Removal of the Vibration Transducer


WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 77-32-15-941-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

     (b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
447AL 448AR
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 77-32-15-020-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Vibration Transducer
F Vibration Transducer ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Do not disassemble the vibration transducer kit assembly.
   (2) Remove the electrical receptacles.
     (a) Identify the installation of the electrical connectors (1) and (2). They must be installed in the same position.
     (b) Disconnect the electrical connectors (1) and (2) from the bracket (6).
     (c) Remove the nuts (7) and the bolts (4) holding bracket (6) to flange B.
     (d) Remove the bracket (6) with the transducer cable receptacles (3) and (5) connected.
   (3) Remove the transducer cables from the clip positions.
     (a) Remove the nut (24), bolt (22) and washer (23) at the clip position B.
     (b) Remove the bolts (25) and the washers (26) at the clip positions C.
     (c) Remove the bolts (27) and the washers (28) at the clip positions D.
     (d) Remove the cables from the clip positions.
   (4) Remove the transducer.
     (a) Remove the bolts (8) from the engine fan case.
NOTE: The bolts (8) hold the transducer (9) and the mounting plate (10) together, as a loose assembly.
     (b) Remove the transducer (9) with the mounting plate (10).
     (c) Discard the packing (11).

B. Put the applicable COVER - BLANKING on the openings and the electrical connectors.
