Subtask 79-21-10-941-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 79-21-10-010-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors: (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040)

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
4. Procedure(1) Open the fan cowl doors: (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040)

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

A. Removal of the Back-up Oil Filter
(2) Remove the 4 bolts (40) which attach the back-up filter assembly (30) to the lubrication unit housing.
(3) Remove the back-up filter assembly (30) from the lubrication unit with a LOCALLY MANUFACTURED - ADAPTER attached to a HAMMER - SLIDE, PULLER, STANDARD. But, if available, it is better to use the removal tool specified in the Component Maintenance Manual of the lubrication unit:CMM 792115 with the standard slide hammer puller.
(4) Remove and discard the two O-rings (10) and (50).
(5) Do a visual inspection of the filter back-up seal (20). Do not remove if serviceable.
(6) Only if damaged, cut the back-up seal (20) with a sharp blade. Remove and discard.
(7) Send the removed back-up filter assembly (30) to the cleaning shop. For cleaning of the filter, refer toCMM 792115 .
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GLOVES AND BE CAREFUL WITH OIL SPLASHES WHEN YOU DISCONNECT OIL TUBES. HOT OIL CAN CAUSE DEEP BURNS.
CAUTION:
UNLIKE THE O-RINGS, THE BACK-UP SEALS ON THE SUPPLY FILTER COVER AND DRAIN PLUG ARE NOT EXPENDABLE ITEMS. DO NOT REMOVE THEM IF A VISUAL INSPECTION SHOWS THEY ARE SERVICEABLE. REMOVE THEM ONLY IF DAMAGED BY TEARS, CUTS AND/OR DISTORTION.
CAUTION:
THE BACK-UP OIL FILTER ASSY IS A CLEANABLE FILTER. AFTER CLEANING IT CAN BE USED AGAIN DURING A SUBSEQUENT REPLACEMENT OF THE SAME FILTER. THUS BE CAREFUL NOT TO DAMAGE THE BACK-UP FILTER AGAINST THE HOUSING, WHEN YOU REMOVE IT FROM THE LUBRICATION UNIT.
(1) Put a CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) under the back-up filter to collect the remaining oil, if any. (2) Remove the 4 bolts (40) which attach the back-up filter assembly (30) to the lubrication unit housing.
(3) Remove the back-up filter assembly (30) from the lubrication unit with a LOCALLY MANUFACTURED - ADAPTER attached to a HAMMER - SLIDE, PULLER, STANDARD. But, if available, it is better to use the removal tool specified in the Component Maintenance Manual of the lubrication unit:
(4) Remove and discard the two O-rings (10) and (50).
