Removal of the Fuel Flow Transmitter
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL NOT TO GET AIRCRAFT FUEL IN YOUR MOUTH OR IN YOUR EYES.
IF YOU GET FUEL ON YOUR SKIN OR ON YOUR CLOTHES, FLUSH IT IMMEDIATELY WITH WATER.
IF NECESSARY, GET MEDICAL HELP.
AIRCRAFT FUEL IS POISONOUS.
CAUTION:
DO NOT SHIP OR STORE THE FUEL FLOW TRANSMITTER DRY. IT MUST CONTAIN PROPER FLUID AT ALL TIMES TO PREVENT INTERNAL DAMAGE.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.

B. Open the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):

A. Removal of the Fuel Flow Transmitter
(1) Disconnect the tube clips.
(a) Remove the bolt (11), washer (12) and clip (13) from the clip point at Detail B.
(b) Remove the bolt (14), washer (15), clip (16) and nut (17) from the clip point at Detail C.
(c) Remove the bolt (23), clips (24) and (25), washer (26) and nut (27) from the clip point at Detail E.
(d) Remove the bolt (28), washer (29), clips (30) and (33), raceway (31) and spacer (32) from the clip point at Detail F.
(e) Remove the bolt (36), washer (35) and clip (34) from the clip point at Detail F.
(2) Disconnect the bonding lead.
(a) Remove the nut (22), bolt (18) and washers (21) and (19) from the raceway lug at Detail D.
(b) Remove the bonding lead tag (20) from the raceway lug.
(3) Disconnect the electrical connector (54) from the fuel flow transmitter.
(4) Remove the fuel outlet tube.
(a) Put the CONTAINER - CLEAN, APPLICABLE in position under the fuel flow transmitter.
(b) Remove the three bolts (50) that attach the outlet tube (52) and the bracket (51) to the fuel flow transmitter. Remove the bracket (51).
(c) Using a IAE1R18001 WRENCH or alternative tool to disconnect the union and remove the outlet tube (52) and the sealing ring (53).
(d) Discard the sealing ring (53).
(5) Remove the fuel flow transmitter.
(a) Support the fuel flow transmitter and remove the three bolts (46) and the bracket (47).
(b) Remove the fuel flow transmitter.
(c) Remove the sealing ring (49) from the inlet tube (48).
(d) Discard the sealing ring (49).
(e) Fill the fuel flow transmitter with material oil (Material No.V10-103) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-010).
Subtask 73-31-17-620-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Disconnect the tube clips.
(a) Remove the bolt (11), washer (12) and clip (13) from the clip point at Detail B.
(b) Remove the bolt (14), washer (15), clip (16) and nut (17) from the clip point at Detail C.
(c) Remove the bolt (23), clips (24) and (25), washer (26) and nut (27) from the clip point at Detail E.
(d) Remove the bolt (28), washer (29), clips (30) and (33), raceway (31) and spacer (32) from the clip point at Detail F.
(e) Remove the bolt (36), washer (35) and clip (34) from the clip point at Detail F.
(2) Disconnect the bonding lead.
(a) Remove the nut (22), bolt (18) and washers (21) and (19) from the raceway lug at Detail D.
(b) Remove the bonding lead tag (20) from the raceway lug.
(3) Disconnect the electrical connector (54) from the fuel flow transmitter.
(4) Remove the fuel outlet tube.
(a) Put the CONTAINER - CLEAN, APPLICABLE in position under the fuel flow transmitter.
(b) Remove the three bolts (50) that attach the outlet tube (52) and the bracket (51) to the fuel flow transmitter. Remove the bracket (51).
(c) Using a IAE1R18001 WRENCH or alternative tool to disconnect the union and remove the outlet tube (52) and the sealing ring (53).
(d) Discard the sealing ring (53).
(5) Remove the fuel flow transmitter.
(a) Support the fuel flow transmitter and remove the three bolts (46) and the bracket (47).
(b) Remove the fuel flow transmitter.
(c) Remove the sealing ring (49) from the inlet tube (48).
(d) Discard the sealing ring (49).
(e) Fill the fuel flow transmitter with material oil (Material No.V10-103) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-010).
B. Install CAP - BLANKING to all openings.
