-RING (450) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
(6) Install the new O-rings (430), (440) and (450) on the nipples (400), (410) and (420).
(7) Install the nipples (400) and (410) in the housing assembly and screw in place.
(8) TORQUE the nipples to between 186 and 168 lbf.in (2.10 and 1.90 m.daN )
. Safety the nipples (400) and (410) with (9) Install the nipple (420) in the housing assembly and screw in place.
(10) TORQUE the nipple to between 80 and 62 lbf.in (0.90 and 0.70 m.daN )
. Safety the nipple (420) with (11) Install the O-ring (360) in the groove of the lubrication unit housing.
(12) Install the O-ring (370) in the groove of the drive shaft.
(13) Set the lubrication unit (40) in its position relative to the AGB housing. Align the dowel pin of the unit with the dowel hole of the AGB housing.
(14) Carefully engage the lubrication unit (40) into the AGB drive pad, to prevent damage or mis-installation of the O-rings (360) and (370).
(15) Install the QAD clamp (390) on the mating flanges.
(16) Lubricate the threads of the QAD clamp screw with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) .
(17) Install the nut (380) on the QAD clamp screw.
(18) TORQUE the nut (380) to between 80 and 75 lbf.in (0.90 and 0.85 m.daN )
. (19) Lubricate the threads of nipples with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
(20) Connect the FWD sump supply tube (60) and the AGB/TGB supply hose (350) to their nipples. TORQUE the union nuts to between 530 and 442 lbf.in (6 and 5 m.daN )
. (21) Connect the aft sump supply hose (70) to its nipple. TORQUE the union nut to between 309 and 266 lbf.in (3.5 and 3.0 m.daN )
. (22) Install the scavenge tubes (130), (140), (150) and (160) and the oil supply tube (230) on the lubrication unit (40) as follows:
(a) Untighten the four bolts (460) of the forward sump scavenge tube (150) at AGB housing side.
(b) Make sure that mating faces are clean and in good condition.
(c) Make sure that the gaskets (190) and (200) are serviceable.
(d) Lubricate the gaskets (190) and (200) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) and install them between the mating faces.
(e) Lubricate the bolts (170) and (220) with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) .
(f) Install washers (180) and (210) and bolts (170) and (220) to attach the tubes to the lubrication unit (40).
(g) TORQUE the bolts (170) and (220) to between 53 and 49 lbf.in (0.60 and 0.55 m.daN )
. (h) TORQUE the four bolts (460) of the forward sump scavenge tube (150) at AGB housing side to between 53 and 49 lbf.in (0.60 and 0.55 m.daN )
. (23) Lubricate the threads of the union nut with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) and connect the oil supply tube (230) to the oil supply hose (from tank).
(24) TORQUE the union nut to between 1540 and 1340 lbf.in (17.40 and 15.14 m.daN )
. Safety the union nut with (25) Lubricate the threads of bolts (340) with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) .
(26) Install the bracket (320) on the lubrication unit (40) with bolts (340) and nuts (310).
(27) TORQUE the nuts (310) to between 110 and 98 lbf.in (1.24 and 1.11 m.daN )
. (28) Lubricate the threads of bolts (80), (270) and (290) with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) .
(29) Install the bushings (110), inner spring clip (120) and the outer spring clip (100) on the aft sump supply tube.
(30) Attach the spring clips (100) and (120) to the bracket (320) with the bolt (80) and the nut (90).
(31) Install the bushings (250), inner spring clip (240) and the outer spring clip (260) on the oil supply tube (230).
(32) Attach the spring clips (240) and (260) to the bracket (320) with the bolt (270) and the nut (330).
(33) Attach the clamp (300) which holds the electrical cable (to the hydraulic pump pressure switch) to the bracket (320) with the bolt (290) and the nut (280).
(34) TORQUE the nut (90), (280) and (330) to between 110 and 98 lbf.in (1.24 and 1.11 m.daN )
. (35) Install the master chip detector (50) on the lubrication unit (40) (Ref. AMM TASK 79-21-50-400-001).
(36) Connect the electrical connector (20) to the main oil filter differential pressure switch (30). Fully tighten by hand.
(37) Connect the electrical connector (10) to the oil temperature sensor (previously installed) on the main oil filter housing. Fully tighten by hand.
(38) Remove the oil drain container from the lubrication unit.
B. Perform a minimum idle check (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-006) and check for leaks (Ref. AMM TASK 79-00-00-210-003).
