Removal of the Rod Supply Pipe of the Right Actuator
WARNING:
WEAR A FACE SHIELD WHICH IS RESISTANT TO HIGH PRESSURE JETS WHEN YOU WORK ON PRESSURIZED SYSTEMS.
WARNING:
DO NOT GET THE FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. IF YOU DO:
- FLUSH IT AWAY WITH CLEAN WATER
- GET MEDICAL AID.
CAUTION:
USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
1. Reason for the Job- ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
- ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.

Subtask 78-31-49-941-085-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors: (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040)

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
Subtask 78-31-49-020-083-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Rod Supply Pipe of the Right Actuator
(1) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) under the lower hydraulic actuator.
(2) Disconnect the lower rod supply hose from the actuator and let the hydraulic fluid drain into the container.
(3) Connect the lower rod supply hose to the actuator.
(4) TORQUE the coupling nut to between 150 and 130 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.47 m.daN )
.
(6) Remove the nut, the clamp, the washer and the bolt from the two half clamps which attach the electrical harness to the rod supply pipe.
(7) Disconnect the interface hydraulic hose from the rod supply pipe.
(8) Remove the nut that attach the rod supply pipe to the interface bracket.
(9) Disconnect the rod supply pipe from the middle hydraulic line bracket and the hydraulic control unit.
(10) Remove the rod supply pipe from the forward frame.
(11) Put COVER - PROTECTION on the pipe ends.
(1) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) under the lower hydraulic actuator.
(2) Disconnect the lower rod supply hose from the actuator and let the hydraulic fluid drain into the container.
(3) Connect the lower rod supply hose to the actuator.
(4) TORQUE the coupling nut to between 150 and 130 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.47 m.daN )
. NOTE: Apply a witness line of finish paint EA4 blue 5991 (Material No.CP2245) on the nut and connection after they are torqued.
(5) Remove the nuts and the bolts that attach the flange and the upper half clamp to the upper hydraulic line bracket. (6) Remove the nut, the clamp, the washer and the bolt from the two half clamps which attach the electrical harness to the rod supply pipe.
(7) Disconnect the interface hydraulic hose from the rod supply pipe.
(8) Remove the nut that attach the rod supply pipe to the interface bracket.
(9) Disconnect the rod supply pipe from the middle hydraulic line bracket and the hydraulic control unit.
(10) Remove the rod supply pipe from the forward frame.
(11) Put COVER - PROTECTION on the pipe ends.
