Subtask 72-23-00-860-061-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M (3 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 72-23-00-420-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Install the fan forward acoustical panels as follows:
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE PS12 INSTRUMENTATION NIPPLE WHICH COMES OUT OF THE FAN INLET CASE IS CORRECTLY ENGAGED IN THE PANEL.
CAUTION: COATING SCREWS IS MANDATORY.
   (1) Apply a layer of vaseline (Material No.CP5070) to the threads of all the screws that attach the acoustical panels and to the contact faces below the screw heads.
   (2) Do a visual inspection of the forward acoustical panel cup (Ref. AMM TASK 72-23-00-280-005)
   (3) If panel cup is found pierced (Ref. AMM TASK 72-23-00-400-044).
   (4) Install the panel assy on the forward case, and attach it with six screws (80).
CAUTION: DO NOT EXCEED THE SPEED OF 200 RPM TO TORQUE ALL ACOUSTICAL PANEL SCREWS BY USING PNEUMATIC OR ELECTRICAL SCREW DRIVERS.
   (5) Measure the self-locking nut torque of each nut when you start to tighten the screw.
NOTE: Whenever possible, start the torque with the screws in the center of the acoustical panels.
NOTE: Make sure that the screws are not damaged, replace them if necessary.

     (a) If the self-locking nut torque is less than 4.5 lbf.in (0.05 m.daN), (Ref. AMM TASK 72-23-00-400-043).

     (b) If the self-locking nut torque is less than 4.5 lbf.in (0.05 m.daN) install the acoustical panels attachment locking screw/nut (Ref. AMM TASK 72-23-00-400-043) or replace the riveted self-locking nut (Ref. AMM TASK 72-23-00-300-045).

     (c) If the self-locking nut torque is less than 4.5 lbf.in (0.05 m.daN), replace the self-locking nut (Ref. AMM TASK 72-23-00-300-045).

     (d) If the self-locking nut torque is more than 4.5 lbf.in (0.05 m.daN), but less than 31 lbf.in (0.35 m.daN):
       1 TORQUE the screws to between 139.65 and 126.35 lbf.in (1.58 and 1.43 m.daN ) T.
       2 Loosen the screws.
       3 TORQUE the screws to between 139.65 and 126.35 lbf.in (1.58 and 1.43 m.daN )
T again.
     (e) If the self-locking nut torque is more than 31 lbf.in (0.35 m.daN), replace the self-locking nut (
Ref. AMM TASK 72-23-00-300-045).
Subtask 72-23-00-420-080-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Optional Procedure
   (1) Apply RTV 732 for forward acoustical panels as follows:
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU APPLY MATERIAL RTV 732 AT AN AMBIENT TEMPERATURE OF 59 TO 95 DEG.F (15 TO 35 DEG.C) AND WITH A HYGROMETRY OF 40 TO 70 PERCENT. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, THERE IS A RISK THAT MATERIAL RTV 732 WILL NOT DRY CORRECTLY.
     (a) Apply RTV 732 (Material No.CP2242) between forward acoustical panels and between aft edge of forward acoustical panels and fan inlet case SPM 706612380024. Polish up to the duct profile.
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
