B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)
447AL 448AR.
   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.

4. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.

A. Removal of the Fan Cowl Latch Proximity Sensor Harness

CONFIGURATION 1

   (1) Remove the fan cowl latch proximity sensor harness (3).
     (a) Disconnect the pylon harness connector (4056VC-A) from the proximity sensor harness (3) connector (4056VC).
     (b) Remove the four screws (2) and four washers (1) that attach the proximity sensor harness (3) connector (4056VC) to the disconnect bracket.
     (c) Remove the proximity sensor harness (3) connector (4056VC) from the disconnect bracket.
     (d) Disconnect the proximity sensor harness (3) connectors (4233KS-A), (4232KS-A) and (4231KS-A) from the proximity sensors on the fan cowl latches.
     (e) Remove the bolt (5) that attaches the clamp (6) and the proximity sensor harness (3) to the fan cowl door.
     (f) Remove the 16 bolts (5) that attach the 16 clamps (4) and the proximity sensor harness (3) to the fan cowl door.
     (g) Remove the proximity sensor harness (3) and the clamps (4) and (6) from the fan cowl door.
     (h) Remove the clamps (4) and (6) from the proximity sensor harness (3).

CONFIGURATION 2

   (2) Remove the fan cowl latch proximity sensor harness (7).
     (a) Disconnect the pylon harness connector (4056VC-A) from the proximity sensor harness (7) connector (4056VC).
     (b) Remove the four screws (2) and four washers (1) that attach the proximity sensor harness (7) connector (4056VC) to the disconnect bracket.
     (c) Remove the proximity sensor harness (7) connector (4056VC) from the disconnect bracket.
     (d) Disconnect the proximity sensor harness (7) connectors (4233KS-A), (4232KS-A) and (4231KS-A) from the proximity sensors on the fan cowl latches.
     (e) Remove the nut (9) and washer (10) that attach the clamp (12) and the proximity sensor harness (7) to the fan cowl door.
     (f) Remove the two nuts (9) and two washers (10) that attach the two clamps (11) and the proximity sensor harness (7) to the fan cowl door.
     (g) Remove the 14 nuts (9) and 14 washers (10) that attach the 14 clamps (8) and the proximity sensor harness (7) to the fan cowl door.
     (h) Remove the proximity sensor harness (7) and the clamps (8), (11) and (12) from the fan cowl door.
     (i) Remove the clamps (8), (11) and (12) from the proximity sensor harness (7).
   (3) Installation of protection covers
CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
     (a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
