A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

Make sure that the wave spring and retaining ring are correctly installed on the inner boss of the fuel filter cover (40).

(b) Install the new AIPC 73-11-10-01-350 O-RING (10) and AIPC 73-11-10-01-350 O-RING (30) in the related groove of the new AIPC 73-11-10-01-340 FUEL FILTER ELEMENT (20) located at both ends. Soak the new O'rings with engine fuel and slightly lubricate the new O-rings with vaseline (Material No.CP5070) .

(d) Install the new AIPC 73-11-10-01-310 O-RING (90), in the related groove of the fuel filter cover (40), soak the new O-ring with engine fuel and lubricate it with vaseline (Material No.CP5070) .
(e) Carefully install the fuel filter element (20) into the filter cover (40).
(f) Visually inspect through the fuel filter element (20) that the packing O-ring (30) has not released from its groove and check that the filter element does not move.
(i) Install the bolts (100) as follows:
2 Install the 6 bolts (100), the 6 washers (110), the 6 self-aligning washers (130) and nuts (120) to obey the assembly configuration.
(j) Engage the bolt freely by hand (hold the bolt head with fingers, no tool is permitted) and rotate for two complete turns minimum (it should not be possible to fully hand tighten bolts).
(k) Torque the bolts (100).

(l) Unscrew the 6 bolts and TORQUE them again to between 80 and 70 lbf.in (0.90 and 0.79 m.daN )
(m) Install a new AIPC 73-11-10-01-290 O-RING (80), soak the new O-ring with engine fuel and lubricate it with vaseline (Material No.CP5070) , on drain plug (70).
(n) Install drain plug (70) lightly coated with engine fuel. TORQUE drain plug to between 55 and 45 lbf.in (0.62 and 0.51 m.daN )
. Safety with CP8001 SAFETY WIRE 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. or CP8002 SAFETY WIRE 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia SPM 707012 .

NOTE: This subtask is for engines that have a fuel filter cover attachment with six bolts, six washers, six self-aligning nuts and six self-aligning washers.
(1) Install the Fuel Filter Element (20) as follows: WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
(a) Clean the fuel filter housing and the fuel filter cover (40) with de-aromatized petroleum (Material No.CP5074) or isopropyl alcohol (Material No.CP1041) or acetone (Material No.CP1039) . Make sure that the wave spring and retaining ring are correctly installed on the inner boss of the fuel filter cover (40).

(b) Install the new AIPC 73-11-10-01-350 O-RING (10) and AIPC 73-11-10-01-350 O-RING (30) in the related groove of the new AIPC 73-11-10-01-340 FUEL FILTER ELEMENT (20) located at both ends. (d) Install the new AIPC 73-11-10-01-310 O-RING (90), in the related groove of the fuel filter cover (40), soak the new O-ring with engine fuel and lubricate it with vaseline (Material No.CP5070) .
(e) Carefully install the fuel filter element (20) into the filter cover (40).
(f) Visually inspect through the fuel filter element (20) that the packing O-ring (30) has not released from its groove and check that the filter element does not move.
CAUTION:
DO NOT USE BOLTS TO HELP COVER FILTER ENGAGEMENT. A WOOD OR PLASTIC HAMMER MAY HELP TO ENGAGE THE COVER IF NECESSARY.
(g) Carefully place the filter cover (40) and the fuel filter element (20) into the filter housing. NOTE: For engines with CFM SB 73-0107 applied, adjust the tabs of the AIPC 73-11-10-01-340 FUEL FILTER ELEMENT (20) between the ribs of the filter housing.
(h) Before bolt installation, make sure that the cover is well seated against the housing flange. (i) Install the bolts (100) as follows:
CAUTION:
DO NOT INTERMIX THE DIFFERENT HARDWARE OF INSTALLATION KITS. THERE ARE TWO SUPPLIERS FOR THE HARDWARE ASSEMBLY KITS PH030035-4 OR NAS1727-4D. THE SPHERICAL PROFILE OF NUTS AND WASHERS IS DIFFERENT. THESE TWO DIFFERENT HARDWARE HAVE VISUALLY THE SAME DESIGN BUT THEY HAVE DIFFERENT SPHERICAL PROFILES. INCORRECT BOLT, NUT AND WASHER INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE HARDWARE DAMAGE.
1 Lubricate the 6 head faces of the bolt (100) (in contact with the flat washer (110)), the 6 threads of bolts and the 6 spherical sides of the self-aligning nut (120) with graphite compound (Material No. CP2101). 2 Install the 6 bolts (100), the 6 washers (110), the 6 self-aligning washers (130) and nuts (120) to obey the assembly configuration.
(j) Engage the bolt freely by hand (hold the bolt head with fingers, no tool is permitted) and rotate for two complete turns minimum (it should not be possible to fully hand tighten bolts).
(k) Torque the bolts (100).
CAUTION:
YOU MUST TIGHTEN THE BOLTS WITH APPROPRIATE TOOLS (PRESET TORQUE WRENCH). EXCESSIVE TORQUE MAY LEAD TO DAMAGE THE HARDWARE.
1 TORQUE the bolts (100) to between 80 and 70 lbf.in (0.90 and 0.79 m.daN )
. (l) Unscrew the 6 bolts and TORQUE them again to between 80 and 70 lbf.in (0.90 and 0.79 m.daN )

(m) Install a new AIPC 73-11-10-01-290 O-RING (80), soak the new O-ring with engine fuel and lubricate it with vaseline (Material No.CP5070) , on drain plug (70).
(n) Install drain plug (70) lightly coated with engine fuel. TORQUE drain plug to between 55 and 45 lbf.in (0.62 and 0.51 m.daN )

(e) Carefully install the fuel filter element (20) into the filter cover (40).
(f) Visually inspect through the fuel filter element (20) that the O-ring (30) has not released from its groove and check that the filter element does not move.
(g) Apply the following material.
(h) Carefully install the fuel filter element (20) and the cover (40) into the filter housing.
(j) Install flat washers (330) and nuts (320).
(k) Make sure that the nuts (320) screw freely by hand, as follows:
(l) Install flat washer (340) and bolt (350).
(n) TORQUE the nuts (320) and the bolt (350) to between 80 and 70 lbf.in (0.90 and 0.79 m.daN )

(o) Soak a new AIPC 73-11-10-01-290 O-RING (80) with engine fuel and lubricate it with vaseline (Material No.CP5070) and install the O-ring on the drain plug (70).
(p) Lightly lubricate the drain plug thread (70) with engine fuel. Install and TORQUE the drain plug (70) to between 55 and 45 lbf.in (0.62 and 0.51 m.daN )

(1) Install the Fuel Filter Element (20) as follows: WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.

(g) Apply the following material.

1 Apply graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) on the 5 D-bolt (300) threads, flat washers (330), nuts (320) (face in contact with flat washer) and on the bolt (350) thread. (h) Carefully install the fuel filter element (20) and the cover (40) into the filter housing.
NOTE: For engines with CFM SB 73-0107 applied, adjust the tabs of the AIPC 73-11-10-01-340 FUEL FILTER ELEMENT (20) between the ribs of the filter housing.
(i) Before bolt installation, make sure that the cover is correctly seated against the housing flange. (j) Install flat washers (330) and nuts (320).
(k) Make sure that the nuts (320) screw freely by hand, as follows:
NOTE: No tools are permitted.
1 Rotate each nut for two complete turns minimum. If the attaching part is in good condition, it should not be possible to fully hand tighten the nut. (l) Install flat washer (340) and bolt (350).
NOTE: Only one bolt is used in the hole adjacent to the nameplate.
(m) Make sure that the bolt engages freely by hand, as follows: NOTE: No tools are permitted.
1 Hold the bolt head between your fingers and rotate the bolt the minimum number of turns. If the insert is in good condition, it should not be possible to fully hand tighten the bolt. (n) TORQUE the nuts (320) and the bolt (350) to between 80 and 70 lbf.in (0.90 and 0.79 m.daN )
. (o) Soak a new AIPC 73-11-10-01-290 O-RING (80) with engine fuel and lubricate it with vaseline (Material No.CP5070) and install the O-ring on the drain plug (70).
(p) Lightly lubricate the drain plug thread (70) with engine fuel. Install and TORQUE the drain plug (70) to between 55 and 45 lbf.in (0.62 and 0.51 m.daN )

(f) Visually inspect through the fuel filter element (20) that the packing O-ring (30) has not released from its groove and check that the fuel filter element does not move.
(g) Apply graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) on the 5 D-bolt (300) threads, flat washers (330), nuts (320) (face in contact with flat washer) and on the bolt (110) or (120) thread.
2 Install the bolt (100), the washer (110), the self-aligning washer (130) and nuts (120) to obey the assembly configuration.
(k) Engage the bolt (100) freely by hand, as follows:
(l) Install flat washers (330) and nuts (320).
(m) Make sure that the nuts (320) screw freely by hand, as follows:
(n) TORQUE the bolt (100) to between 80 and 70 lbf.in (0.90 and 0.79 m.daN )

(o) Unscrew the bolt (100) and TORQUE it again to between 80 and 70 lbf.in (0.90 and 0.79 m.daN )

(p) TORQUE the nuts (320) to between 80 and 70 lbf.in (0.90 and 0.79 m.daN )
.
(q) Soak a new AIPC 73-11-10-01-290 O-RING (80) with engine fuel, lubricate it with vaseline (Material No.CP5070) and install the O-ring on the drain plug (70).
(r) Lightly lubricate the drain plug thread (70) with engine fuel. Install and TORQUE the drain plug (70) to between 55 and 45 lbf.in (0.62 and 0.51 m.daN )

(1) Install the Fuel Filter Element (20) as follows: WARNING:

(h) Carefully install the filter element (20) and the cover (40) into the filter housing. NOTE: For engines with CFM SB 73-0107 applied, adjust the tabs of the AIPC 73-11-10-01-340 FUEL FILTER ELEMENT (20) between the ribs of the filter housing.
(i) Before bolt installation, make sure that the cover is correctly seated against the housing flange. CAUTION:

NOTE: No tools are permitted.

(m) Make sure that the nuts (320) screw freely by hand, as follows:

1 Rotate each nut for two complete turns minimum. If the attaching part is in good condition, it should not be possible to fully hand tighten the nut. (n) TORQUE the bolt (100) to between 80 and 70 lbf.in (0.90 and 0.79 m.daN )
. (o) Unscrew the bolt (100) and TORQUE it again to between 80 and 70 lbf.in (0.90 and 0.79 m.daN )
. (p) TORQUE the nuts (320) to between 80 and 70 lbf.in (0.90 and 0.79 m.daN )
. (q) Soak a new AIPC 73-11-10-01-290 O-RING (80) with engine fuel, lubricate it with vaseline (Material No.CP5070) and install the O-ring on the drain plug (70).
(r) Lightly lubricate the drain plug thread (70) with engine fuel. Install and TORQUE the drain plug (70) to between 55 and 45 lbf.in (0.62 and 0.51 m.daN )
