3. Job Set-up

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):
(a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
437AL, 438AR.
(b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
447AL, 448AR.
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position to give access to the engine identification plate.

4. Procedure
Subtask 72-32-85-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Remove the name plate bracket and the engine identification plate from the fan case.

NOTE: The engine identification plate of PRE SBE 72-0378 is the single rating engine identification plate.

NOTE: The engine identification plate of POST SBE 72-0378 is the all-model rating engine identification plate.

PRE SBE 72-0378

(1) Remove the two bolts (15) and the nuts (12) that attach the name plate bracket (11) to the flange FE of the fan case.
(2) Remove the four bolts (13) that attach the engine identification plate (4) to the name plate bracket (11).

POST SBE 72-0378

(3) Remove the two bolts (5) that attach the name plate bracket (1) to the flange FE of the fan case.
(4) Remove the four bolts (3) and the nuts (2) that attach the engine identification plate (4) to the name plate bracket (1).
