Installation of the Aft Mount Assembly
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE AFTER SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE CAN STAY HOT FOR A LONG TIME. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, INJURY CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION:
THIS PART IS A REMOVABLE STRUCTURAL COMPONENT (RSC), WHICH CAN BE MOVED BETWEEN AIRCRAFT. THUS IT CAN HAVE DIFFERENT OPERATION CONDITIONS AND A DIFFERENT LIFE RECORD (FLIGHT HOURS/FLIGHT CYCLES/CALENDAR) FROM THE AIRCRAFT IT IS INSTALLED ON OR REMOVED FROM. THE OPERATOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SPECIFIC TRACKING AND CONTINUED AIRWORTHINESS OF REMOVABLE STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS. INCORRECT MAINTENANCE OF THESE COMPONENTS CAN CAUSE A RISK FOR THE FLIGHT SAFETY.

A. Preparation before Installation
(1) Make sure that the 636-1000-30GSE ENGINE MOUNT HOISTING DEVICE AFTPWA211466 FIXTURE, LIFT (14) is installed on the aft mount assembly (13).
(a) Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
Subtask 71-22-41-420-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the 636-1000-30GSE ENGINE MOUNT HOISTING DEVICE AFTPWA211466 FIXTURE, LIFT (14) is installed on the aft mount assembly (13).
(a) Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
B. Installation of the Aft Mount Assembly
(2) Install the three points shackle pin on the right side.
(a) Install the pin (6), the new AIPC 71-22-86-01-040 WASHER (2) or the new AIPC 71-22-86-02-040 WASHER (2) and the bolt (1).
1 Install the bolt (1) with its head on the rear side.
(b) Install the new AIPC 71-22-86-01-040 WASHER (5) or the new AIPC 71-22-86-02-040 WASHER (5) and the new AIPC 71-22-86-01-020 NUT (4) or the new AIPC 71-22-86-02-020 NUT (4).
(c) TORQUE the nut (4) to between 2.69 and 2.24 m.daN (19.84 and 16.52 lbf.ft ).
(e) Make sure that the washers (2) and (5) cover fully the shoulder of the bushes.
(3) Install the two points shackle pin on the left side.
(a) Install the pin (6), the new AIPC 71-22-86-01-040 WASHER (2) or the new AIPC 71-22-86-02-040 WASHER (2) and the bolt (1).
1 Install the bolt (1) with its head on the rear side.
(b) Install the new AIPC 71-22-86-01-040 WASHER (5) or the new AIPC 71-22-86-02-040 WASHER (5) and the new AIPC 71-22-86-01-020 NUT (4) or the new AIPC 71-22-86-02-020 NUT (4).
(c) TORQUE the nut (4) to between 2.69 and 2.24 m.daN (19.84 and 16.52 lbf.ft ).
(e) Make sure that the washers (2) and (5) cover fully the shoulder of the bushes.
(4) Install the waiting fail safe pin.
(a) Install the pin (12), the new AIPC 71-22-86-01-080 WASHER (8) or the new AIPC 71-22-86-02-080 WASHER (8) and the bolt (7).
1 Install the bolt (7) with its head on the rear side.
(b) Install the new AIPC 71-22-86-01-080 WASHER (11) or the new AIPC 71-22-86-02-080 WASHER (11) and the new AIPC 71-22-86-01-060 NUT (10) or the new AIPC 71-22-86-02-060 NUT (10).
(c) TORQUE the nut (10) to between 11.5 and 9.63 m.daN (84.81 and 71.02 lbf.ft ).
(e) Make sure that the washers (8) and (11) cover fully the shoulder of the bushes.
Subtask 71-22-41-080-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
THE AFT ENGINE MOUNT WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 28 KG (61.7 LB). MAKE SURE YOU SAFELY SUPPORT THE AFT ENGINE MOUNT AND KEEP IT AWAY FROM OTHER ENGINE COMPONENTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, INJURY TO MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION:
HOLD THE ENGINE MOUNT TO PREVENT HARD CONTACT WITH THE ENGINE DURING THE STEPS THAT FOLLOW. BE CAREFUL NOT TO CAUSE DAMAGE (SCRATCHES) TO THE ENGINE CASE.
CAUTION:
DO NOT USE GREASE OR OIL ON ANY PARTS OF THESE ASSEMBLIES. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION:
FOR EACH WASHER, MAKE SURE THAT YOU INSTALL THE CORRECT PART NUMBER AT THE CORRECT LOCATION. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, THE PIN CAN MOVE OUT FROM ITS POSITION.
CAUTION:
DURING THE INSTALLATION, MAKE SURE THAT THE THREE-POINT SHACKLE PINS ARE ON THE RIGHT SIDE AND THE TWO-POINT SHACKLE PINS ARE ON THE LEFT SIDE. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE REAR ENGINE MOUNT CAN OCCUR.
(1) Locate the rear mount on the engine. (2) Install the three points shackle pin on the right side.
(a) Install the pin (6), the new AIPC 71-22-86-01-040 WASHER (2) or the new AIPC 71-22-86-02-040 WASHER (2) and the bolt (1).
1 Install the bolt (1) with its head on the rear side.
(b) Install the new AIPC 71-22-86-01-040 WASHER (5) or the new AIPC 71-22-86-02-040 WASHER (5) and the new AIPC 71-22-86-01-020 NUT (4) or the new AIPC 71-22-86-02-020 NUT (4).
(c) TORQUE the nut (4) to between 2.69 and 2.24 m.daN (19.84 and 16.52 lbf.ft )
. WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
(d) Install the new AIPC 71-22-86-01-010 COTTER PIN (3) or the new AIPC 71-22-86-02-010 COTTER PIN (3). (e) Make sure that the washers (2) and (5) cover fully the shoulder of the bushes.
(3) Install the two points shackle pin on the left side.
(a) Install the pin (6), the new AIPC 71-22-86-01-040 WASHER (2) or the new AIPC 71-22-86-02-040 WASHER (2) and the bolt (1).
1 Install the bolt (1) with its head on the rear side.
(b) Install the new AIPC 71-22-86-01-040 WASHER (5) or the new AIPC 71-22-86-02-040 WASHER (5) and the new AIPC 71-22-86-01-020 NUT (4) or the new AIPC 71-22-86-02-020 NUT (4).
(c) TORQUE the nut (4) to between 2.69 and 2.24 m.daN (19.84 and 16.52 lbf.ft )
. WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
(d) Install the new AIPC 71-22-86-01-010 COTTER PIN (3) or the new AIPC 71-22-86-02-010 COTTER PIN (3). (e) Make sure that the washers (2) and (5) cover fully the shoulder of the bushes.
(4) Install the waiting fail safe pin.
(a) Install the pin (12), the new AIPC 71-22-86-01-080 WASHER (8) or the new AIPC 71-22-86-02-080 WASHER (8) and the bolt (7).
1 Install the bolt (7) with its head on the rear side.
(b) Install the new AIPC 71-22-86-01-080 WASHER (11) or the new AIPC 71-22-86-02-080 WASHER (11) and the new AIPC 71-22-86-01-060 NUT (10) or the new AIPC 71-22-86-02-060 NUT (10).
(c) TORQUE the nut (10) to between 11.5 and 9.63 m.daN (84.81 and 71.02 lbf.ft )

USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
(d) Install the new AIPC 71-22-86-01-010 COTTER PIN (9) or the new AIPC 71-22-86-02-010 COTTER PIN (9). (e) Make sure that the washers (8) and (11) cover fully the shoulder of the bushes.
C. Removal of the Tool
(1) Remove the 636-1000-30GSE ENGINE MOUNT HOISTING DEVICE AFTPWA211466 FIXTURE, LIFT (14) from the aft mount assembly (13).
