BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

HPC Stage 10 Solenoid ValveSubtask 75-32-53-941-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 75-32-53-010-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010).

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
4. Procedure(1) Open the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010).

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

A. Disconnection of the Solenoid Supply and Servo Pipeline
(2) Disconnect the solenoid supply-tube connector (1) and the air-inlet tube connector (2).
(3) Remove the air supply tube.
(5) Disconnect the solenoid servo-tube connector (4).
(6) Ensure sufficient access to the solenoid servo port is afforded.
(7) Disconnect the electrical connector (3) from the solenoid valve.
Subtask 75-32-53-480-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(1) Cut and discard the lockwire.(2) Disconnect the solenoid supply-tube connector (1) and the air-inlet tube connector (2).
(3) Remove the air supply tube.
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(4) Cut and discard the lockwire.(5) Disconnect the solenoid servo-tube connector (4).
(6) Ensure sufficient access to the solenoid servo port is afforded.
(7) Disconnect the electrical connector (3) from the solenoid valve.
B. Installation of the Bleed Valve System Test Set
(1) Install the IAE2R19437 TEST SET - BLEED VALVE.
Subtask 75-32-53-720-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Install the IAE2R19437 TEST SET - BLEED VALVE.
C. Test
(1) Set SELECT VENT switch (5) to CLOSED position.
(2) Set TEST SELECT switch (6) to SOLENOID position.
(3) Connect solenoid supply-line connection (15) to test set quick release fitting marked SOLENOID INPUT (7) with red color coded pipeline.
(4) Connect solenoid servo-line connection (16) to test set quick release fitting marked SOLENOID OUTPUT (8) with green color coded pipeline.
(5) TORQUE solenoid supply-line connection (15) and air inlet tube connector (2) to between 221 and 204 lbf.in (2.50 and 2.31 m.daN ).
(6) TORQUE solenoid servo-line connection (16) to between 177 and 159 lbf.in (2.00 and 1.80 m.daN ).
(7) Connect the solenoid electrical connection (9) to the test set 24Vdc OUTPUT socket using the cable provided.
(8) Select A on the test set CHANNEL switch (10).
(9) Select PRESSURE/VACUUM mode switch (11) on test set to PRESSURE.
(10) Set test set POWER switch (12) to OFF.
(11) Use hand pump to attain 20 psi on solenoid input pressure gauge.
(13) Check the reading on the solenoid output pressure gauge.
PASS: Solenoid output pressure rapidly rises to be within +0/-5 psi of solenoid input pressure. Pressure on both gauges may slowly decay. If the decay is greater than 5 seconds, this is acceptable.
FAIL: Solenoid output pressure and solenoid input pressure differ by greater than 5 psi. If the decay is less than 5 seconds, reject the solenoid.
(14) Release TEST SWITCH pushbutton (13).
(15) Set test set POWER switch (12) to ON.
(16) Use hand pump to attain 20 psi on solenoid input pressure gauge.
(17) Depress and hold TEST SWITCH pushbutton (13).
PASS: Green CONTINUITY light illuminates and solenoid output pressure is zero (the solenoid output pressure gauge may momentarily indicate a pressure when the TEST SWITCH pushbutton is pressed, this is acceptable).
FAIL: CONTINUITY light does not illuminate or solenoid output pressure is greater than zero (momentary indication on first pressing TEST SWITCH pushbutton is acceptable).
(19) With B selected on CHANNEL switch (10), repeat steps (9)-(17).
Subtask 75-32-53-080-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Set SELECT VENT switch (5) to CLOSED position.
(2) Set TEST SELECT switch (6) to SOLENOID position.
(3) Connect solenoid supply-line connection (15) to test set quick release fitting marked SOLENOID INPUT (7) with red color coded pipeline.
(4) Connect solenoid servo-line connection (16) to test set quick release fitting marked SOLENOID OUTPUT (8) with green color coded pipeline.
(5) TORQUE solenoid supply-line connection (15) and air inlet tube connector (2) to between 221 and 204 lbf.in (2.50 and 2.31 m.daN )
. (6) TORQUE solenoid servo-line connection (16) to between 177 and 159 lbf.in (2.00 and 1.80 m.daN )
. (7) Connect the solenoid electrical connection (9) to the test set 24Vdc OUTPUT socket using the cable provided.
(8) Select A on the test set CHANNEL switch (10).
(9) Select PRESSURE/VACUUM mode switch (11) on test set to PRESSURE.
(10) Set test set POWER switch (12) to OFF.
(11) Use hand pump to attain 20 psi on solenoid input pressure gauge.
NOTE: Pause for three seconds after each stroke. This allows air to flow into pump valves and makes the task easier.
(12) Depress and hold TEST SWITCH pushbutton (13). (13) Check the reading on the solenoid output pressure gauge.
PASS: Solenoid output pressure rapidly rises to be within +0/-5 psi of solenoid input pressure. Pressure on both gauges may slowly decay. If the decay is greater than 5 seconds, this is acceptable.
FAIL: Solenoid output pressure and solenoid input pressure differ by greater than 5 psi. If the decay is less than 5 seconds, reject the solenoid.
(14) Release TEST SWITCH pushbutton (13).
(15) Set test set POWER switch (12) to ON.
(16) Use hand pump to attain 20 psi on solenoid input pressure gauge.
(17) Depress and hold TEST SWITCH pushbutton (13).
PASS: Green CONTINUITY light illuminates and solenoid output pressure is zero (the solenoid output pressure gauge may momentarily indicate a pressure when the TEST SWITCH pushbutton is pressed, this is acceptable).
FAIL: CONTINUITY light does not illuminate or solenoid output pressure is greater than zero (momentary indication on first pressing TEST SWITCH pushbutton is acceptable).
NOTE: Input pressure will gradually decay while the test set switch is being pressed. This is acceptable.
(18) Release the TEST SWITCH pushbutton (13). (19) With B selected on CHANNEL switch (10), repeat steps (9)-(17).
D. Disconnection of the Test Set
(1) Disconnect the electrical test lead from the solenoid valve electrical connector (9) and the test set.
(2) Disconnect the red and green test hoses from the solenoid supply-line connection (15) and solenoid servo-line connection (16) and from the test set quick release connections (7) and (8).
Subtask 75-32-53-480-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Disconnect the electrical test lead from the solenoid valve electrical connector (9) and the test set.
(2) Disconnect the red and green test hoses from the solenoid supply-line connection (15) and solenoid servo-line connection (16) and from the test set quick release connections (7) and (8).
E. Reconnection of the Engine Pneumatic and Electrical Services
(1) Reconnect the aircraft electrical connector (3) to the solenoid valve.
(2) Reconnect the solenoid supply-tube connector (1), air-inlet tube connector (2) and solenoid servo-tube connector (4) to the solenoid valve.
(3) TORQUE the solenoid supply-tube connector (1) and the air-inlet tube connector (2) to between 221 and 204 lbf.in (2.50 and 2.31 m.daN ).
(4) TORQUE the solenoid servo-tube connector (4) to between 177 and 159 lbf.in (2.00 and 1.80 m.daN ).
5. Close-up(1) Reconnect the aircraft electrical connector (3) to the solenoid valve.
(2) Reconnect the solenoid supply-tube connector (1), air-inlet tube connector (2) and solenoid servo-tube connector (4) to the solenoid valve.
(3) TORQUE the solenoid supply-tube connector (1) and the air-inlet tube connector (2) to between 221 and 204 lbf.in (2.50 and 2.31 m.daN )
. (4) TORQUE the solenoid servo-tube connector (4) to between 177 and 159 lbf.in (2.00 and 1.80 m.daN )

A. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010).

(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
