Removal of the Deflection Plate on the Fan Cowl Door Keeper No. 1
1. Reason for the Job
NOTE: SBN71-0331 (equivalent to Airbus service bulletin SB 71-1069) introduces a lockable latch in the forward position (latch No. 1) that must be opened and closed and locked with a key and flag assembly. The key and flag assembly are stowed in the cockpit and must not be used if there is damage to the key or flag.

Fan Cowl Door Keeper Deflection PlateSubtask 71-13-13-941-068-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 71-13-13-010-073-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.

A. Removal of the Deflection Plate from the Keeper No. 1 housing
(1) Remove the nut (1), washers (2) and (9), bolt (3) and bumper (4) that attach the deflection plate (5) to the keeper housing (6).
(2) Remove the nut (1), washers (7) and (8) and spigot (10) that attach the deflection plate (5) to the keeper housing (6).
(3) Remove the deflection plate (5) from the keeper housing (6).
(1) Remove the nut (1), washers (2) and (9), bolt (3) and bumper (4) that attach the deflection plate (5) to the keeper housing (6).
(2) Remove the nut (1), washers (7) and (8) and spigot (10) that attach the deflection plate (5) to the keeper housing (6).
(3) Remove the deflection plate (5) from the keeper housing (6).
