A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:

4. Procedure
Subtask 78-32-48-220-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Check the gap dimension between the upper actuator stow tube and the inner surface of the fan cowl doors.
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010).
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position in the left side of the engine.
   (3) Place a piece of clay with a 0.5 in. (12.70 mm) thick wall and 1.0 in. (25.40 mm) long around the actuator tube.
   (4) Carefully close the fan cowl door (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010). Avoid loosing the clay.
   (5) Carefully open the fan cowl door (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010). Avoid loosing the clay.
   (6) Check for wear damage to the fan cowl doors. Use all the tests that are necessary to make sure that the type and extent of damaged are properly determined. Refer to SRM 542000 for fan cowl damage disposition.
   (7) Measure the clay thickness. The clay thickness is the actual gap between the upper actuator stow tube and the inner surface of the fan cowl doors.
   (8) If the gap is larger than or equal to 0.040 in. (1.02 mm), no additional work is required.
   (9) Close the fan cowl door (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010).
   (10) If the gap is smaller than 0.04 in. (1.02 mm), perform the adjustment of the thrust reverser stow tube clearance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-48-820-801).
5. Close-up
Subtask 78-32-48-410-058-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
