3. Job Set-up
Subtask 72-21-60-941-054-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
4. Procedure
Subtask 72-21-60-350-052-A
A. Replacement of the Self-Locking Shank Nuts (1) on the Platform Front Shroud
   (1) Removal of the self-locking shank nut (1) to repair.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT DISTORT THE PART WHEN YOU REMOVE THE SELF-LOCKING SHANK NUT. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
     (a) Remove the self-locking shank nut(s) (1) to repair SPM 704251.
   (2) Crimping of the new self-locking shank nuts (1).
     (a) Clean the area on which the self-locking shank nut (1) is installed with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) moist with acetone (Material No.CP1039) , methyl ethyl ketone (Material No.CP1040) , isopropyl alcohol (Material No.CP1041) or diestone DLS (Material No.CP2687) .
     (b) Do a fluorescent-penetrant-inspection of the area on which is installed the self-locking shank nut (1) SPM 703223. No crack permitted.
     (c) Do a visual inspection of the repaired area. No tear, wear, high metal or foreign particles permitted.
     (d) Do the dimensional inspection of the DIA B. DIA B must be between 0.3327 in. (8.45 mm) to 0.3366 in. (8.55 mm).
     (e) Install the new EIPC 72-00-01-54-061 SELF-LOCKING SHANK NUT (1). SPM 704251 and refer to the instructions below:
       1 No crack permitted in the shank after crimping.
5. Close-up

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
