WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
4. Procedure(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.

DO NOT LET TITANIUM DUST COLLECT. DISCARD ALL TITANIUM WASTE IN AN APPROVED CONTAINER. TITANIUM DUST IS EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE.
WARNING:
DO NOT USE WATER TO EXTINGUISH A TITANIUM FIRE. EXTINGUISH WITH AN APPROVED CHEMICAL FOR METAL FIRES.
WARNING:
DO NOT USE HALOGEN PRODUCTS. TITANIUM ALLOY PARTS REACT TO CHLORINATED HYDROCARBONS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, INJURY TO PERSONS CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION:
WHEN YOU PROCESS TITANIUM PARTS, DO NOT USE TOOL FIXTURE DETAILS MADE OF OR COATED WITH CADMIUM, BISMUTH, TIN, ZINC, GOLD OR SILVER. IF YOU DO, THESE MATERIALS CAN HAVE AN UNWANTED EFFECT ON THE TITANIUM PARTS.
CAUTION:
DO NOT USE TOOLS THAT WERE USED ON OTHER MATERIALS. IT WILL CAUSE CONTAMINATION OF THE TITANIUM. KEEP THE BLENDING ABRASIVE TOOLS USED FOR TITANIUM SEPARATE FROM TOOLS USED FOR OTHER METALS. IF YOU ARE NOT SURE OF THE PREVIOUS USE OF THE ABRASIVE TOOL, DISCARD IT AND USE A NEW ABRASIVE TOOL.
CAUTION:
WHEN YOU USE POWER TOOLS, MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT CAUSE HEAT THAT WILL RESULT IN THERMAL STRESS. THERMAL STRESS CAN CAUSE ENGINE FAILURE.

B. Removal of the Grease

C. Blending of the Area
SPM 704112 or SPM 704111 :
(a) Blend the part. Refer to the Para. 4.A.
(b) If there are two areas blended, make sure that the Dim. D is in the limits. Refer to the Para. 4.A.
(c) (d) Make sure that after blending the roughness of the surface is 0.000063 in. (0.0016 mm).

USE PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT. METAL PARTICLES CAN CAUSE DAMAGE, INJURY OR IRRITATION.
CAUTION:
WHEN YOU DO THE BLENDING, REMOVE ONLY THE MINIMUM QUANTITY OF MATERIAL NECESSARY TO REMOVE THE DEFECT. IF YOU REMOVE TOO MUCH MATERIAL, DAMAGE TO THE PART CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE BLENDED AREAS MAKE A SMOOTH CONTOUR INTO THE ADJACENT AREAS. IF NOT, DAMAGE TO THE PART CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION:
YOU MUST NOT DO MORE THAN TWO REPAIRS FOR EACH LEADING EDGE OF THE OGV STRUTS.
CAUTION:
BE CAREFUL NOT TO BLEND ON THE LEADING EDGE OF THE INNER PLATFORM FILLET.
(1) Blend the area to repair as follows (a) Blend the part. Refer to the Para. 4.A.
(b) If there are two areas blended, make sure that the Dim. D is in the limits. Refer to the Para. 4.A.
(c) (d) Make sure that after blending the roughness of the surface is 0.000063 in. (0.0016 mm).
D. Cleaning of the Blended Area
(1) Clean the blended areaSPM 702111 .

E. Swab all the blended areas to be etched with S1093 Titanium Alloys Etchant SPM 705311 .
