3. Job Set-up
Subtask 73-22-49-941-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

4. Procedure
Subtask 73-22-49-020-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Disconnect the Flexible Hose
   (1) Removal of the lockwire
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (a) Cut and discard the lockwire from the flexible hose (4) connector.
   (2) Disconnect the flexible hose (4) from the union (3).
NOTE: Do not remove the union (3) from the EEC (1).
   (3) Shake the end of the flexible hose to remove moisture.

B. Purge the Air Tubing into the Engine
   (1) Blow out all contamination from the air tubing (4) into the engine with a NITROGEN COMPRESSED SOURCE 5 BAR (72.5 PSI) - (DRY) or a clean AIR SOURCE 5 BAR (72.5 PSI) at 75 psi (5.17 bar) for three minutes.
     (a) Make sure that the nitrogen or air flows freely through the air tubing.

C. Connect the Flexible Hose
NOTE: Make sure that all the tubes, which make up the air tubing, are correctly connected. Joints that leak can let moisture into the line and cause P2.5 problems.
   (1) Make sure that the union (3) has no debris or contamination.
   (2) Install the flexible hose (4) onto the union (3).
   (3) TORQUE the connector to between 150 and 142 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.60 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).

   (4) Safety the connector:
(a) Safety the connector with lockwire (Material No.V02-126) .

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

     (b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)

   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
