FADEC System Wiring Harness Operation Test

1. Reason for the Job
The harness interactive test checks for harness and connector failures. During the test, the suspected harnesses must be moved to help reproduce fault messages reported by the Electronic Engine Control (EEC).
Use this procedure to perform harness checks to isolate intermittent EEC monitored faults.
This procedure also includes detailed on-wing engine harness checks if time permits.

CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.

A. Do the FADEC System Wiring Harness Operation Test
NOTE: The FADEC system wiring harness operation test is currently not available. To check for harness and connector failures TSM 71-00-00-810-835.
   (1) Installation of protection covers
CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
     (a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
   (2) Use the multipurpose control and display unit to do a ground harness test.
   (3) If any faults appear, refer to the relevant task in the Troubleshooting Manual.
   (4) Examine the assembly for foreign objects, damage and correct assembly.
   (5) Removal of protection covers
CAUTION: REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
     (a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.
