A. This inspection procedure is to be done if Desiccant Bags and Humidity indicators have been placed in inlet and exhaust of the engine.
   (1) When you use desiccants, you must inspect and change them regularly as applicable. As an example, start monitoring of the desiccant bags as follow that will help to determine the effective interval for desiccant bags replacement.
     (a) The suggested schedule is as follows:
  • Second day after storage
  • Fourteenth day after storage
  • Every three months
NOTE: The best condition for engine storage is to keep an environment with less than 70 percent of humidity.

B. Procedure
   (1) Remove cover and protective material as necessary to get access to humidity indicators.
   (2) Do a check of the humidity indicators card and desiccant bags (Material No.CP2098) (with humidity indicator). Their color must show a relative humidity of less than 70 percent.
   (3) If necessary, replace desiccant bags (Material No.CP2098) (with humidity indicator) as follows:
     (a) Open the plastic film cover.
     (b) Remove, discard and replace Desiccant Bags and Humidity indicators card by new ones.
     (c) Put protection material and cover back in place.
